The general publication thing seems to be that Kaplan learned about the RWS from Don Weiser (who was running Samuel Weiser at the time). Kaplan coordinated with Rider Books in the UK to have the deck reprinted. AGM was the printer. Kaplan's USG packaged AGM's decks in US-printed yellow tuck boxes with a US-printed LWB that took info from Waites "Key to the Tarot" and prefaced it with Kaplan's own essay. Rider packaged AGM's decks in the blue boxes...mostly 2 part lift off boxes, but there were some blue tuck boxes. I think the packaging was made in the UK, but I can't determine that. They packaged the decks with LWBs that only had the "Key to the Tarot" meanings, and those were printed locally in the UK. Weiser apparently was a pretty big distributor of USG's decks for quite some time--they were the largest occult bookstore in the US for several years and were the origin point of a lot of books and items. So USG had special boxes and LWBs done up for the decks Weiser sold and distributed, which became a smaller and smaller portion as more and more stores opened up across the US throughout the 1970s.
If that 35 that has a couple cards that have been written on has plastic lamination, you can try to remove the pen ink with isopropyl alcohol. Soak a cotton swab in the alcohol and lightly dab at it. Have a paper towel on hand to blot up the alcohol quickly, just in case. Keep the alcohol away from the card edge as it can wick between the lamination and ruin the paper.
I loved this I need to rewatch with my mystery deck (no box no book nice old cardstock with 1971 date) and my lwb 19. I also have a lwb 60 would love to put our deck side by side.
Did you catch the typo on the newest YB with the restored calligraphy? It has "foreward" instead of the correct "foreword"...or even the incorrect "forward."

I believe Anna Astrol Lady took off even the copy right with an eraser or file and resealed some how on her use deck that may work for your pen marks

I do notice a hint of pink in my grays when comparing my mystery deck . It seems like your second deck (the first one you flip up has a bit of that )
