Disliking something is not the same as having anxiety. He dislikes performing on TV compared to performing at a concert, I think that's the case with every musician. This dude is a professional at this, it wasn't hard for him.

TrundleMcDingus Eh, it could depend on the person, honestly. For instance, I live with anxiety everyday and it’s at its worse when I had to do public speaking in front of people. However, I didn’t have any issue or felt any anxiety when I had to talk to hundreds of fans each night when working at a music venue. Even though, giving presentations has less people, I had more anxiety. I think for some people, it comes down the particular situations in which they feel comfortable or not, and how their anxiety affects them. While both performances seem the same, TV might be incredibly uncomfortable as anyone can be watching, as opposed to a concert of theirs where he’s performing to legitimate fans (which may lessen anxiety as there’s a familiarity there). I definitely can’t speak for him, but it’s a possibility.
* to clarify to anyone - the him disliking tv performances came from his comment at the show I attended the next day after this performance, right before they played fsom, which he mentioned he doesn’t like performing on tv.

Ricardo Costa I do agree that they have a lot of content moving towards the electronic side of thing, but George is largely responsible for the production choices in everything they do, so I. Sure if he was really feeling blasting some crazy beats he’d try to go for that too. I could be wrong but that’s just my take on it

Anyone notice this is the same jam as TOOTIME? I heard the similarity instantly, it’s like a contrasting vibe and song, you could layer them both together. This band are so ahead of the time, been a hardcore fan since day one.

Yeah if you check the annotations of the lyrics on Genius there’s a cool thought on how TOOTIME’s lyrics are the exact opposite of Frail State of Mind.
Continuity is The 1975. It's different enough that it's not redundant but similar enough that he's giving you more of what you want. Almost a franchise filmmaking approach. The 1975 are brilliant.

don’t really get the issue with this song. apart from “people” the 1975 have always been a pretty fluffy band, it’s not like metalheads ever really had a reason to give a listen?? the quiet tone of this song really fits in with the gentle lyrics about social anxiety and being alone in that. loud music wouldn’t fit that message. obviously people who don’t struggle with anxiety/depression- more specifically social anxiety- won’t relate to it, but that’s not really a reason to insult the song😐 sincerity is scary & somebody else are quieter songs too but they’re still adored so idgi

In my opinion, their music is an experience you have to get live and in person, because it’s hard to understand on a small tv show platform what it is about. Their live shows with all those lights, images, and the smallest sounds and the bass is what really hits you when you’re there. You can maybe get it in a very turned up car stereo with the bass all the way up, but you’re missing the visuals. Every time I’ve listened to an album, I form my favorites hearing wise, but then I get to a live show and it completely flips because the way they will perform will completely hit me in my emotions and the song I didn’t think of twice will be my favorite. So don’t hate on them or try to understand them, because you haven’t experienced it, so you don’t get it.
So excited for San Diego! Haven’t seen them since the O2 in 2016.
Completely agree even though I still think that this is sick, I saw them live for the first time at Leeds festival this year and it was out of this world, the best act in the entire artist and the atmosphere is unlike any other

I’m 71 years old and only really discovered The 1975 maybe a year ago. They are my new favorite band. Thank God Matty got clean from drugs….. I have seen way too many musicians, and others, dying from drugs. It’s nice to have a happy ending to this band. This performance was very good and the visuals were very beautiful. For people commenting negative things I’d like you to try and write/ produce your own music. Then preform it making sure visuals and sounds are all in order. This was VERY WELL executed.
Saw them for the 1st time in Camden, NJ Saturday on the first day of their North American tour leg and being a fan of them since I was about 14 years old, they sound AMAZING live. Sounds right off the record... actually even better👍🏻
