I think it would be really cool to see more than just the artstyle transferred over to pokemon. The boost and break system is one of my favorite combat systems ever, so it'd be awesome to see it implemented in a pokemon game. Great work though!

Even as just a proof of concept, this is unironically more polished and looks more fun than anything Gamefreak has put out in the past decade. If I had a genie with only one wish, I'd wish for GF/TPC to hire talent like yourself instead of the devs they currently have on payroll. (That's a blatant lie I'd wish for some real selfish shit like a billion dollars, but with that money, I could probably convince Nintendo to make a few moves behind the scenes.)

TBH I would prefer the octopath overworld art style but when its battle time the style shifts to bravely default battle style

This is really impressive for a solo project! Really admire the effort of being patient and looking up guides to things you are unfamiliar with, and in the end it paid of! I think if you ought to continue with this one you might want someone to collab with you and making forum posts and asking around discord servers and whatnot for further help, tips and feedback.

I did notice a minor issue with the sprite where Hilbert's feet are backwards in his "looking away" sprite. Overall though, far better than I could do!

I always thought pokemon would thrive with the "Octopath look" or something like ACNH. Infact, i'd love the two games mashed: ACNH but with pokemon and you can tour the region to get badgets and crap for your town.

Ever since I saw how bad SwSh looked in places and how awful SV looked, I've been desperate for Nintendo and Game Freak to go back to a 2D style. Octopath style would be perfect. You can build a large and dense world, and make it look beautiful - especially hand drawn Pokemon sprites.

Too bad the "2D-HD" is trademarked by Square Enix, as far as I'm aware, but I really really really wished Gamefreak/Nintendo adopted a similar style. I never liked the 3-D look of Gen 6 and beyond.
