Hey y'all! While my IG is still live, I am no longer active on that page or responding to comments/DMs! To connect with me, feel free to leave a comment only videos OR email me (services.speakfromtheheart@gmail.com).
This is so interesting! Thanks for sharing what you do in a day at work. I’m graduating high school next month and going to Abilene Christian University, they have a graduate program for speech pathology as well as a bilingual emphasis program. Planning on pursuing that. Taking your advice to work hard in undergrad, especially in the CSD courses!!
Loved this video!! 💕 Im currently a Senior in my undergraduate program and I can’t wait to be a SLP. Thank you for the inspirational video and sharing your day!!
I’m currently only a sophomore in undergrad for SLP, this video along with your others makes me excited for the long term goals I have! (Especially knowing how much I have ahead of me.) Thanks for doing this, it’s appreciated :)
Happy I discovered your channel! I’m finishing my undergrad in psychology and child and youth studies and recently found an interest in speech :) I’m planning to do a graduate certificate to become an assistant before moving on to a masters in SLP ! These types of videos are a great resource!
I'm looking to transition from a school based SLP to a medical SLP. What are some tips you have to get hired, what are the requirements I need (i.e. FEES, certs, CPR certification), or other things I could do to help me get a leg up on other applicants?
Kayla McVay every program! There were a bunch of students in my cohort that didn’t major in speech as an undergraduate student! Don’t let that discourage you! Continue to apply to your programs as you would if you majored in speech.

I have “it’s always impossible until it’s done” as my laptop background. Great quote!

Kaila J Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for sharing your day with us 🙏🏼
You have a really sweet voice !
As a SLP do you usually spend time still doing work when ur at home and not at the office?
Curious George I never take my notes or reports home! The most I will do at home is additional research!
Do you know any grad programs for out of field students?
Kayla McVay every program! There were a bunch of students in my cohort that didn’t major in speech as an undergraduate student! Don’t let that discourage you! Continue to apply to your programs as you would if you majored in speech.
Speak from the Heart thanks for the encouragement and advice!
Do all SLPs have their own office?
Not in all settings, I have shared an office space with other SLPs, but most medical-based SLP jobs, you will have your own office!
