    I just wanted to say how much I appreciate how well done this build is. Super clean, well thought out and executed beautifully. Even down to the zip-ties and grommets for cable management in the bed. As a designer my OCD is always on high with pretty much everything and this was like watching a perfectly constructed Cloud. Made of bad-assness LOL. Great job.

    "You gotta be rocking your kids' gift all the time..." Bro., not only are you good in your exhibition/walk around but your jokes are hilarious and engaging.
    The "gift" from the soccer mom on her land rover that was equally funny.
    You earned my subscription and a big like.
    The New V6/Turbo Tundra is proving to be problematic already and there is an increasing majority that prefer these old school V8/NA TUNDRA - Thanks for your insight and keep up the great content. Thoroughly enjoyed myself

    My next upgrade for sure is the Decked bed box and the rack

    • @Ranch-ix1ir

      The Decked box is a bit of pain but very straight forward. Just take your time and leave an entire day to make sure you are not rushed. The rack is simple too. Let us know when you are ready we may a discount for you on both items!

    • @eric271ful

      1881 Ranch Home for me is San Antonio Texas. The upgrades I have done or the back rear bumper step, the rear sway bar read, the driver side grab handle on the a post, it came with a safe in the console, I installed the automatic up and down windows for the front and rear door windows. And I put red in certain letters for the Toyota Emblem underneath the stereo, and I also put large Raised glossy red Toyota emblem on the tailgate. That’s all I’ve done, LOL nothing compared to what you’ve done.

    Extremely smart layout... My only suggestion would be a Magnuson supercharger kit, which was installed by the dealers as an option until they decided the profit margin wasn't good enough at the end of the 2015 model year.
    Thank you for including the links. You have some of the exact mods I've been looking for and will be ordering very soon now.

    Tundra has not had distributors since like 1998. the coils can now take water fine. arb makes a nice diff breather kit. i run the rigid ditch lights too on my 2014 tundra along with a snorkel. come down to north ga/nc and i can show you some nice trails-

    Would you be able to show or let me know what you did with respect to how you set up your switches for all the after market lights you have on the front and back of your truck. I have a 2016 Tundra limited and I am installing a light bar and the same Rigid hood ditch lights but I am struggling with a clean set up for the light switches. I don’t have any stock blank switch spots inside the vehicle so I’m trying to come up with ideas for a clean install for the light switches. Your build is absolutely awesome. Love the modular interior set up. Great job. Thanks for the thorough run through of your truck.

    • @Ranch-ix1ir
      @Ranch-ix1ir  3 роки тому

      Hey Chui!
      We used a plug and play system from sPOD. Theirs is a main box that gets mounted where you want, then a power cable to the battery, and all the lights wire into that box w pos & neg. The switch panel can get mounted anywhere you like with industrial double stick tape or the supplied bracket. The connection between the main box and switch panel is handled by only 1 ethernet style cable so the interior wiring is WAY simple! Look them up sPOD. There are a few others but theirs is the best hands down plus it can be controlled by your bluetooth phone!!! Thanks for the question and the view and apologies for taking so long to answer you.

      Hi Sheep Dog! Yeah I have been super pleased with the suspension from the factory and that says a lot as I have put Stage 6 ICON Vehicle Dynamics suspensions on my last 2 builds including my 4Runner, the guys at ICON are great and helped a ton with the Runner setup. So it was hard to trust the factory set up but I have to say I have had only 1 complaint and that was the "saggy" rear but fixed that with some larger shackles and it actually smoothed out the ride. Take our lead and run brother! We hope you have good luck and let us know if you need help along the way. Thanks again for the support and the view! Will-

    why do you have two sets of Maxtrax mounts ? All 4 should fit into the special made pins mounts .

    • @Ranch-ix1ir
      @Ranch-ix1ir  4 роки тому

      Hey Vadim,
      We have 2 sets of tracks for a couple of reasons. 1st is we ordered 2 sets just so we had them in case we wanted to mount some at a different spot like a roof rack. 2nd is as we mounted our table on the back of the rack it slides between the center section created by the 2 sets of tracks. 3rd is probably the most weighted, they are mounted in pairs so that either the passenger or the driver side can get out and place a track front and back for their respective side. So let's say the passenger side gets stuck in the mud, it is more efficient for the passenger to get this handled all by themselves. Also for the time being we have the room up top and it just looks cool and keeps the wind drag down a bit.
      Thanks for the view and your comment!

      @Ranch-ix1ir  4 роки тому

      Hi Rosa, thanks for the view and the question. NOPE just plug and play for the most part as it uses the stock wiring loom and connectors. With that being said the turn signal wire did need a resistor clamped on the wire and mounted but supper easy. It is a whole headlight assembly that you just replace, just unbolt a few bolts and pull out old OEM and install the new OEM housing. Hope that helped! • @Ranch-ix1ir
      @Ranch-ix1ir  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Chris first thanks for the view and comment. The tires end up being 33”, we wanted to go to 35s but at that stage the stock bumper was still on and they would have required moving it forward. They ride perfect and being able to pull off and get a new tire almost anywhere is a HUGE plus! Gas mileage is pretty solid at 10-11 in the city and 14-15 on the highway- the KN air filter helps a bit but not much. Yeah we have just gotten around to the paintless thing yet. Hard to find a reputable firm around us that doesn’t want a arm and a leg. Cheers!

    Awesome build. So whats your opinion on the toyota tundra? Are you happy with your purchase over a ford, chevy, dodge?

    • @Ranch-ix1ir

      Hi Davin, thanks for the view and comment. I am super pleased with the Tundra. I have always had Chevys and Fords additionally growing up for a while on a ranch in Montana Rams were the truck back then. I have to say build quality is super and reliability is top notch. For a 1/2 ton truck it can’t be beat that is saying something coming from a die hard like me. Hope that helps and let us know if you would like to see a specific segment on the truck! Will-

      Hahaha yeah Pindal we are still torn on which one to do. We had a 3 Dog on the overland trailer and loved the space and gear toting of a trailer but right now we just run a OZ Tent 4 and a separate extension to the rack. We have a video coming this fall on the tent and Flatpit firepit we use.

    Great video and build! Why didn’t you build a double cab though? An overland vehicle needs more bedroom for gear than wasted space for people that can fit in a DC back seat.

      Hey Brad, first thanks for the view and the comment! We chose the Crewmax because as a daily driver we are constantly having more than 2 people in the truck (clients, kids, dog etc). We would have liked more bed space for a bed like you mentioned so we could cap it and sleep in back but as a daily driver the other side won out. 😉 thanks again for your support! Will-

    Hey, this is one sharp build! One thing I wanted to ask, since I also have a TRD Pro and am looking to get the same bumper. I see that you were able to mount the bumper bracket even with that thick TRD skid plate under there. Did you need to trim or mod anything? Or was this whole bumper set already built with that thick TRD plate in the design plan all along? I’d just like to know before hand so I don’t get in over my head after ordering it

    • @Ranch-ix1ir
      @Ranch-ix1ir  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the watch and comment Dale. Yeah we only went up one size to fill out that wheel well as the stock tire and size looked horrible. If we went up 2 sizes we would probably still be ok as the bumper and front wheel well is the main sticky point at that size but 3 sizes up we will need a spacer & etc which makes the truck more custom than we wanted.

    I don't like the "Gift" you got from the Soccer mom. I put Rhino RB20 running boards on mine to possibly protect from cars opening their doors beside me....unless they are tall their doors will hit my running board before hitting the body of my truck. Now may need some bushwacker fender flairs to protect that part even though I don't really like that look.

      Hey Dale
      That is a great idea! I looked at a pair last year that were perforated to aid in grip with muddy construction boots and with the winters in the midwest I like that. I can always weld on a separate piece pipe to the outside edge to get them a bit wider to guard against them damn soccer moms. Thanks for the suggestion and the view!

      Hey Nick thanks for your input and your view on the video. In response to your comment on the shocks, keep in mind that this truck is a 2016 and not the current 2019 version. That being said for 2 years starting in 2016 the TRD Tundra was outfitted with Bilstiens shocks before redesigns came in the platform and them switching to FOX.
