Starter Replacement | 1989 Celica GTS ST162 (3SGE)

The celica ST162 is notabli known for having issues with the motor starter. One of the things to check before doing any modifications (or giving up) is to make sure the starter is working properly.
If none of these methods help, it is importanto to consider completing the starter modification found in many forums.
The tools needed for this job are:
14mm socket
10mm socket (battery)
Automotive Grease

Anyone struggling with stuck rusted downpipe bolts
You don't have to undo the exhaust at all
You can just take the oil filter off, remove the dipstick bracket thing, and pull starter out that way
