    All i can say is EPICNESS...Dude don't even have a jack or ramp, uses a 1/2 cut 2 liter bottle as a funnel, drops the oil filter when he says ''becareful not to drop the oil filter''..did a pretty damn clean job vs. people using jacks or ramp. props brotha, good job.

    Suggestion, put a small kitchen garbage bag around and under the oil filter before removing it so that the oil spills into the bag. If you don't you'll have a huge oil mess on the axle shaft and chassis. The chassis has cutouts in it that the oil drips into and it's a huge pain to clean all that up, and when you don't clean it up it ends up burning when the engine gets hot. Another thought, remove the oil filler plug before draining the oil, it allows the oil to more freely flow out the drain hole. Another suggestion, put more oil into the new filter before installing it, get it as full as you can without it spilling out when installing.

    It should be included in your 4.7 quarts. The amount of oil you put in the oil filter is not significant, so I wouldnt worry about it too much. Let the new oil settle down for a few minutes and then use dipstick to check the oil level. As long as oil is between two marks on the dipstick, you are good to go.

    And also, a tip: Instead of pouring new oil on the oil filter, use your old one and smudge them together or get some with your finger and rub it on the rubber ring. It's also easier to unscrew and screw in the oil filter from underneath the car.

    This may not be the place to ask, but I have this issue on my RSX and want to shoot my shot.
    Intermittently, when i've gone to perform hill starts (usually making a left turn), i'll be engaging first gear and proceeding normally, when suddenly my engine hesitates and starts struggling to move. It picks back up again after a second or two, but i'm worried it's going to break something soon. I've had the low oil pressure light flash at one of these instances, when I know the oil is fine. If i was on the low side of oil, not empty, would the incline from the hill offset the engine's ability to pump oil from the pan?
    my other thoughts lie in the spark plugs, or potentially the MTF, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
    also BC represent!

    • @MorozovAutomotive
      @MorozovAutomotive  4 роки тому +2

      It could be a few reasons for engine hesitation but definitely not the oil level offset due to hill incline. Oil pressure light flashes because of RPM drop. Before more serious and expensive investigation I would try professional cleaning of the throttle body and injectors, especially if never performed such procedure at your car before. You might be surprised what the difference in engine performance it could make. After that- spark plug replacement if it is due. You just need to find right store that has this particular equipment and chemicals, and see what they are doing. Black cloud from exhaust at the beginning of the process means that fuel system was really clogged for a long time.
