Is that a fern fossil below your hand at about 11.16 ? Great finds i didnt realize there was anything worth looking for in the area. Im from south west of pitt.
Towards the end of video show it very nice deep purple piece of amethyst that was collected in Pennsylvania. The rest of it is Quartz Crystal, and whatever other minerals that I did find also towards Dana I think a piece of smoky quartz shown as well.
It looks like a place called McAdoo I've been there. You really have to search or go down in the pit and that's dangerous. It's actually a quarry. I've been there myself and found very little. I've watched others that found very tiny ones. I drove two and a half hours to get there. I was so disappointed. But if you're willing to go down a drop rope into the quarry and risk getting hurt or killed, it's up to you. Good luck. Be careful.
I had a ton of luck... if you walk past the quarry to the power lines & then go right on the tracks for about a quarter mile, there is a working quarry so go on the weekend, but I found hundreds of points there, you also find pyrite & fossils there
I believe it's a cold quarry and a place near McAdoo, Pennsylvania. I've been there. Can't say I found much after driving two and a half hours. I guess you got to know where to dig. And it's dangerous climbing down a quarry Very steep walls. It's not for everybody...
Really cause its basically everywhere there. Surface collecting is easy. You may not get massive crystals on the surface but this video is spot on as to what is there.
What part of Pennsylvania are you in I'm from Pittsburgh and I've always wanted to go find some gems I just don't know where to even start around here lol
You are on the wrong side of Pennsylvania you need to be on the east side all the way from Philadelphia all the way up to Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania crystals are abundant amethyst in Smokies or more abundant central to southern Pennsylvania on the eastern side
@@JayDrone sweet I'm pretty close. I actually used to live close to there at Eagle Rock in the valley of the lakes. Now I'm in the coal region south and west of there.
You've inspired me to get off my lazy butt and get out there again and search! Love your vids.
Awesome happy to be an inspiration getting out and about good for health and if you can find a couple treasures makes it all better lol
It's free mental therapy as well.
You forget everything by hiking and searching and digging in anticipation of finding the prize...Go For it!!!!

Very well could’ve been a fern fossil. They have been found around this area, but even more abundant just above Pottsville.
I hope you are still in the area and posting new finds..
I have playlist
Damn that was a quickie!

I'm in Lancaster county, where is this? I'm having no luck finding anything
I would be after those giant calcite crystals if I was around York or Lancaster... there is actually some malachite & what not around there too

The amethyst in Smokey were found near Lancaster. The majority of the video was taken in Schuylkill county, however, regarding the quartz Crystal.
@@JayDronewhere exactly?? I would love to take a road trip 😊
Dang, is that a drag line going in the background at the beginning?
