hey boogie, just started watchen your videos, the bit about your grandman really hit home with me, my mom is currently suffering from alzheimers now, and its true if you cant laugh about some of the crazy shit they do it really grates on every facet of your life, also struggled with weight a large portion of my life, and again comedy and being able to try and laugh even if its not a real laugh can help ya through. well just wanted to throw my 2 cents into the ring here. keep up the videos, be healthy, hope ya hadda good thanksgiving man.
My friends and i were in a skype call once and we typically just watch videos here 'n there. At one point we hear one of my friends start laughing there ass off then posting a link while saying "just wait for the end." We watched this 3 minute video of just stupid funny shit thrown together and the ending...has no become a terrible on going joke with us. The end was the video of woody from toy story saying "wait a minute, i just lit a rocket...AND ROCKETS EXPLODE." As you hear explode, it echoes and cuts to footage of the challenger exploding. We hate ourselves every time we say...but it was too funny
*Man I love your videos so much, you make me happy and your a cool guy good on you and anyone who hates you is jealous so ignore them anyway I love your videos and good luck :)*
I hear you man. My grandfather was diagnosed with alzheimers disease, and though he died from other complications, it was one of the roughest periods in my life.
"I have often said, and oftener think, that this world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel - a solution of why Democritus laughed and Heraclitus wept." -Horace Walpole
My Grandmother was also recently diagnosed with alzheimers and hell it's depressing to witness someone become worse every day, to have them forget your name after 18 years of knowing them. My parents work full time so I have to look after her most days. But the most important lesson I learnt was to learn to joke about it, I refuse to let life break me and I will always continue with a smile on my face
boogy, thanks for this video, i can relate as i use humor as a defense mechanism against the dark, depressing things in life. great job as always keep up the good work ! :)
I enjoy your videos, from the lolwuts to the seriousness of your topics. Keep it going my man, and I wish you the best of luck with the weight loss and youtube career
I lost my Grandma due to lung cancer, I miss her very much she taught me very much I was around 13 we spent years together just her Dad and me. My Dad had his prostate removed due to cancer last year, we both have Rheumatoid Arthritis, I suffer depression. There's a lot more I can write but better not. Anyway thanks very much for your videos, it makes my life brighter :)
i simply worship your ability to just ramble on, probably for hours, and never stop being entertaining, no matter what you talk about, and i wish i could do the same. and remember: big people aren't fat. they just need more room to store their huge hearts! :D
I know a lot of pain and can relate with your suffering. Ofc everybodies pain is different and so are their experiences. Just wanted to say it`s a good thing you are sharing your experiences........it helps me put mine into perspective as well. Thanks mate and keep going....
This sounds like something from Malcolm in the Middle. Just goes to show that some of the funniest things in life come from the darkest places. Glad you could muster through all of it and bestow us with your humor today. You rule, man!
I don't care if people consider you fat, ugly, stupid or a geek. I have a lot of respect for you boogie, the stories you tell, the passion and meaning behind them not only entertain me but teach me a thing or two. Please, please continue the amazing work. Love you boogie, you're an amazing person :)
I just realised at the start of this video.... that you have a GREAT, radio voice. I'd listen to that radio, just live stories and moral issues on the news and day to day life so soothingyour voice PEACE BRO!
You have not failed to make me laugh out loud once again! My G-ma died of Alzhiemiers as well. One time my mom (driver), G-ma, and myself were driving down the highway and some jerk cut my mom. She didn't want to cuss and go off on the jerk in front of her mother, so she just yelled " oooOOOooooOOO, I hope your goldfish dies!" A few minutes pass by and we driver furthur down the road. All of a sudden my G-ma looks at my mother and says "Sharon, how did you know that man had a goldfish?". BWhaha
My great grandma had that illness too. I didn't know her, but my mum told me stories of how she came out the wardrobe saying she just went to bed, and how she put two plates on each other and tried to eat it because she though it was bread. To be honest, I laughed as well :)
awesome story man.... yeah even though you were young you laughed at something memorable about your grandma.... i mean you probably wouldn't have laughed if it was something sad or what ever... but i would have it was my grandma..... awesome video man... can't wait for the next one :)
I think what Boogie is trying to get across is: Not all life is meant to be taken 100% seriously. Yes, it was a scary thing his grandmother was doing, but if and when she passes away, don't you think at some holiday gathering the "granny incident" will be brought up and chuckled at? You still love them no matter what. I would like to be remembered by my family for the funny stuff I did rather than the serious. Keep up the good work, Boogie!
This reminds me of the Family Feud guy that screams out "Nekkid Grandma!" as an answer to one of the surveys that was something like "What is the last thing you want to find when you come home?" Boogie, my mom always said, "Sometimes you gotta laugh to keep from crying."
Humor as coping strategy, pain-avoidance. But likely more than just that. There's something profound about this effect that people versed in spirituality will know about. Keyword cosmic joke. There's something freeing and enlightening in such, related to realizing the pointlessness of life. Then, though, there is also the thing with people becoming comedians because they are operating based on old experiences of not being accepted and thus trying to be popular, to please people. There might be more to that, too, but it seems to be a driving force for some comedians. And this also shows that pain isn't necessarily a bad thing. Many people build a career on it, and some even manage to do so without hurting other people. There are people who made astonishing careers, like successful lawyer, and at some point realized that a desire to please someone's expectations had driven them to that, and then their life might change; it might all fall away. So yes, you can build your success on pain, but it will always remain a weak spot that some day might get hit hard.
Boogie, you're a great storyteller and I'd like to see you talk about being abused as a child, if you don't want to talk about that I completely understand, it is after all a very touchy subject. But I would find it very enlightening if you could talk about it.
I had a similar experience. We lived with my great grandma and took care of her for a while and she did some weird stuff. One time she had Kool-Aid and she mixed a whole bunch of food in it and said "I'm saving this for the man of the house" I don't think he ever drank it.
Dude keep it up you really proved to alot of people that big men are people aswell and deserve better treatment i hate how America has fallen so low to insult thier own citizens over weight size its simply stupid
My grandmother had Alzheimer's aswell.. I always end up in tears when i actually think about it.. Didn't get the end of the video, could someone explain it to me? " Danieltosh i'm looking at you " Either way. Awesome video as always!
Great video, Boogie. I have to admit, I've chuckled at quite a few things that I, myself, have found offensive. And on the topic of Tosh... I better not, I plan on staying happy tonight.
Daniel Tosh is always funny to me in general. Maybe every now and then a joke of his will be a bit much, but if it weren't for that, he wouldn't be daniel tosh :)
I totally agree with the Tosh comment. I never understood the appeal of that show. If I want to look at funny videos on UA-cam, I can just go on UA-cam myself. I don't need a tv show to watch UA-cam videos.
I look forward to more of these videos Boogie :D And I agree with the top comment - Frankie Boyle! Scottish comedian, often in trouble in the press, but very funny. Great guy to follow on Twitter as well.
why do people dislike this? i mean seriously, theres nothing to hate about this.. hes telling a story about his life, its serious, not a joke that you can just dislike if you dont like it. sure the dislike button is there to press it if you dont like it but please... some respect
I agree with you duncan. There is no such thing as sacred ground for jokes. Just because a joke about a taboo topic is bad, doesn't make the topic a humor-free zone. As far as the Tosh rape joke thing, a woman interrupted a comedian during his act. White Knight or just pretending to be one aside, if you taunt something at the zoo, don't cry on facebook that you got bit. If she didn't like the topic, fine. Leave. Silently. Would have avoided the whole thing without hostilities.
My grandmother had Alzheimer's as well, so that story was both sad and hilarious to me. I'm a big fan of dark humor myself, but I do try to curtail my usage based on the audience.
That's my understanding, from what I see posted in many places on the Internet. Though not ALL of them are like that thankfully. I have a number of real feminist friends, online and off, who simply want equal rights for EVERYONE, and don't feel the need to resort to insults or badger those that disagree, or may just not fully understand. They would rather be tolerant, and informative, which I've watched get far better results, so I respect them for that.. they have far more patience than I do.
Was a comedian who visited comedy store in London from the US. I forget his name. He was just offensive more than funny. Especially to some people in crowd. Ironic when e-mailed his manager & made a joke about him (the comedian) and his daughter manager wouldn't pass it on claiming its reason they have to filter his e-mails. So appears he can insult people at gigs but can't take it back.
Tosh has the "balls" to touch on subjects that few do, whether it be because most are afraid to or others simply don't think it's funny. Freedom of speech is one of the most prominent foundations of this country and whether or not someone says something I may disagree with I support their right to do so.
i joke around with my friends(and i have a very mixed group of friends)and i found that a joke or something somebody says only affects you if you let it through out my life i have been bullied and it always mad the bullies mad that they really couldn't hurt my feelings and the only thing they could do is physical hurt me sticks and stones may break your bones but words only hurt if you let them
I laughed at that 9/11 joke. My wife was raped by a gang of mimes. The act was unspeakable.
+Pepper cane LMFAO! I love humor :) thanks for this hehe.
Have you ever considered running for President?
I wish he would. I disagree with a few of his beliefs but he be better than some of the past presidents we had.
Ten years later and he’s now on the 2024 ballot!
did anyone notice that boggie's beard is the assassin's creed symbol
once seen cannot be unseen...

Your confidence level has skyrocketed since your engagement. I love it! Keep doing what you are doing Boogie!
You are a great speaker. I don't normally listen to people just talk but you have a gift. Loved the video, keep it up.

Wow, i hated you for your amount of advertising, but then i watched you draw your life, almost cried. xD
I really enjoyed this Boogie. You are a good storyteller. I usually listen to you when i work on my graphic design projects.
i simply worship your ability to just ramble on, probably for hours, and never stop being entertaining, no matter what you talk about, and i wish i could do the same.

I think you should keep making videos like these because I listen to them while doing other things and I be a lot of other people do to.

I love your stories. You make my day better boogie(:
This was really inspirational, Francis. God Bless you man. :')
Your life stories are funny and serious which makes you a great youtuber
Story time is great please keep bringing them out
the use of humour during stressful situations is a perfectly natural response because it lessens possible psychological damage
"Mabye it'll grow a butter tree!" Then she hit me 10-15 times in the face.
Well, that escalated quickly.
I have to say that I really enjoy watching your videos...you make me laugh a lot. You also make me think!! I like that! Thank you for all you do!!
Boogie, you're definitely one of the most educated speaker I've ever known of.
If you weren't so noble you'd be the best politician who existed.
That's the best response to a "U MAD BRO!?!?" I think I've ever seen...I might use that lol
boogie, you are the best youtuber i ever seen.

Hey man I find your videos really funny and I think you as a person are awesome

George Carlin is still one of my favorites
I've heard that 'comedy is pointing out the irrationalities in our reality.' I've found that to be pretty true.
Boogie, you're a great storyteller and I'd like to see you talk about being abused as a child, if you don't want to talk about that I completely understand, it is after all a very touchy subject. But I would find it very enlightening if you could talk about it.

Buttertree, nice one.
Thanks for sharing boogie.
I did NOT expect that plot twist at the end
boogie man I love you. I love watching your videos :D
I love that "dark" sense of humor. It's the best stuff. The rest is just fluff. ;)
I totally agree with the Tosh comment. I never understood the appeal of that show. If I want to look at funny videos on UA-cam, I can just go on UA-cam myself. I don't need a tv show to watch UA-cam videos.
please make more story time videos in the future!

one of my personal favorite reply's to "u mad bro" is, "whats mad?", as if you dont know what "mad" is
that's great dude, can't wait.
"she hit me 10 to 15 times in the face" hahaha awe poor boogie!
I agree with you duncan. There is no such thing as sacred ground for jokes. Just because a joke about a taboo topic is bad, doesn't make the topic a humor-free zone.

Freedom of speech is one of the most prominent foundations of this country and whether or not someone says something I may disagree with I support their right to do so.
These Victoria's Secret commericals are the only ads I can sit through
You just raised the bar. that was good
Boogie is my new hero from now on !

another portion of humanism, cheers for bringing it to us boogie
I love your videos and I thought you had an amazing story in this vid.

hate it when the top comments are reply's to other comments that were deleted. >:[
Any thoughts on the Athene/Kripparrian/Kutless drama boogie?
Can't help but think of that last part making it to Tosh.0 somehow...
even without the rape joke, the last line is extremely relevant
Boogie ur a great guy who's really down to earth
