This is an unpopular opinion, but this track is excruciatingly underrated. I've probably listened to this one more than Sincerity and It's not Living combined.
Just a cute story of how I got to know The 1975: I sat next to my friend in class, she was writing the lyrics to this song in her notebook and I just thought she made it up and it was really clever. I asked her what it was and she said it's the lyrics to a song she likes, I asked her the name of the song and listened to it. I just felt something coming alive inside of me when I first heard this song. She sent me a list of more songs by The 1975 and I fell in love with this band. When I heard this song again now I had chills. They're so talented, each and every one of them. Wonderful band with such strong opinions and lyrics. Thanks for reading, hope you have a wonderful day.
Imagine being the first time seeing the band and seeing matty hitting thr skrtt and acting like a mad man in auto tune They'd be like 😳😳😳 wtf is this band
idk if it's just me but like the switching between silly carefree body language and even like hitting the woah and intense doubled-over screaming is like... chilling. bc that's the general attitude so many people, including myself, have towards gun control, the climate crisis, etc. not knowing how to handle things and switching between ignoring it and breaking down. holy fuck matty
I am 71 years old, discovered this band only about a year ago. The 1975 is my favorite band now. I love the melody of the music, the lyrics, and I think they are all gorgeous and hot looking. And no, I am not a dirty old lady LOL 😂😂😂
There is definitely a lot of young people but not everyone. I was alone in general admission pit and had zero issues. I HIGHLY recommend seeing them live!!
I love this Matty personality. The person he is in “give yourself a try” “people” “frail state of mind” and in “change of heart”...I’d love to see those played up more live 🤩🤓MY FAVORITE BAND IN A WORLD WHERE I DONT HAVE FAVORITES
Still one of the best live performances they've ever done. The PASSION in Matty's voice, Hann & Ross are so focused and absorbed. This song is truly a masterpiece, I feel so emotional :')
this is so raw. it's so good. it's so relevant. sometimes i think that matty "pushes" it a bit, the whole eccentric bit, but no, he's actually a genius.
This is hands down the best version of this song. Every time I hear the album version I always sing out loud the little screams he does between verses on this version. 😂
the 1975 is definitely one of the most underrated band in the contemporary music era. And I think they have so much potential making the best album. Love those bois
This song is so overwhelming as it should be. You could feel the emotion and its the fucking best thing ever.
oh i think ur one of the best thing

I noticed that too xD
fucking mood
I think about this comment every time I listen to the song it’s so funny
I also found this fucking hilarious.
It's the best thing 😂
I wasn't expecting Matty to give an even more intense live performance than he game on the studio version, he was really pushing his voice there
RIGHT?! I felt that emotion.
I think with how things are going rn especially with El Paso , it throve him to be more out there in his performance
Purplepentapus157 With all the mass shootings these last 2 weeks I’m sure he’s trying to push the issue
Joanna Chavez this was performed before the recent shootings
Fabulous
The emotion in his voice hits me every time wow
Hits me harder than Matty hits the woah
I wanna like but I don't wanna ruin the 666 😭

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what he was going for!!😂
Hahahaha Perfect!
LOL yur hilarious
okay but adam and ross bopping their heads is the cutest thing i’ve ever seen
Have you ever seen I like it when you sleep live
I love the fact that Matty just hit the woah on live US tv while singing about gun laws... wow
I read your comment just as it happened on screen
he knows his audience 😂
also what he said during their show in Alabama about the abortion laws!!! I stan the 1975 so much they're so aweosme???
I didnt even know they aired james corden in america
Too bad no one knew he was singing about gun laws because he was especially inaudible in this
I just hope that people who watched/heard them for the first time don't think that Matty uses that autotune in every single song lmao
Omg true story
They do, I hope they listen to other songs
This
Everytime i play this song to someone they think they always use this much autotune hahaha
I hope so 😅
Please we need a carpool karaoke 💔

I love how matty pushes the camera away from him so that his George,Adam and Ross have screen time and not just him.
"would you please stop framing me, there's like a whole band to your left"

did matty just hit the woah i-
kenzie koryn he actually does that a lot during shows he did it at weekend 2 of Coachella during their set
He does it live pretty often. Which I didn’t know until I saw it and everyone lost it😂

this dude is charismatic. plus sitting on this chair while singing this, is what's the song about
Is it even possible to express in words how much i love this band
there’s just something about this song i can’t explain.
just something.
The ballad of me and my brain
The autotune?
Mimicking the cringe side of our generation. The criticism of Internet, American culture, music scene, Instagram, supreme, violence, etc.
I agree I’ve always put this on when I need a waking up at work the auto tune does something to my heart

i'm so excited for their new era
at 2:56 did anyone else here that tiny “oh” when matty jumped😂
Christina T ahhahahahahha made my day
Reminds me of Travis Scott falling in auto tune, honestly
the most necessary song they could've ever performed on live American tv... thank you even 3 years later
Saw this live at the hangout and it was the best performance I’ve ever seen.
God Bless
The 1975
I hope the locals know that Matty can actually sing without auto tune :(

This is truly one of Matt Healy's best performances. Super heartfelt and emotionally connected. Just fantastic.
This message is so important. I wish I could put it into words they way they seem to do so effortlessly
Matty doesn't sing, he performs. It's brilliant.
Can we give a shout out to his backup dancers? Those women are amazing
They are. But why?!
Cat violentred they dance in sync and non stop for everything. If you see them in concert, those two don’t stop moving for a whole 2 hour set.
Spencer B. It’s super impressive that they’ve played all the shows with them lately. They add a lot to the live show
No
Safat Ahmed to each their own, but it’s always nice to give credit where credit is due
3:01 Matty: *Slaps roof of the keyboard* This beauty can play a fine tune
I LOVE THAT THE TWINS ARE HAVING THE BEST TIME AND CANT STOP SMILING

this is my absolute favorite performance of this song and the fact its on an american talk show adds so much to it
…but it’s not on an american talk show. James Corden is British.
@@gazevedo1025 yea I meant that his show is made for american tv
I’m so in love with this man. Matty just like teach me everything you know
He sounds exactly like this at concerts and it’s so loud and you really feel something when he sings it, it was a real magical moment for me

Here after Nashville. This song and performance perfectly encapsulates how it feels to be a young American student right now. When is enough enough?
I adore this band even though I'm old enough to be their mother. I would be hesitant to go to a concert but would truly love to see them live.
There is definitely a lot of young people but not everyone. I was alone in general admission pit and had zero issues. I HIGHLY recommend seeing them live!!
I’m 49 and am obsessed. Go to a concert. You won’t regret it!
Don't be hesitant! Trust me it's a different experience seeing them live, i was completely blown away
i’ve watched this performance so many times
this is such a perfect video in every sense, and then the last 10 seconds happen
He goes off during this song as he should. It’s a very important song. ❤️❤️
