I dig around here. Been about 20 times. Once you figure it out. You can easily find clears. Jay you need to take me to the pyrite! Call it a tour guide and charge me a few. I have found it but not in quantity. I've been all over PA. Kyanite. Eastonite. Various quartz locales.
Would you mind showing me some time? I live about an hour from there and have always wanted to go hounding. I work in quarries and crystals absolutely fascinates me
So Northeast part of Pennsylvania you have the crystal that I showed in this video which can be very structures generally always excited with a terminated point or tabby‘s have their own structure. We also have chlorite just as well as pyrite. Now as you go down south around Lebanon you can find amethyst Smokies Garnet. Go further down south you start finding I believe fluoride all the other minerals I’ve listed in a few others.
@@shawn1744 go to the Cornwall iron furnace. Go passed the ball field, park at the game land gate, follow the trail back to the old tailings. Lots of different minerals to be found
Parking is at your own discretion. Lots of rumors about state patrol patrol in the area. Your safest bet would be to go to one of the neighboring towns in Park on city streets where you are legally allowed to park and then hike back that way. I live so local I don’t have to park in and around anywhere I can mountain bike just as well as ride all-terrain vehicles to set locations.
I could show you the ropes here. Parking on the side of the road is a No-go. Locals or whomever doesn't want folks in. I just park in town and walk in.
Now there are plenty of no trespassing signs. People also report of people monitoring activity in there, and then telling them to leave and if they don’t that they will be cited. Just as somebody commented the safest place to park is public parking in one of the small nearby towns.
I have not seen any, but absolutely we have snakes. About a mile or two from the spot I frequent just as well and I’ve seen large very large black snakes.
We do have one or two venomous snakes in Pennsylvania I believe if you start smell cucumber or some bullshit get out from where you are it’s a sign of one of them
Your videos have been really helpful for quartz hunting in this area found some awesome points today
Awesome 💎 🦾

Hmmm 🤔....you should hear the screams we hear in the mountains of central Pennsylvania....the big hairy people are noisy.
We have big hairy people who are in the Central CA Forest too....We hear them screaming all the time... Over here we call them,"Hippies"...

@@JayDrone all of the "pyrite" cubes I've found there have already decomped into limonite. Someday I'll find a good one!
Live about 25 mins from here but have no idea who to ask about permission. Any pointers to who I would be able to contact?
Nope enter at your own risk it is posted
Any idea where near perry county? Or maybe at least some cool fossils?
Cool fossils can be found just just above Pottsville. I forget the town, but it is the spot the best spot to find Fern fossils I believe in the world.
Hey, hows the echo these days? Heard there's more signs posted...
Super posted

Is there anywhere to park to get into this? Looking to go soon. Also, do you need permission (are there no trespassing signs anywhere)??
