It took me sixteen years to find this song. I used to have it going round in my head and I'd hum it to bemused people, it was driving me mad, the lost song. Finally heard it playing in a shop and practically jumped on the counter to demand what was playing. What an absolutely amazing song :)

I heard this on MTV cribs back in 2004.... after endless searching on forums and playlists.... Today I finally found it!!!!

Love this song. It's filmed in and around Erith, Slade Green, Thamesmead and so on in South East London. The opening is in Boundary Street, Erith. The block he leaves is where my doctors surgery used to be! Very nostalgic for me.

I heard this for the first time on Sunday when I went to my local pub for a roast. It was so loud in there, I walked across the room to Shazam it and have been obsessed ever since. I can see why so many people feel that it is timeless. It really invokes a nostalgic feeling from my childhood in the UK and I’m grateful that even though I’m late to the party, I’m here none the less.
I was a freshman in high school when this would come on MTV2. I woke up every morning to this song. It's melody is so special to me! I spent the last 2 decades hoping to hear this song again! I'm so happy I found it!

I love your list and love for the era. Yet, there's SO MUCH more to list!! That's why it was so amazing! Almost daily, I say, "Where did all the poets go?!". There were so many brilliant songwriters in the 90's; especially lyrically.

I’ve always loved this song. I was 12 years old when this album released and i just had to have it!! I remember, like it was yesterday, raiding my piggy bank and walking the 5 miles to my nearest Woolworths to buy this after school one day. I walked all the way home in the pouring rain, but it didn’t matter, i was the happiest kid on the planet. Hearing this song makes me feel 12 years old and full of joy again. Not many songs can do that to a person.
Best part of Woolworths was the chart music section, and of course the pick 'n' mix sweets!

Ah my old car. It was the summer of ‘99 - I just moved to London from Ireland and this was my first job. I had never heard of ‘Badly Drawn Boy’ (was this his break thru?) but I had a great day and love this song since. He was also a real nice guy. The car the couple in the video drove became my car after the video 👍

Put me in the line of happy people who've heard this for the 1st or 100th time. Back in the day, I drove from Oklahoma to Montana with 10 CDs. This track was always a highlight at a 2:00 pm smoke break, or fueling up in New Mexico at dawn. And so cool to now know a video came along for me now.
