Lovely work guys, the engine cleaned up very well. Great to see the differences in the sandwich plates, very interesting the tip to to get the pilot bearing out , looking forward to the next one getting it going 👌

I use a piece of sandwich bread to remove pilot bushings also...

Cracking video so are these 760 gle engines that rare? Same question how to extract more power- are the bores sleeved? Cheers

Hi mate, thanks glad you like the vid, there is a part 2 on the channel too, yes the 760s are probly rarer than the deloreans now due to the engines being harvested 🙈 the bores have liners in them, dont know if these can be bored, all the best MEC

Cool Video! Besides the sandwich plate - what else is the difference between the renault an the delorean engine, especially regarding the power difference?

Hi thanks for the comment ! The 2.7 renault has a few differences like no port in the head for a temp sensor, It also has an extra hole in the head which isnt used and has to be blocked off and a shallower sump, im not 100% on the power of tge renault 2.7, i know the standard delorean engine is 130bhp and the volvo version we have just put in is 160bhp, also the volvo fueling is different and does away with the lamda and the frequency valve, hope this helps 👍👍regards MEC 👍👍

Hi mate, they different pistons which ups the compression, there are also some differences in the fuel system with less emmision control, hope this helps

Hi, we were very lucky, my friend Dan found a 760 that had an electrical engine fire and we managed to buy the engine and extract it from under all the molton plastic ! 👍👍

@@mec-tec any suggestions on where one could look at getting a similar engine? Or any tips on adding some additional power to the stock federalized PRV? Something that adds power but keeps the the engine civilized and true to its K-Jet V6 form?

They are a bit hard come by, constant searching online is the main place, ebay etc, i dont know of any for sale at the moment, to get a bit more power out the stock engine, a free flow exhaust and volvo fueling is a good start point, there have been different cams known to be put in too, hope this helps MEC 👍👍
