Not the most common causes here but don't forget to: 1. Check your oil. An oil starved engine, if it hasn't locked up completely, can cause the motor and starter to drag. Of course, if that's your problem, the only real remedy is a new or rebuilt engine. 2. Remove the serpentine belt. If it cranks normal without the serpentine belt on, one of the pulleys is locking up or dragging. I've seen locked up A/C compressors do this, and heard of alternators locking up too.
Peace be upon you. I am Ali from Iraq. I have a 2012 Elantra. I have the engine light on, and when I check with my device, I have the code p0451. Please, what is this malfunction and where is it located exactly.. Greetings.
That would be be an Evap code which could be as simple as a loose gas cap, but more likely it’s a cracked or dry rotted hose on the motor, check your hoses around the throttle body and intake and master cylinder. A good way to check this is spray some carb cleaner spray at suspect areas and if the idle speed changes you’ve found your leak.
My car sometimes have a slow crank. Took it to get it tested and they said battery, alternator and starter is good but the battery wasn’t getting a charge like it should. They cleaned corrosion off but only one side since it was visible and the car started up great for a few days then I get a slow crank again. What could cause this? Also no engine light either
My 88 ford has the selenoid on the front fender. After driving, the van wont start Ill have to wait 30 min before it turns over. I have a heat shield around the starter and a wrap on the starter itself. What gives?
Check wires first. If it's not the wires then you got a bad starter. You can remove the starter, disassemble and clean it with brake cleaner, then if you're lucky you'll get a couple more years out of it.
My car battery had acid leaking out. Switched it out, my car started but had a slow crank. So I drove it home, turned it off, a few hours later, no crank, just a click. Looks like I need a new starter lol
My problem on my 2006 chrysler 300 is that when I turn my key switch it takes at least 5 seconds until my car actually cranks do anyone kno what that problem i put on a new starter still not working

So if it cranks slow when cold, but starts right up when warm, is that an indication of a dying battery?
What was the reason?
@@Hundal22UA-cam i did have a dying battery. Im not sure if other issues might cause the same symptoms, however.
Yes, batteries don't like the cold to begin with, especially if bad.
Thanks 😊
If the starter is bad when you start the car will it make a burning smell when it starts?
If the brushes are burning up. Usually you can have someone crank it and see smoke come out of the starter
I have a problem with my 1991 Corolla 1.6 the starter swings very slow although the battery is new.
get your starter checked my brother.

Where is your accent from?
The jungle of the bootymen
This guy talked so much and said nothing helpful
Not really , it did help
First!
subject matter is vital here, but sir..let someone w/o accent do the dialogue. Replaying..I got just 70% of what you said.
today i learned bdushes=brushes. gdease=grease. wasn't very hard to understand tho
It sounds like he’s got a marble stuck in his voice box. Or he’s Jean girard and just wants everyone to know that crepes are better than pancakes.
If English is your first language it’s easy but if it’s not then accents are hard to understand
From his perspective he doesn't have an accent. I this guy might watch an "American" video and say the same thing about it. Just a thought...
I heard 'guys"
