A Very Popular Dish For St Patrick Day/OLD SCHOOL CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE( nice,tender and juicy)

- LETS GET READY FOR THE ST PATRICKS DAY CELEBRATION/OLD SCHOOL CORN BEEF AND CABBAGE
This is my recipe for the most awesome flavorful,juicy corn beef and you ever eaten and cooked
very easy simple recipe
OLD SCHOOL CORN BEEF AND CABBAGE :
3 lb corned beef brisket
1 lb carrots, peeled and chopped
1 lb. potatoes, red, white, or gold
1 onion, diced
1 head of cabbage, sliced or quartered
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp black pepper corns
1/2 tsp whole cloves
water to cover the corn beef completely
Mustard Sauce
2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
4 Tbsp. plain Greek yogurt
1 Tbsp. honey
Directions:
Place spices in spice grinder or blender to crush in small pieces
rub spices over brisket on top and bottom
Place onion and carrots in a stock pot Lay the corn beef on top and fill with water until the corn beef is completely covered.
Turn the heat on high and when it starts to boil, lower the heat to low and simmer covered for 1 hour for every pound of beef you have.
In my case, the beef weighed 3lbs so it will simmer for a total of 3 hours.
After 2 1/2 hours of cooking (or the last 30 minutes) add the potatoes. When the corn beef is done, remove it from the pot to another dish. Lightly cover with foil and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Once you remove the beef, add in the cabbage to the pot and simmer for 15 minutes more. You may have to bring the pot back up to a boil and then lower the temperature to simmer.
When it's time to eat, slice the corn beef across the grain into your desired thickness. Serve with the carrots, cabbage, and potatoes and the mustard sauce. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Enjoy.

As an Irish American I approve this video!!! I live south of Boston in an area called "The Irish Riviera" because there's so many of Irish decent. A lot of towns have their own parades and everyone eats corned beef. We have grey corned beef and red corned beef. The grey doesn't get any nitrates but is cured the same way. Happy St. Patty's Day!! Also, it is a city Holiday in Boston and wll be celebrated Monday.

Hey, Chef!
Two nights ago I cooked a 3.5 lb. flat cut Corned Beef brisket (on sale at Sam's Club this week) in my Instant Pot.
I used the trivet and added two cups of Better Than Bouillon Beef Broth. I added a little extra spice since the spice packet was small. 1 tsp mustard seeds,1 tsp black peppercorns and 7 whole cloves. I didn't have any coriander.
Cooked on High Pressure for 75 minutes (~20 minutes per pound).
Let the pressure come down for 10 minutes after finished, before slowly releasing the steam.
Removed from IP and rested on a platter for an additional 10 minutes, then sliced against the grain.
DELICIOUS!!!
This way my first time cooking a Corned Beef. Next time, I will remove the Brisket per above, add the veggies to the broth and pressure cook for 3-4 minutes, while the Brisket is resting. The Veggies won't need more time since the pot is already hot and won't take a long time to build up steam again.
Super simple in the IP.

Good morning Chef, the corned beef package says to rinse the corn beef real good before using. Would you suggest that or just use it straight out the pack?
I try to rinse everything I can,I personally run mine under water.
