Can't believe Arsenal gave 6 points to Aston Villa and sacrificed their Premier League title just so that Spurs miss out on top four ffs. Such a small club mentality.
That's now Mourinho, Conte and Ange that have called out Spurs fans' mentality, and yet still they can't hear it. A winning mentality is about focusing on yourself and your own performance, not praying on the downfall of your rivals. Spurs had a chance to stop Arsenal winning the league, that was two weeks ago and they were 3-0 down at half time.
This whole idea as if trophies and winning is somehow about fans is ridiculous. How does Spurs fans wanting Arsenal to fail affect how a Spurs club wins a trophy? It's all bollocks. Fans mentality doesn't equal club success.

'Spurs had a chance to stop Arsenal winning the league, that was two weeks ago and they were 3-0 down at half time.' Fucking hell, that is a good one. Very true.
Yes Ange was right - he's seriously trying to build something and he's trying to do it differently to dismissive and explosive ways that previous mangers ranted about. He wants to change the mindset of glorifying others failures and clinging onto that and instead actually focus in-house in creating a new winning mindset that couldn't give a flying pig about what others do or don't achieve whether they are neighbouring rivals
Spurs still have European football to play for with Newcastle, Chelsea and Man Utd (No sniggering at the back) right behind them - now with two games to go for the likes of Newcastle, Chelsea, UTD. There is possibility that because the mindset is so weak around Spurs that they'd rather Arsenal not win the league this season... it could come at the cost of no growth and progression for next season because Spurs lose out on finishing in a spot to get European football.

The fans expecting the players or manager to not fight to the end is a loser mentality. Its about us, not Arsenal.
I think that Ange’s pre match comments inform his view about the north London rivalry more than his post match. He was asked about bragging rights between Arsenal and Tottenham, and his response was that if you look through the halls at Hotspur lane, there are no historic photos from the past 15 years. Arsenal would have photos from the same period of time. So what bragging rights do you REALLY have over your rivals if you are only considering 2 or 3 games worth of “bragging rights” instead of a seasons worth of success? Winning trophies (which is inherently at the expense of your rivals) is the only true bragging rights in sport

If they weren’t so resigned to City being so dominant over them and City being in the driver’s seat in terms of points I think they wouldn’t have minded the Arsenal loss themselves. Certainly not shamelessly celebrated like certain members of the spurs fanbase.
Last night made me realise one of the main reasons Clubs like Liverpool, Man U, Man C, & Arsenal have won so much more - the mentality is so different. Remember when Thierry Henry was baffled by the Spurs players celebrating and getting in his face because they managed a draw against Arsenal, even though it wasn’t enough to stop them winning the league. Henry was like, “you’re seriously celebrating a draw?- we’ve just won the title at your stadium’”
Are you dumb? You think the reason Liverpool, Man United, Man City & Arsenal have won more football matches is because their fans are different? Arsenal fans literally would have done the exact same thing. I hate to burst your bubble but those teams won more because they had better players, had better managers & had more money to invest with each team having different degrees of each. By this logic the Liverpool fans were the biggest hurdle to them winning the premier league for Liverpool in the last 30 years, because they only managed to win the year when no fans were allowed in the stadium. Obviously the delusional scouser prevented Liverpool from winning.
That was 20 years ago pal. Since then Arsenal fans walked out of their stadium en mass in the 85th minute when losing to Villa. Why TF do Arsenal fans delude themselves into they’ve got such a winners mentality and don’t care about their neighbours?. Created a day to celebrate finishing above Spurs. Desperately crying for Liverpool to beat Spurs in the CL final to the extent they’d take losing the Europa League final given the choice. Absolutely delusional hypocrites.

Yes - says a lot about the club when they’re more concerned about their rivals not winning the league than finishing top 4. Clearly obsessed elsewhere as they’ve got nothing to be worried about! Would be different if they had nothing to play for, but they still did
Only thing Spurs fans can achieve each season is cheering for city rival to not win the league. I understand not wanting them to win, but publicly stating your team should lose the game, celebrating losing and trying to hold your ground is bit too shameful. Managers are frustrated for good reason.

There are two moment in recent history that summarize Tottenham. One is when they won against us (Arsenal) and secured 4th spot and the way they celebrated. One team came back stronger next season and kept on pushing. While Spurs are stuck celebrating since that day and now celebrating Arsenal potentially not winning the league on the expense of the same 4th spot they first celebrated
Nope, I want Spurs to win MORE than I give a flying crap about anything Asnal.... This is the mentallity problem that Jose, Conte, and now Ange have seen. Be better fans....

Ofc we wouldn't want arsenal to win the league but how could we cheer against our own players who clearly weren't trying to lose. I don't mind the loss itself for obvious reasons but you'd never catching me wanting anything other than a win when we play especially with ucl up for grabs.
This is the same defense that keeps coming up! I DON’T WANNA BE LIKE arsenal FANS! I’m spurs through and through; I couldn’t care less about what that lot does.

Preach Flav! I relate to all of this as a Spurs fan. I genuinely think that Europa will be good for us next year. I want to win and I think Ange can get us there, but I'm glad that we didn't hand Arsenal a title and I'm glad that we played well against the best team in the world and gave them a fright. That game went perfectly in my mind, but I'm also glad that Ange is pissed about losing and wants to win and to build a future for this club. He should be pissed at losing, and I'm glad that he wants to build something here, but we are at the start of that process and that's ok. And Arsenal, who are ahead of us in their rebuild, are close to losing again and that's AMAZING!
I'm a brit in Australia. James you are right about the aussie attitude towards sport, however, the one thing that aussie sport seriously lacks is emotion and rivalry. The history just isn't there, and so aussies don't fully understand the emotion that fuels this rivalry. At least in my opinion.
Bollocks. There's plenty of rivalry in aussie sport. The difference is the winning mentality and sporting ethos. This whole thing has pretty much nothing to do with sport.
@simbolicdunksman1746 they're rivalry is very different. They're used to one or the other winning trophies. Arsenal haven't won a 20 years, it would be a very different scenario for spurs fans to deal with that celtic/rangers fans
people are getting confused, both things are simultaneously true: yes spurs fans do have a salty mentality (arguably as they should do although celebrating is a step too far) BUT the fans literally have maybe 5% influence on the club and the direction of the club, the players, the manager and probably the club itself didnt want to lose that game so all we are really arguing about is how fans should feel
So if spurs play man city on match week one and match week 19 next season, i expect them to want to lose. Points are points it doesnt matter if you play at the start middle or end of the fixtures list. If you think arsenal will be up there competing for the league next season, then lose those games, you have to stop arsenal succeeding. Spurs success is a secondary concern
Based on the logic spurs fans are using at the moment, does that mean you'll want to lose to city and liverpool every season? Because any points taken from those top teams could contribute to Arsenal winning the league.
In fairness to Spurs, Top 4 wasn’t in their hands regardless of the result. They could have handed Arsenal the league and still not be in the champions league
But do you think they gave it their best ? I doubt that , Son especially should be ashamed of himself, would he have missed those chances if they were playing Arsenal ?
seeing the complete 180 in spurs fan sentiment online after ange’s comments this week is pretty crazy. flav still kinda doubling down on it but i didnt see a single spurs fan online saying they wanted spurs to go for it before the game, and now im seeing a lot of spurs fans saying of course they wanted to win and who cares about arsenal. either those folks were quiet before the game or were shamed into changing their stance by ange. mourinho conte and now ange have all slammed spurs fans mentality, but this is the first manager that seems like he might actually make a difference from what i can tell. as an arsenal fan i hope they dont back him this summer 😅 of course its easy for me to say i wouldnt have behaved the same way if the positions were reversed, but i truly dont think i would have. the mantaloty at the club and with the fans is so positive right now and that is so important
Personally… there should never be a time where you want your club to loose . Flav’s honesty is scary because he’s literally saying his obsessed with Arsenal. I can’t even mention our rivals in chats without being told I’m “obsessed” so to sit there and say “actually yeah , yeah I am” blows my mind 🤯 Fans don’t have the final say into who win a game of football so just support them through hell and high water

I cannot imagine that Jim would do this in any other working situation, apart from when he is preaching to his little sluggies. We're all friends here #releasethedawgs.
Letting your clubs image boil down to 'we're their rival's' is so embarrassing. Surely the epic reframe is if spurs had got a result theyd always be able to reply to arsenal fans that they needed their rivals to finish it for them.
That’s not epic. Nothing is epic about your rivals winning the league. Especially when it’s not happened in two decades. Ok if Arsenal were rolling in titles then fine but they’re not.
That "reframe" is a joke. Are you so dumb you think that would do anything but make Arsenal fans laugh in your face while exclaiming that it was the most "spursy" thing to do.
Villa fan here. I couldn't imagine us ever being in the position that Spurs were in on Tuesday, but with Birmingham. But maybe that's the point. It's only the lesser half of any rivalry that ever has to worry about things like that. The better half would be able to sit easier, knowing it will always come back to them. Additionally, and not insignificantly, how can ANYBODY say that they want more numbers from Ollie Watkins? He's scored 19 goals this season and he's the league's assist leader. For his position, there are no other numbers that matter, and they don't get much better than that. Extremely poor take, James.
He can dress it up however he wants, doesn't stop the fact that this just proves spurs have a small club mentality and they're not winning anything no time soon with that loser mindset. Would rather miss out on CL football than seeing Arsenal win the league is so embarrassing, the obsession they have with us is mad.
Flav is 100% right. I grew up on a playground as the only Man City fan surrounded by United fans. We were shit. A part of the amazement of us being so good now is that they are so shit in comparison.

this losing to spite Arsenal rant is ridiculous. you first have to accept the premise that Spurs actually did have the ability to win the game if they wanted to. against a team that hasn't lost in 2024. against a team that makes a habit of closing out the title race at this time of year. Spurs were never going to win. Spurs fans thinking the choice to win or lose was in their hands is absurd. Arsenal fans rooting for Spurs to throw them a bone is equally absurd.
Here’s the breakdown: Liverpool, arsenal, united, city number 1 preference is winning Number 2 is ruining a different teams season. It’s a cherry on top. For spurs fan it’s about ruining a season to someone else, and the cherry on top is winning
No it’s not because Spurs only had the number 2 option. Winning against city was irrelevant, because they have to rely on Villa losing against Palace. In the end, it’s better for Spurs to qualify for Europa League, because they might have a chance of winning it. They’re not winning the Champions League next season.
In the pub and with mates, of course it's OK to say you don't want your team to draw/win to help your rivals win the league.....but in the ground? Where you should be supporting your team? That's just wrong and shows who they are (but they don't see that because they are obsessed with Arsenal). Honestly, Ange could leave- Mourinho and Conte saw the poison there too, and what players want to go to a club where fans are like that? They could have got Champions League but celebrate a loss? That ain't real fans.
Ange set a puzzle in the last press conference, and the commentators and podders have not figured it out - have not figured Ange out basically. The Arsenal winning the league via spurs issue is a red herring, must have been an annoyance to Ange, but was not the meat and potatoes. The answers to the puzzle are all there in the last few press conferences! The fragility Ange spoke of, is everyone wetting the bed after a few loses, in the context of trying to build a winning team. He spoke in the presser before last, of fans, players and staff not getting it. This presser, in the puzzle he set, he mentioned fans, players, staff, everyone. He wasn't calling the club out, he wasn't having a go, he was upset, said he had misread the situation and will adapt his approach. Against City, he changed it up, after saying he would die on a hill. Well, changing it up is not how Ange believes you build for the future. Pep says Spurs will click in time. Maybe Pep is more insightful that the commentators lol. An Ange team should be like a pinball machine, with plenty of chances and goals. He doesn't want to just dominate, he wants to decimate teams. Ange doesn't see that VDV playing at left back will turn him into the best centre back in the world. Ange doesn't see that, when Spurs lose a left back, that the rest of the team will learn the system, when there is no inverted full back. And learn to pl;ay the system against all challenges. Ange sees that to learn and master a system, you have to play it against the best, and learn from what goes wrong. He always has had that belief, it has always served him well. When Celtic played in the Champions League, and lost, the Celtic fans got it, the team has to have a go to grow. That is what he means by putting long term success ahead of short term gains. That is what he means by saying there are no bragging rights on the walls in the club's hallways. Sounds like staff and players lost confidence when the going got a bit tough.
Signs of a Good Pod: When James does an impression, particularly one with an accent. The first one I liked was a deep impression of Roy Keane. The one that I kept watching over and over was a conversation between David Moyes and Wilfried Zaha over whether the latter "bummed" the former's daughter.

Even as an Arsenal fan, I fully understand Spurs fans not wanting to win that particular game in order for their biggest rivals to not win the league. I would have perhaps felt the same level of discomfort if I were put in that position. But what Mou, Conte, and now Ange have said, its not just based on one game, its the entire culture of the club. Tottenham merely exist to take part in the league, nothing else. Don't your fans get bored watching this season after season? I was so bored with Arsenal when we were competing for nothing but domestic cups for so many years. Spurs fans have a loser mentality. Serious question: whose fault do you think it is that Spurs don’t win trophies? The fans or the owners? Fans simply adapt to make the best of what they have. Do you think City are now dominating football because their fans never cared about what Man United were doing, that Barry and his mates from Moss Side are absolute mentality monsters? Or was it because an oil state came along, pumped tonnes of money into the club and the fans merely adapted to the circumstances to the point they now don’t care about United. Also, what evidence is there that Arsenal fan mentality is somehow more “winning” when the Emirates was half empty in the 85th minute against Villa, after losing your first game in months? Surely you’re not under the impression that Arsenal fighting for the title because of your fans’ superior mentality. Your owners, managers, and players have improved, and so now your fans’ goals have changed accordingly. That’s all.
i dont think anyone would understand what spurs fans went though. What on Earth are you on about? How do Spurs ‘win big’ in this situation? We’ve had regular champions league football for the last 10 years and it means absolutely nothing.
Its so easy for fans of other clubs to say they wouldn't want their team to lose in this situation. No point trying to have a reasonable nuanced opinion on this, fans just want to call us plastic and make jokes for some light entertainment, they don’t understand what it means

Do agree with Flav on the excessive celebrations from certain spurs fans in the stadium and online being over the top and somewhat disrespectful towards Ange. Can see where his anger has come from especially seeing some of the reporting from the athletic around some of the spurs coaching staff making jokes around losing the game in the buildup
Flav is spot on. Everton fans know this from a very similar situation 10 years ago. Is it the sign of being inferior to your rivals? Possibly. But you do not understand the emotions involved in these things. People commenting who do not understand the very essence and source of rivalries. Of course the club should act different to the fans; Postecoglu is right in that sense. But there needs to be an appreciation of the history and emotions involved here. When you have grown up in the area these things are so visceral. Great chat guys

Do Spurs fans really think we are absolved of banter and ridicule because of the result? It's WORSE! Do you think Arsenal won't be challenging again next season? What if the situation happens again? What game will we want to lose then? Pathetic from those fans. Flav said himself post game the jubliance wasn't there. We want to be bantering Arsenal from a position of STRENGTH, not carrying on like cowards in their shadow. Ange, please stay, you had to call out the fans and the only way we grow to a superior winning mentality is to drop this weakness.
I’m an Arsenal fan and this is my current take on the Ange comments: Villa go to Palace on the final day, and Spurs play Sheff U. They had a huge chance of getting CL football next season if (big if) they beat City. That could of accelerated their rebuild in terms of quality and amount of players they could bring in, which in time would put them in a situation to win a title themselves. If Arsenal won the league this year and Spurs win it in 2 years time would Flav actually care about this game and how it gave Arsenal an edge to win the title but the CL money improved them to win it themselves? I think that’s what Ange felt aggrieved about, how little their own path was discussed compared to Arsenal’s. If the rivalry was seen as the side dish I think he would of been fine, he knows what a rivalry is btw he was a Celtic coach. However he also knows what the culture needs to be, at no point did United fans celebrate or not support their team when we played them at OT, cause your rivals winning a title should never be the be all and end all if you have serious ambitions to win titles yourselves. Arsenal not winning the league should of been seen as a consolation prize rather than the prize itself in my opinion.
12:29 Flav talking about going to school surrounded by arsenal fans resonates with me. Despite going to a school in Greenock I was the only Greenock Morton fan in my year. It was full of Celtic fans and they were insufferable as they racked up a QUADRUPLE TREBLE (!). So, I’ve always felt a bit more hatred towards Celtic than Rangers - despite being raised a catholic and having an Irish lineage. Chunts.
My “one must beware hubris but didn’t and should have” moment came at the beginning of Arsenal’s title run in demise in 2022-2023. The whole season telling myself, and anyone that would listen that there’s no chance we would win the league… even at times I might have thought it, but never ever would I mutter the words out loud. Until… April 2023… Anfield. Martinelli opens the scoring. Brilliant I thought, but still not allowing the words to come out of my mouth. Then Gabriel Jesus’s header puts us 2-0 up away at Anfield in April… “OH MY GOD WE’RE GOING TO WIN THE LEAGUE” I exclaimed… the words left me before I knew what was happening. Next thing I knew, Xhaka tried to fight the whole of Anfield we throw away the 2 goal lead, we crumble for the rest of the season meaning we go the season without a trophy, giving Man City the treble and leaving me with an unwavering sense of heavy, terrible responsibility that I, ruined that season for all Arsenal fans across the world. One. Must. Beware. Hubris.
Arsenal’s fans holier than thou mentality regarding this issue is exactly why most people (especially those who know arsenal fans) do not want them to win the league.
@@shrisiva4016 We banter you because you acted like the moral guardians of football. Most people who actually know Arsenal fans do not want them to be successful. Its wasn't about WANTING or TRYING to lose against City, it was finding the upside to losing and celebtrating Arsenal not winning the League, just like every Gooner would celebrate if Spurs ultimately fell short. Spurs have lost 5 out of the last 6, and only snuck a win past Burnley, so Gooners were in dreamland if they thought we'd beat City but it was WAY closer than I ever thought it would be. Ange can be upset, I get it, but if he wants Spurs fans to be happy he needs to beat Arsenal first and not crumble and go down by 4 goals at home, only turning up in the last 10 min or whatever. We were mad at him and the team then, he can be mad at us now, but we love him and, in the end, ... Arsenal couldn't win the league, lol
Tottenham didnt lie down though. They put their best 11 out there and gave them a really good game. Pre-game Votes said that 80% of fans wanted to win vs City. You’re always going to have some outliers in such a difficult situation, regardless of which team you are talking about. (Arsenal faced similar fan polarity with tons of fans being willing to lose the europa league final if it meant Tottenham didnt win the cl one)
Flav defending spurs fans odd behavior around this completely surreal one off game but not understanding arsenal fans odd behavior around this same one off game is pure hypocrisy
As a Liverpool fan, I wouldnt want Liverpool to throw to stop Everton winning a league. I have Everton fan friends who deserve the joy of it after so many years and want the City of Liverpool to succeed more generally... Not sure if i'm in a minority but I think most Liverpool fans would agree with me.
It's a good talking point...but I'm now so bored of it. Wanting to lose is gross but nessasary...like your dad catching you with cigarettes and makes you smoke the carton. I smoked em and now I'm done thinking about it
I find football is actually so much more enjoyable when you can focus on your own team, instead of looking at other teams. We can't affect anything as fans (except maybe if in the stadium), so having only one team that has some control over your emotions is freeing.
As an Arsenal fan, I have no issue with Spurs fans having a preference to losing. I think Flav was 99% on point I just think it's because embarrassing when you're shouting at your manager, doing the poznan, singing along with City fans...

Ange basically said that preventing Arsenal from winning the league isnt a trophy, and therefore deemed it worthless. He then proceeds to claim he understands rivarly. I get that Ange and the players might have had a different outlook on the game, however his complete inability to see where some fans are coming from really suprised me.
He has managed celtic. If anything, he understands football rivalry more than spurs fans. It seems like his disappointment with the club and fans during the presser is from the fact that the fans actually cheered city in the stadium and asked him to tank the game. Something he prolly has never experienced before.
"So many people have grown up with this rivarly being such a significant part of their lives. " if the rivalry translates into wanting their team to lose then they should seek mental health advice.
The more i think about it. It's less of obsessing about Arsenal but it's the fact the fans have given up on this team. Like that's partly on Ange and the team cos of their form. If u can't believe them catching Villa this year what's to say they can do anything next year or the year after? It will get harder each year u are out of the champions league. Piled on to of that having your fans celebrate u losing ain't gonna have a positive effect on you performance wise.
Not having that take from Flav. Man United fan here and Liverpool could beat us twice a year every season if it means we 're successful. Matching going reds will always have a mentality of 'We're Man United.. who are you?'. I want us to win and I don't care what anyone else does before that. When we came back from 2-0 down at the Etihad to win 3-2, no one cares about it because we didn't win anything. Ange clearly has the same mentality and wants to drag the spurs fans kicking and screaming
Ange's point is so clear and irrefutible. When he joins Spurs there is an unwritten agreement between him and the fans that he will do his best to win and as long as they see his work they will back him. He has held up his side of the bargain and he feels betrayed by his own fans wanting him to lose. 'He doesn't understand the Arsenal - Spurs rivalry' is an embarrasment of a position - it's more like Spurs fans don't understand winning.
everyone’s speaking about it as if tottenham winning this game guarantees them top 4 - in actuality, chances are very very slim let alone it arguably being better that they go further in the europa as they wouldn’t win the champions league. don’t see a problem with celebrating this loss to mock your rivals. seems strange to me given ange’s last job that he can’t understand this
From watching as a neutral I only saw them really celebrate after the second goal when it was confirmed anyway. More of a cope like "well we wanted this anyway trust me bro this is better"
Liverpool were in this situation in 95, playing Blackburn last game of the season and they were going for the title agaisnt United. Tbf to us we didnt shy away, we actually beat Blackburn but thankfully United slipped up agasint West Ham i believe. But beyond all that, I still cant get over the league letting City win 4 in a row. How is that good for the league especially when we all know the dodgy way they have gotten there. Also regarding 37:40 when we drew to West Brom Klopp and Liverpool had the piss taken out of them for the team cheering the fans that stayed and stuck with the team after Klopp had asked the fans to stay and change their attitude at the end of games. So Ange is obviously trying to do what Klopp did at the start.
Lads, got an update in regard to the back to back quarter pounders. My mate it willing to take on the challenge. We now have another dispute though, I said we should buy the burgers two at a time and do it in the maccies car park, so if he can't get through the 6th one for example, we haven't wasted our money. He thinks we should buy all 10 in one go, he is confident he can do it, plus he thinks if he eats them really quick he will be able to "trick his stomach" and he won't realise he is too full for another one. Let us know how we should tackle it and we will get it done
The rest of us (not Tottenham or Arsenal fans) think you're plastic. The thing is that you cheer on losing damages your perception of the game. You can have your rivalries. You had an opportunity of getting Champions League football to go at Arsenal. I think you don't want Spurs to be successful. Ange wants to win. You are so stuck on your rivalry with Arsenal. You are blinded by hate. You will never see Spurs be successful again. This is why Spurs can't keep managers. This is why Spurs are the laughingstock of the league.
As we’ve seen with Ange and Kyra Cooney-Cross this week, it’s hard for Australians to understand the depth of hatred in the North London rivalry. I’m an Australian Arsenal fan of over 30 years and have lived a couple of years in London. I understand and get the rivalry but I’ll never truly feel it. We’re just not wired that way. Actual hatred should be based on genuine reason. For us, a true rivalry is based on some level of mutual respect and at the end of the day, despite the intensity, when all is said and done you should be able to have a beer with your rivals (eg the Ashes) because we know it’s just sport.
I get what Flav is saying totally, but we’re going to get into a really weird scenario one year if the fixture list comes out and Spurs are playing a contender to Arsenal for the league on the last game of the season and we’re all wondering if the fans are going to make it an easier 3 points for them
It's really quite simple. Tottenham have to find happiness in helping stop Arsenal's title hopes by losing to Man City. They don't believe in their own team's ability to actually win the match which benefits their own club's ability to qualify for CL, so they are content to lose and frame it in their minds as a victory. They have yet to recognize that trying to win and coming up short is NOT the same as losing because you simply lack the mentality required to win. It's the undeniable reason why being "Spursy" has become an eponym for failing to succeed and its a just reward that it will remain their club's legacy.
I get Ange's perspective and also know he cant side with the fans for the sake of his job, I understand completely where Flav is coming from, and I understand James. I just think James' point is if Spurs could win the league but it meant Arsenal with the Champions League, would you take that deal?
As a spurs fan I wish people would Stop telling us how we should feel. It was a one off that wont happen again and now it’s done and over. Onwards and upwards
Flax is so incredibly wrong imo regarding the fans wanting spurs to lose. It is so fragile and petty to hate a different team more than you love your own. You can't go into a match wanting to lose, regardless of the circumstances. That is not the mentality you want to have if you want to win, and you're only making yourself look so much worse. If it's such a big deal, Spurs should always want lose the games they play against the other title challengers.
Marc Cucurella’s hair can be completely erased in your mind’s eye. Take any picture of him from the internet and it’s actually super easy to just imagine his little head bobbing about without all that gigantic hair. He’s the most short-back-and-sides-looking luscious locked lad in the land.
my 'beware hubris early' moment this season was absolutely Plymouth away with the mighty rangers. went 1-0 up after a hard fought game, with many typical rangers moments, but the ultimate typical rangers moment was yet to come. as the away end rocked with 'we are the rangers, the mighty rangers, we're gonna win awayyyyyyy' for the last 10 minutes, those green, inbred farmers levelled, silencing a packed out away end. humbling. should've known better at my big age.
He says it’s “one game” but listen to him on the Overlap. He literally tries to mock Arsenal before he even starts talking about Spurs. Arsenal define Spurs’ entire outlook on football. It’s really quite sad
The difference is West Ham fans know what club they are. They know that a bad season results in relegation but a good season means Europe. Tottenham fans believe that they are a top 6 team but have the mentality of a mid table club. It's understandable to think maybe it's okay for your team to lose because otherwise it hands your rivals the title but it's embarrassing to celebrate it. That's the issue. You can't be thinking you're a big club and simultaneously celebrating missing out on the biggest European competition because your rivals might not win
Of course he was right , but shallow fans are one thing what was more concerning is that he said inside the club as well which suggests to me he has to get rid of some staff that may have had the same mentallity of those fans who have no backbone because they cannot stand the idea of having to put up with rivals bragging. Then they try and justify cheering a loss. We all knew that there was a win win game in that if we lost the game there was a little bonus to cheer us up , but to cheer a defeat its admitting the bragging will get to you , honestly its like voluntarily walking into their shadow.
Flav is in denial. James was right he was having a pop at the fans and it was about having a must win whatever mentality. The City game showed Ange can adapt and he has the right attitude but the culture at the club is holding Tottenham back and the fans need to accept they are a part of that. Id be interested to see Ange at a club like United who have ambition and see if he could pull them back from the brink.
In response to Flav’s comment about Chelsea and Leicester: Chelsea still had to play Leicester on the last day and said they would roll over to prevent Spurs winning
Ange not understanding the rivalry is a bit stupid. but hes right in that he should want to win and want his players to want to win, but he should be abel to accept the conundrum and paradox of this one game in particular. And as people have said, should have won the previous 4 games if you "always want to win".... I said this before the game, that if it was me (aston villa fan) I would feel the same wanting my team to lose, if a win hands my rival the title. With a very slim chance to get UCL, to hand a huge rival the title and still most likely not get 4th would be painful. It would be a totaly different story if we are already 4th or are level on points etc. HOWEVER i would want and expect my players and manager to want to win and try to win. I would only be happy to lose by being beaten while my team tried to win, no WAY on this earth would i want my team to lose on purpose... I suppose i would want to be beaten, rather than want to lose. its not entirely the same thing.
Us and United fans a couple seasons ago needed to beat City to get champions league but beating them meant Liverpool won the league. We were in a awful situation
There really isn't a "rivalry" just an obsession of Spurs with Arsenal. There hasn't been a competition between the two clubs through all the years I have watched PL football (20+ years)
I’m sorry flaw but the statement that in Sweden it’s new winners every year is very wrong as Malmö FF has won 3 out of the last 4 seasons. We will also win these year and is in a far better state than any other team financially which gives us a big possibility to build a dynasty
Bit random, but there was one person really didn't want Son to score that goal, and that was Ortega. I thought Postecoglu's outburst was not very grown up. Just give up on these giant ego managers you seem to like, Spurs, and find someone who not only wants to win, but also knows how to win, without the tantrums. Neither Guardola or Arteta are giant ego managers, you don't need it, give it up.
of course he was right. Spurs at their core are a team that disappoints. They are good enough to watch, but not good enough to have that killer mentality and truly stake a claim at the top. they are in and around the top 4, but they don't have it in them to actually go further. the supporter's group had the audacity to offer an EXPLANATION of the north london rivalry to ange, the guy that's been part of the old firm derby
Context is important.. i get the rivalry thing but there was something to play for .. if there was nothing on the line for your own club then fair enough
Ange was annoyed because his staff wanted City to win and some fans were shouting at him to throw the game. James was correct. His outburst is understandable.

Bragging rights.. like primary school playground

Your teams good at cooking the books like the other cheaters at chelsea. The two teams that dominated the prem had to cheat to do it.. So proud of that??haha

Tottenham fans are pathetic wanting their team to lose when champions league and the future trajectory of the club are at stake. Small club mentality, small trophy cupboard
Can a small trophy cabinet hold eight fa cups.Champions league is under Villa's control.Do some research and get your facts straight
@@StuartRead-q5w wow, 8 you say? No, you're right, it must be cavernous... Villa play Palace, one of the most inform teams, they'll probably lose and Spurs should easily win their last game. Research done?
You are not going to win anything until the attitude changes. Focus on your own game.
this losing to spite Arsenal rant is ridiculous. you first have to accept the premise that Spurs actually did have the ability to win the game if they wanted to. against a team that hasn't lost in 2024. against a team that makes a habit of closing out the title race at this time of year. Spurs were never going to win. Spurs fans thinking the choice to win or lose was in their hands is absurd. Arsenal fans rooting for Spurs to throw them a bone is equally absurd.
Completely agree, laughable to even think that spurs could simply choose to beat city if they so wanted
Here’s the breakdown:
Liverpool, arsenal, united, city number 1 preference is winning
Number 2 is ruining a different teams season.
Someone finally gets it. We'll said.

Their entire personality revolves around hating on their rivals who are far bigger and more successful than them as a club. Watching Spurs fans celebrating goals and wearing City shirts and scarves made me sick.
Arsenal fans would have done literally the exact same thing. If you think they wouldn't then that's your right but you'd be grossly mistaken.

Wanting your team to lose a game to stop your rivals winning the league is one thing, acting shamelessly like that is completely different. That's loser mentality.
That’s all.

Celebrating so much you cause a 3rd born winner manager to consider quitting is the most extremely damning thing i've ever heard out of any club.
Tottenham are an extremely damaged club i understand the value of rivalry the best memory's of Arsenal's worst era were always beating Spurs. Spurs are deep within over 50 years of pain, so i get why the rivalry means so much but the level of damage to the ability to win is staggering. Spurs had a chance at CL football, a chance to progress, a chance to improve, a chance to make steps to winning and they choose to celebrate losing instead of rueing the chances lost. We all learnt alot about Tottenham this week and none of it is good, the at least Arsenal cant win should be the silver lining of a bad situation not the true prize.

Spot on Jim, Spurs fans have shown they'd rather lose small than win big. Short term gratification of denying Arsenal winning the league vs building a platform from which they can achieve some long overdue success. Perhaps its been so long for them they don't believe that they can ever be anything more than the irritating little sibling in their dynamic with Arsenal
What on Earth are you on about? How do Spurs ‘win big’ in this situation? We’ve had regular champions league football for the last 10 years and it means absolutely nothing.
@kjgames888 If you genuinely think UCL means nothing then you Spurs fans really are stupid.
Its so easy for fans of other clubs to say they wouldn't want their team to lose in this situation.
But until you experience what its like to be in that situation, the weird atmosphere surrounding the club and the uneasyness of being a fan and the fact that your team winning isn't the best emotional outcome for you, then you just can't comprehend it and shouldn't mock spurs fans for their attitude in this impossible situation
No point trying to have a reasonable nuanced opinion on this, fans just want to call us plastic and make jokes for some light entertainment, they don’t understand what it means
Arsenal fan here, Spurs played well and did better than I expected so I’ve no issues there and wouldn’t ever claim they threw the game based on that performance and certainly think there’s a large portion of our fans who aren’t online twitter idiots who feel this way also.
20 year Spurs fan. Whilst Flav is trying to explain, JLA from 21:57-26:24 is BRILLIANT. Flav with no response. I'm Aussie, and putting Aussie mentality aside because here everyone is Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea or United, you're a lone ranger as a Spurs fan.
Arsenal not winning the league should of been seen as a consolation prize rather than the prize itself in my opinion.
the love of your club is far more important than the failure of your 'rivals'
Wanting the team to lose and wanting the manager and players to want to lose are two different things
Considering how much rival fans banter Arsenal, I really don't care that we annoy you back lol

I think Flav was 99% on point

So many people have grown up with this rivarly being such a significant part of their lives. It has substantial value.

Shake hands b4 the beers always 👍
Totally agree
We had 2 chances to stop Arsenal this season, and we didn't.
As a spurs fan I wish people would

You guys are bums. What a disgrace. The truth hurts.
Spurs will never go anywhere. Small club mentality from all involved.
If it's such a big deal, Spurs should always want lose the games they play against the other title challengers.

my 'beware hubris early' moment this season was absolutely Plymouth away with the mighty rangers. went 1-0 up after a hard fought game, with many typical rangers moments, but the ultimate typical rangers moment was yet to come. as the away end rocked with 'we are the rangers, the mighty rangers, we're gonna win awayyyyyyy' for the last 10 minutes, those green, inbred farmers levelled, silencing a packed out away end. humbling. should've known better at my big age.
Id be interested to see Ange at a club like United who have ambition and see if he could pull them back from the brink.
totally right.
In response to Flav’s comment about Chelsea and Leicester: Chelsea still had to play Leicester on the last day and said they would roll over to prevent Spurs winning
I'm not a Spurs fan but I agree with Flav 100%. Makes complete sense to me.
We were in a awful situation
a classic self bumming from spurs on Tuesday.
