damn, dude. mad respect for both him and his ex wife for handling it like champs. it's too common in today's society to hear about relationships turning explosively sour that it's a breath of fresh air for a couple to take the mature, responsible, and still selfless route. I wish the best for both of them.

I just found Boogie a few days ago doing a search on loneliness. I really like him. His wife knew who he was when she got involved. She knew of his anxiety, the whole Internet does! You can't get into a relationship with someone that suffers from whatever and expect them to be cured. You take them as they are. He seems like a good natured individual and not out to hurt anyone, but on the contrary out to help as many people as he possibly can. He does this by baring is whole life in public. Boogie I hope you find peace and a partner accepts you for who you are. Mitch

Boogie your divorce sounds almost exactly like my separation/divorce scenario. Being together with my ex for 6 years I would become anxious about things and fly off the handle about little trivial things because I wasn’t handling my emotions and the pressures of life as well as I should. She told me before that she often felt like she was walking on eggshells. I’m currently 6 months separated with divorce papers filed.
You learn so much from the failure of a long term relationship, you have to look at it like an opportunity for growth and self reflection. People can gradually change over time and you owe it to yourself and they owe it to themselves to find someone that will ultimately bring them happiness in life.

I'm sure there are loopholes in the law of each state, but the standardisation of the "settlements" if that is the correct word to use here is that it's 50/50. Some people play dirty and try getting as much as they can from the other party, or just leave if the husband/wife has a better case against you or if you're just sick and tired of them and are independently stable and aren't an asshole. Might be wrong, but that's from memory without being bothered to google.

Getting married sounds like the biggest mistake a person can make lol sure you love one another for the first 1-2 years, but after that, the flame starts to dwindle, you don't see your significant other like you used to, and 3-5 years later, the love is gone, and then divorce, and if you were the breadwinner, you get annihilated by the courts, especially if you are a man, and God forbid you had children lol
Who in their right minds would marry nowadays? there's a reason divorce rates are over 50%, its just not worth it in modern times.

Gastric Bypass operations constrict the stomach massively, making it impossible to eat a lot as you legitimately have no room to keep it in. I'm speaking from experience with a relative when I say that a gastric bypass can make a person seem "reformed" and then as the stomach reexpands they balloon back up...

Boogie's story is classic example, they could have made it work by the sound of things, would just take work, marriage counseling, maybe talking to their rabbi, priest, rev what ever they are, but they really just didn't care to.

So nobody has to believe me but I think Boogie is 100% sugarcoating this whole situation. Funny how he didn’t mention that a condition of his divorce was to make Dez sign a non-disclosure agreement basically making it illegal for her to disparage Boogie after the divorce. Notice how he blames her leaving on things that make him a victim: his obesity and his anxiety. He DOES mention that his anxiety would turn into anger, but the second he does he quickly downplays this, saying that he was in NO way abusive. SURE Boogie, I’m sure you always were able to reign in that anger, being that you’re so emotionally stable. Also he describes Dez leaving as her saying “people need me, I have things I want to do, I love you and I’m sorry” basically making it seem like the most amicable divorce ever. Boogie is a emotional manipulator and there’s plenty of evidence to back up that claim. I hate when he gets these softball interview questions and people just take him at his word, letting him control the narrative because he knows Dez is not even allowed to tell her side of the story. I’m willing to bet that Dez getting such a high monetary payout from Boogie was 100% BASED ON her keeping her silence about him. I used to be a huge fan of Boogie until I caught on to who he really is, and I hope everyone who reads this will look more into what I’m talking about

I am glad that Boogie accepted the fact that he has his problems, like his morbid obesity, his crappy diet and his poor decisions had destroyed his marriage.
That is very, very mature of him. It's always very important to look at ourselves first before we start pointing fingers.
I always felt Boogie is a really nice guy, but his morbid obesity, it's morbid for a reason, is really going to kill aspects of his life. I am so happy that he is making changes to make his life better, I hope to see a much healthier and much fitter Boogie. I have enjoyed most of his content, so I really do wish he do well.

It sort of makes me wonder how many homeless men out there are in this position due to divorce. I am even more surprised how men could go through a 2nd or 3rd marriage with that debt baggage. Hopefully Boggie has found the resolve to get physically and mentally healthy after the divorce.

People aren't giving the ex enough credit. With Boogie's mental health issues she could have *easily* driven Boogie to suicide and she would have ended up with everything. She asked for much less than half of what the marriage was worthy and Boogie upped the number to what he felt was fair. All the more sad that they couldn't make it work, because a woman like that is more and more uncommon these days.

    • @BobSmith-mp8ld

Even gold diggers have a conscience. The vast majority of people don't want to think of themselves as murderers.
"She asked for much less than half of what the marriage was worth"
      She didn't deserve anything lol.
      Boogie literally payed for everything.
If you think making dinner and bathing an obese person is worth half of boogies net worth, you are fucking idiot.
Boogie didn't even get sex, he payed half of net worth for a care taker.

    • @ben76326
      @ben76326 6 років тому +19

Bob Smith she most definitely was entitled to quite a bit. She was his physical care taker enabling him to make videos, mangaged the books (for both the house hold and business), was a big part about making business decisions, and boogie even said she came up with a couple of the Fransis skits. Although she never could have part of the business as boogie ultimately is the business, she definitely helped build it into what it became.
And because she was doing all of that she could not reasonably work a lot as the business grew. So she shouldn't just be left homeless and with nothing for wanting a divorce.

    • @BobSmith-mp8ld

Live with guy for 4 years.
Take care of him and the house while he pays 100% of the bills.
Eat tons of food and make yourself fat while he sits on a computer all day making content for his fans to pay the bills.
Go out and fuck dudes for 4 years behind his back because he is too fat to have sex.
Realize that he is stressed out from making youtube content all day, nag and bitch at him anyway.
When he snaps and gets angry at you, claim to be the victim
Divorce him after he gets surgery to help save his life cause you don't want to wait to collect.
Don't even have courtesy to wait till he has recovered to finalize divorce.
Demand half his net worth even though he took care of you for 4 years, while you rode dicks and turned yourself into a land whale.
What a time to be alive, when there are people retarded enough to defend behavior like this.

Good idea in concept but what you don't know if that they are a quite flimsy piece of documentation and can still be easily broken by the lawyers. Not kidding, look it up. You're not safe no matter what unfortunately. Unless you just don't get married... but then if you have kids, the woman will get all the custody rights in that situation and there's nothing to protect the man or give him any rights to his children. Quite a fucked up part of our society if you ask me.
