- Recently, UA-camr Sloan (Slo4n) made a video about the film The Sound of Freedom supposedly being suppressed by major media companies. This isn't the first time he's spread baseless conspiracy theories that perpetuate harmful myths, but this may be his most egregious yet.

There are actually a handful of these organizations funded by various political groups that have well-meaning sounding “save the children” type names and tag lines but aren’t reputable. It’s so hard these days to spot them and I just recommend that people do research on organizations like this when they come across them. As someone that spent nearly a decade involved in anti-trafficking awareness work years ago it has been frustrating to watch them peddle a lot of damaging myths about what trafficking looks like in recent years.
Ugh I too got an increasingly bad vibe from Sloan’s content until I stopped watching him a few months back, so I’m not entirely surprised with him doing this. Annie Elise also promoted SoF though and I was really disappointed in her.
Thank you for speaking about this! I used to love his channel but this video was the last straw. Not only does he not research his videos, he doesn’t credit when using clips from other UA-cam channels (which is why he has like two strikes against his channel).

Definitely. Especially with dragging an old tabloid theory that Mary Kate had something to do with Heat Ledger's death like when I saw that video title I was like "oh come on!"
I was SO disappointed to see him making a video about SOF. Ive now lost two of my favorite youtubers to this. Just so incredibly irresponsible and a disgusting thing to promote with ones platform and privilege

It doesn't surprise me at all, as Sloan has made wild accusations left, right, and center. This includes against someone I personally knew (murder, no less.) He's toxic.
Hearing him defending Sound of Freedom definitely makes me lokk at him lile "oh he's really gone down the rabbit hole". Once he made a video trying to tie Mary Kate Olsen to Heath Ledger's death i knew something was off with him
I unfollowed him awhile back I can’t remember what it was that made me think… I can’t support this. It was some claim or comment that just was not it. It was several months ago and I feel like it was a transphobic issue but I can’t remember.

Yes! I’m a SLOAN sub but that video made me feel bad and couldn’t even finish it
I never got into Sloan, watched for a little while because a couple of other channels that I watch mentioned him. Agree that he has surface level takes on the things he talks about. Him saying how do they know the demographics for how children are kidnaped (or who is doing it) is concerning and really does make you wonder if he has critical research skills or is just playing devils advocate with any information.
Yeah I watched some of his videos because Mila Tequila recommended him in a video in one of her Amanda Bynes videos and mentioned how Slo4n would make it sound believable that those fake Twitter profiles were from Amanda Bynes herself but were clearly not
