- The Rolling Stones
Brian Jones, a musical pioneer and versatile instrumentalist, served as a profound source of inspiration for The Rolling Stones during their formative years. His innovative spirit and diverse musical talents laid the groundwork for the band's early success. Jones notably introduced slide guitar to the British music scene and infused his deep passion for blues into the fabric of The Rolling Stones' sound at the outset. His contributions, particularly in the band's nascent stage, significantly enriched the singles that propelled The Rolling Stones to the summits of the pop charts. Beyond his musical prowess, Jones' distinct fashion sense and iconic hairstyle captivated audiences of all genders, influencing bands on both sides of the Atlantic.
Born Lewis Brian Hopkin Jones on February 28, 1942, at the Park Nursing Home in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, he hailed from a well-off, middle-class family. Jones received his education at a prestigious junior school and later secured a spot at a local grammar school, where he demonstrated exceptional academic performance. Despite his father's aspirations for him to pursue a university education and perhaps follow in his musical footsteps, Jones harbored an unwavering passion for music.
Brian's musical genius didn't extend to composing, yet his imprint is vividly present across numerous Stones recordings. His mastery shines through on tracks like "Ruby Tuesday, Lady Zane and Dandelion."

Ι am NEVER tired to learn something new about Brian Jones 🙏🎸💎..A gifted young beautiful musician who sadly passed so young away😢..Love you Brian ❤
Brian Jones was totally ahead of the game in figuring out dulcimer . The only dulcimer player I’d heard of at the time was Richard Farina, a friend of Dylan’s who also played it on a Judy Collins LP. Brian befriended Richard Farina and picked up dulcimer from him. Prior to that, you had traditional folk musicians like Jean Ritchie.
"In 1966, I witnessed, on numerous occasions, the remarkable spell Brian would cast while working in the recording studio. Mick and Keith would bring songs in, Brian would listen and effectively take charge, and everyone was in awe of him. He was a real perfectionist. While recording the recorder part in Ruby Tuesday he explained to me that he had to do it over again as he had been a quarter tone off tune."--Prince Stash Klossowski de Rola (artist and friend of the Stones) in Brian Jones: Butterfly in the Park.
The Stones were far from poster children for clean living. Brian sacking was calculated for commercial pop. Jones deserved better mates not expulsion.
your post makes no sense the Stones abandoned and distanced themselves from pop after Brian's sacking
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you! You too!
Danke! ....🌻....
Die früheren Jahre waren die Beste mit Brian Jones, Wilma🙏😘
@@elenikorkodelaki2695 👍...du bist schon ein großer Fan von Bryan Jones...🎯...

@@elenikorkodelaki2695 👌🎼🎶🌷ebenfalls Grüße....🌻...
"Brian was a brilliant, fluent multi-instrumentalist, he was the one who founded the Rolling Stones and he had the creative vision that helped them to evolve organically from a mop-top blues-pop group into the mystical rock gods they became--something that many people today might not realise."--Mick Fleetwood
I don't agree, sorry with the title ..the the lost chapter... BRIAN JONES 🌟 will be always remembered as the FOUNDER and the MOST important talented musician of the STONES ❤
Thanks for watching! The "lost chapter" might need a footnote for Brian Jones, the unsung hero of The Stones. Totally get your point about Brian Jones, he definitely deserves more recognition! 🎶💕😊
@@RockinRollinOne THANK YOU for your answer!👍
@@per-arnemoa103 I understand you! But i prefer to say ... They were never the same without Brian! 😔.. They lost their magic 🪄 touch 🙏🎸💎 Brian Jones was special in everything! The original Rolling Stone 🎸
@@elenikorkodelaki2695l bought the 1970 album, Get Yer yayas Out. Regretted it, and did not care about Stones anymore..
@@elenikorkodelaki2695 they must have done something right , they still touring and still voted the best rock band in history . Even without him . 🎸
I agree. So that's how it works? Majority kicks you out of a band?
Imagined if he paired up with Robert Fripp
As Keith saidvin later years we were all doing drugs But Brian was doing to much and the harder stuff didn't know when to stop couldn't function
and what about his contributions to the songs , out of time and under my thumb and the Beatles song baby you're a rich man
Without Brian its not the stones... even not there his embellishments created the band's ethos that was carried on to an extent. It had to have influenced the boys going forward.
Shoddy research. Marianne Faithfull was Mick's girlfriend not Brian's.
Thanks for watching!
Of course I did my research! She was Mick's girlfriend, and then Brian's!
Bill Wyman said: "Marianne you know, when she gave up with Mick, she went with Brian, and then she went with Keith, so she went with three of them". (Brian Jones and The Stones 2023 - BBC Two).
Brian was a musical genius… but no one made him became in the end… too many barbiturates and police busts did Brian in… barbiturates is why he drowned… now his reasons he had for his drug use are many fore sure… 😢
If you gave Mick a pencil and paper, they would be unable to duplicate the music, let alone the style of writing Jones did in the golden area of their success. Why should they own up to it? Better to keep the public fooled so they make more money. Listen to "Angry" the new single and you will understand there is a major difference in musical sophistication. His grave is empty, and his death was faked.
