He really made the most out of half plate back in the day sporting a brown fur loin cloth, bare legs and leather boots but now he's got a bit less leg showing with some more armor.
Nice review! Fun fact btw, Hasbro re-used the name Zarak in 1987 for the Transformers line, so to me and many fans the name is mostly known as Lord Zarak, the leader of the evil Nebulans who binary-bonded with the Decepticons, in particular Zarak was the Headmaster that formed the head of the giant Decepticon scorpion/base, Scorponok! He was quite an important character in the comics, even got his own redemption story arc in the end of the Marvel US comics. And yeah, always suspected D&D Zarak was half Orc, half Dwarf due to his size, and best not wonder how such a thing can happen given how both races vehemently despise each other.
Oh interesting. I never got into Transformers for whatever reason, so I totally missed that. And someone corrected me that the book doesn't say Zarak is half-dwarf, just that he resembles a dwarf. So, that may have to be head-cannon for the moment. -Theo
@@TheGallantGoblin Oh, odd! Yet I think it is imaginable he was. I mean Orcs are pretty tall, even Half-Orcs tend to be big, so Zarak looks odd being so short - and even back in 1E when his toy came out, he was clearly not a Goblin despite the the size. I share your headcanon. ;) Transformers was my #1 favourite show and comic as a kid, and it is still my main hobby, so yeah, I know such nerdy stuff. Hasbro tends to re-use copyrighted names as much as they can - Shockwave for example, was first used for Transformers, but then got re-used for GI Joe too for a character. Some day, we might even get a Beholder called Shockwave, heh... :P
These look amazing! I'm so glad they are coming out with these old school characters. I'd love to get some modern versions of the Third Edition characters some day. (I bought the third edition starter set that came with 4 adventurer characters when it was new) as a kid I always loved making up stories about those adventures.
I am one that is all in on these 2 sets for nostalgia, I had several of the figures, especially Warduke. I am hoping they make some of the lead characters as adults, they have a Bobby in the unpainted line 90007.
I’m a fan of the wiz kids prepainted minis but these sets aren’t looking so hot to me. I think some of the sculpts could be a lot better and the paint looks bad.
I recently rewatched the cartoons. So corny. So good! I can’t believe they cancelled it with one episode left. The fan fic slide show thing works for closure, but it’s still a bummer. I doubt I’ll be spreading the cheese from these minis onto the campaign I’m currently running.

i'm surprisingly a fan of this set of miniatures, especially the crazy looking warrior character.
Warduke? He's a classic.
He really made the most out of half plate back in the day sporting a brown fur loin cloth, bare legs and leather boots but now he's got a bit less leg showing with some more armor.
No way we have the same gargantuan premium golden cat mini !
Hehe, no way you have another Tilly! She's one-of-a-kind! ;-) -Theo

I would love a Bregan D'aerthe version of these mini packs to go with the Companions of the Hall set.
yes!
Definitely getting the Companions of the Hall for some NPC’s or like Wulfgar as a barbarian pc
Classic old-school evil party - love it !
Ah yes the classic D&D team
All humans and one non-human mascot
I had this action figures back in the 80’s
Been waiting to see this review. Thank you, guys.
Love how you put pics of the original Action Figures or shots from the Cartoon in there.
Glad you enjoyed it! -Theo

I had a Regdar shirt. I wish I could fit in my clothes from 20 years ago. They hold a special place in my heart.
Ahhh! So jealous of the minis! Keep up the great reviews! It's very appreciated 🙏
Thank you very much! -Theo

5:24 More cats in your videos!!! We demand more cats!
If it weren’t for their exorbitant appearance fees! Fame has really gone to their heads! -Theo
I definitely want this set! Zarak!
orange cat is the true villain!
Tilly is a chaotic good champion. :-) -Theo
I wasn't fan of the new booster brick but the new starter sets with classic characters... I totally love them!!
And you can totally use these guys in any adventure. -Theo
So....1/2 Dwarf, 1/2 Ork,......he's a DORK?
Squid games fanfic? By the gods he is truly diabolical!!!
4:02 where does it say Zarak is half dwarf? Just because he’s short? I’m not super familiar with these guys…
Ah, you're correct. I misread this sentence in my haste, "he might pass for an ugly, beardless dwarf." -Theo
Those look cool
I may have to get them but it is a little pricey.
I’m a fan of the wiz kids prepainted minis but these sets aren’t looking so hot to me. I think some of the sculpts could be a lot better and the paint looks bad.
Yeah, if you compare these guys to the Goblin warband the sculpts and painting are not even close.
I recently rewatched the cartoons. So corny. So good! I can’t believe they cancelled it with one episode left. The fan fic slide show thing works for closure, but it’s still a bummer.

Great review as always. Admire your work.
But god do these miniatures look atrocious. The paintjob, the curved postures and weapons... ugh.
