I would be worried about the backrest falling apart and collapsing during a heavy rep. The base is obviously solid and will hold up to anything, but the mechanism for the backrest looks like it would break with any real weight on it.
Yeah fair comment , but at the end of the day it's a home garage bench , not commercial standard , my heavy incline days are numbered, it comfortably handles my 75 - 80 lbs dumbells for reps (incline) ....in regards to the rear block potentially slipping, , I have added a removable metal bracket just in case , Train hard Bro 🏋️♂️
@@wallytrinc9885 That was also my concern, even though I was mesmerised watching the build. I've even felt shaky on non-commercial steel adjustable benches. The addition of the block at the low incline was good solution. However...my grandad apparently made a wooden bench for my uncle in the 1960s. This is before my time and I don't even remember it. The base was made from old wooden railway sleepers. Flat bench though. His younger brother, my other uncle, got jacked using it. There's a photo from 1972 of him posing in his undies.😅 Good video, I enjoyed it.
Wally, I watched spellbound for the entire video. I can't tell you how inspiring it was to see such precise cuts, fitments, and woodcraft. Incredible. Now I'm totally obsessed with building a bench like this myself. Thank you for sharing your process in such detail! May I ask, what is that black U shaped metal piece you used for the handle? @21:08 Is that purloined from a rolling suitcase or is it from a store as is? Lastly, "Wally Wood" is the name of one of my favorite comic artists from the golden age. Will be watching more of your vids. Keep up the incredible work, my friend!
''WoW'' You win ,,, this is the best compliment I have received on my little channel. ''Ever'' I put a lot of thought & effort on this bench - thank you for noticing . The U shaped metal piece you are referring to is a guide(s) fitted on each side of a Makita drop saw , which is useless to me as I have made myself a wooden saw bench complete with fence line. Have a nice day my friend. 🙏

Gracias desde Australia ,,,me alegra que te gusta !!! Viva Mexico. ,,
What is the name of the song used at the start?
Tom Jeans Short .
There's a photo from 1972 of him posing in his undies.😅 Good video, I enjoyed it.
best wooden adjustable bench !! wow !
thank you , glad you like it .
Thanks for such Amazing work
But we need dimensions to execute one like this
thanks ,,,glad you like it,,,, please tell me which dimensions in particular,,,I may have not included .
Hermoso trabajo felicidades maestro
Muchas gracias mi nuevo mejor amigo 🙏
How much is this if you gonna sell?
Wally, I watched spellbound for the entire video. I can't tell you how inspiring it was to see such precise cuts, fitments, and woodcraft. Incredible. Now I'm totally obsessed with building a bench like this myself. Thank you for sharing your process in such detail!
May I ask, what is that black U shaped metal piece you used for the handle? @21:08
Is that purloined from a rolling suitcase or is it from a store as is?
Lastly, "Wally Wood" is the name of one of my favorite comic artists from the golden age.
Will be watching more of your vids. Keep up the incredible work, my friend!
''WoW''
You win ,,, this is the best compliment I have received on my little channel. ''Ever''
I put a lot of thought & effort on this bench - thank you for noticing .
The U shaped metal piece you are referring to is a guide(s) fitted on each side of a Makita drop saw , which is useless to me as I have made myself a wooden saw bench complete with fence line.
Have a nice day my friend. 🙏
@@wallytrinc9885 Ah, thanks for solving the mystery! Looking forward to your next project. Best regards!
Wow uno de los mejores en diseño ❤
Gracias Amigo 🙏
Wow, I've been looking around to build a bench and this is the best thus far, I'm ready to Build this, any plans available ?? but the video is a good tutorial
G'day Alex , good question, I don't have any plans at the moment , time permitting I should draft / save my plans on PDF - perhaps post it on Pinterest....this is all new to me
@@wallytrinc9885 That would be Creat, I can wing it following Videos but plans would make it so much easier, I will be buying the needed products and start building this, making for my son who is just starting to work out, This By far is the best I've seen Thank you for sharing Cheers
Medidas de la madera para hacer el banco se ejerció
smashing job on it... definitely not a cost-savings project, as the materials and work that went into it, not to mention the amount of tools needed, would far outweigh the cost of a good solid bench available from sports shops. Nice to be able to stand back and say "I made that" though
Thanks for your comment Derek , glad you like the video .

Best DIY gym bench I have seen so far. Puts my bench to shame. Awesome build. Only thing I hate about this video is having to convert mm to inches. 👍
