Be forewarned, this is a mischievous deck. Not evil or negative, but definitely twisted. The readings I get from this are so fun and dark and twisted. Definitely reccommend..

This one seems to allude to a lot of atypical Marseille deck and Italian decks as well.

Congrats on this great find! I also have this deck. It was given to me by my husband who's had it for decades. I love it so much that I made a video of upscaling a little backpack into a "tarot bag" replacing the bag's original image with Morgan Greer's Two of Swords. Such great images. I'm glad you caved in, regardless of the borderless situation😜

Do you by chance know what edition you have? My box looks like yours but I don't have all those extra cards. I bought mine from someone else and I only got one extra so am curious if I got ripped off or if these extras were for specific editions or pre orders

How's the deck holding up after all this time? Do you still use it? Love it? How did the gilding hold up? Just got it in a trade and I am beyond excited, been wishing for it for YEARS.

I am unimpressed with the Centennial Smith-Waite tarot deck. The colors are muted and muddy looking. The lines are not crisp whatsoever and most images appear to be blurry. The color on the images have a lot of lines running through them. It reminds me of a cheap comic book. The back design is wishy-washy. And last but not least, the copyright symbol and wording on the lower right hand corner is distracting.

The artwork in the study deck is a little bit cropped.

What was the other online site besides Etsy you use?

hello, nice vid! is the 1909 thinner as a deck? thinner cards?? i have the borderless edition but its too thick to shuffle, that's why i dont like thick card stock decks lately...:)

I have this deck complete with the book. I have not used the deck yet for readings but I love to look at them and use them for my personal use. I didn't know this was a rare deck as it was given to me as a gift! I will have to thank the person who gave it to me again for this special gift.

Very cool deck. I recently purchased his Royal Mischief Transformation Playing Cards. While it really is just a decorative playing card deck, it could be used as an oracle deck, because every card has a thematic illustration.

Thanks for these comparison videos. I don’t feel like I need dozens of RWS decks, but I do want to have one authentic deck. I previously purchased the Radiant Wise Spirit Tarot, but I was turned off by he re-drawn or traced artwork. After watching these videos, I love the detail in the line work in the 1909 Restoration deck. I also like that it features the original roses and lillies backs. I now have the 1909 on order.

the one you called Dragon's Blood is actually "Unakite" because of the light pink/green color...Dragon's Blood has a dark red/dark green color....

I have this deck, and I grab it when I need a laugh and remember to not take things so seriously 😂

I love both decks.. I use the orange box often.. the thing that I always point out is the Fools bag.. If you look at the fools bag there is a line filled in.. some of the other lines have been tinkered with too. most of the RWS decks use the same line work as far as I know. I don’t know that the line work is the best measure.. I think color is more important.. but it comes down to what you like.. The colors are too sharp and clean to be a Pam A. It’s a great modern deck. Very sharp.. the typewriter font gets on my nerves in this deck. I guess I just never saw the point of comparing it to the Pam A.. at least any more than the others. That’s just my opinion.

How would the ARD compare with the Tarot Of A. E. Waite by AGM Urania, I'm now curious.. as the latter one was supposed to be the closest to original Pam A.

It's hard for me to choose between the 1909 Art Restoration, the Study Deck, and the USG Centennial.

this deck is incredible. Banksy's art has impressed me for a lot of years & this deck, the colouring, everything about it is perfect. Thanks Alex, I'm gonna check it out x PS - sigh, through no fault of the artist it's the shipping price that puts this out of my reach :( $135 Australian is a bit much for me right now. I hope it stays in print because I think it's worth every cent - I just can't come up with the money.

Here's a trivia question for you...do you know which Rider Blushing Fool also has a copyright on it? 😉
