Video Liner Notes:
"Don’t Look Down is the opening track from the Out Of The Cradle album. A few years previous, I had made the decision to take leave of Fleetwood Mac because the creative and social environment had gotten too toxic due to other band members’ alcohol and drug use. Out Of The Cradle was my first solo outing in the wake of that, as well as the first time I’d toured in support of a solo album.
The sense of having begun a new chapter is tangible in both the song and the video. Stylistically, Don’t Look Down is an exercise in a sort of musical “cubism”, the shapes of the choruses broken down into facets, much like a Picasso painting. Lyrically, the song celebrates the excitement and potential for growth that exists when one goes outside one’s comfort zone. Don’t Look Down is a celebration of taking a leap of faith.
In putting a live show together for the tour, I chose an unconventional format. The band consisted of five guitarists, two percussionists, a drummer, a bass player and a keyboardist. The video, shot on tour in a documentary style, reveals the ten of us in the throes of forward motion, sharing a deeply felt communal spirit and sense of possibility." - Lindsey Buckingham

Don't look down, get lost into Lindsey Buckingham's music as the virus will go away! Lindsey such an amazing guitarist, singer and songwriter.
Completely self taught genius guitarist and songwriter from a supergroup releases perfect pop song that goes nowhere. How does this man not get more recognition?
I was wondering the same thing. He must've not wanted to do all the touring and interviews etc. Superstardom exacts super high sacrifices. He gets to be an amazing artist, live quite well and not have to work a crappy job. Sounds good to me. (Didn't know he was self-taught! That is truly genius)
@@SandyCheeks63564live quite well? He's a multi-millionaire.
What you guys? No touring? He toured the world with Fleetwood Mac!😊
Probably because we, his fans get it, while the masses do not.
Health issues among other things@@kerryforrest6147
Never knew this vid existed! Lindsey has been so generous with DVDs from his other tours that I wish he'd give us a legit release from this (92) tour. Loved the thunderous playing on this tour...just wish it wasn't all bootlegs and radio releases.
This whole album is still incredible to this day. Remember buying it the day it was released in ‘92
Out of the Cradle should have been a massive it. If only quality = sales.
Today it is its 28th anniversary...
Michael Lomenzo He had the talent in that duo. She sounded like many others who didn’t get an airing as they weren’t in Fleetwood Mac. She only got the gig because he insisted she came with him whom they really wanted as a musician. She hit the jackpot in effect.
So do I. It was my first CD. Still love it, especially these wonderful little preludes in front of the titles.
@@Kate1Chopin So you are talking about Stevie Knicks?
Why does this man not get any more credit than he does? Kick ass finger work.
Because he's subtle rather than flashy. Doesn't show off.
very kick assery going on there!!!
That’s what she said
Without a doubt......
and a cute little irish dance at about 2:50...
Guess what, I'm 16 and I introduced my dad 959) to your solo work. This is the FIRST time I introduced my dad to rock instead of the other way around. Until this, he only knew you from Fleetwood Mac. I am also really excited about April 5th when I'm going to your concert with my dad!!!!!!!
He's more interesting than the other 4 put together, along with Peter Green [the other genius that was in the band] he's one of the guitar greats of all time, and oooooh what a voice....!
Skilled guitarist and extraordinary composer. I hope for more Out Of The Cradle videos.
Best part of Fleetwood Mac...unbeatable talent.
He turly made that group - but with great contributions by Christine & Stevie
Amazing guitarist! Wow - I think he is self taught - correct?
'
Terri very correct. Taught himself from John Stewart’s music. As far as I know he can’t even read music
He’s never taken a guitar lesson in his life
Terri yes !
Okay. Officially obsessed with this song! Keep singing it all day in my head!
Yes,
Yes. I my same feeling. He is so good. I' m nervös about his European Tour next year. And this guy danced. Wow!
Most underrated guitarist of all time
Absolutely 100% correct.
He might be but not the best
Thank you. Say it louder.
His outro guitar solos are the best in the world
Him and Alex Lifeson
Heard this once or twice 30 years ago and recognized it when I heard the chorus. Buckingham never really got his due, and was the best part of Fleetwood Mac 2.0 (California FWM).
This video is great, I'm glad it's getting a revival on here.
I remember the day I bought this album on CD. I walked past a music store in a mall and saw the CD cases on display. It took a moment for me to register the painting on the CD box as Lindsey. I thought, "Say, that sorta looks like Lindsey....Wait a minute, that IS Lindsey!" Moments later, I'd bought the CD. This is definitely one of my favorite songs from Lindsey's solo career. Thanks for uploading these videos!
It's hard to explain but this feels like the most early 90's thing ever
I get this. The video “reeks” of 1992.
You’re a genius Lindsey ❤️ Love it !
I wish this video had more guitarists.
Once I saw this video pop up, I already knew today was going to be a good day :) Amazing guitarist, his musical style is very influential on me! Thanks Lindsey!
Helped me when i was sad a few days ago over my deceased hubby..1 yr in May
It sounds like some Spanish guitar influence style at times.
@@leneasmith1501 My best wishes to you. Never forget the good times with your husband when you need some cheering up. My husband is 5 years older than me (we’re 69 and 74) and I live with the fear of losing him every single day since his heart attack 2 months ago. The high point of my day now is when he wakes up.
I love this! I never saw this video before. This is awesome. Thanks, Lindsey! Always making my days a bit brighter!!
I just found it too..love it
I think this album really defines out good of a guitarist he is. To me his songs are hit or miss but this one rocks!
For me Out of the Cradle was Lindsey Buckingham's creative emancipation from Fleetwood Mac - demonstrating decisively he was the creative genius behind Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie's immense contributions notwithstanding....
Perfectly stated. And he still doesn’t get enough credit up until today but I think at this point he knows it’s his cross to bear. Tortured genius.
I'll be honest, on the fence with this song. Heard it a few times in the grocery store type thing and it really stays in your head to the point where you have to listen to it to get it out of your head.
I need Lindsey Buckingham to teach me how to play guitar :-D
Vicky Wilson I want to be his guitar 😁
I'll come teach you
Lindsey seems BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WWOW amazing song! Fantastic musician and somewriter and not bad singer either! Top Shelf!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember when I bought this they day it came out I thought, "Well, it's not Go Insane, but it's still pretty good... oh hey, this is REALLY good."
Don't look down and don't look back either :)
Classic Lindsey sound.
Love it 👍🏻
Seeing him live, his guitar genius will transport you to another world.
Just hoping I will get to see him live one more time before he finally hangs up his guitar! 😊
@@195Bucks Me too. He's amazing!
Seen him in concert both with and without the Mac. Gotta say I prefer without if only because then I get to hear solo gems like this.
I saw this band during that tour - phenomenal!
Lindsey’s music and especially this album got me through my high school days in the 90’s and then into Medical School. Legendary Artist!
Saw this lineup at the Fitzgerald Theater downtown St Paul in early 90s with good friend ....hopefully Lindsey can perform after his heart issue at his perfect standards -superb video
I remember his concert back in November this was the first song he played on the set he’s definitely my favorite musician
I think this is Lindsey saying goodbye to Stevie Nicks? I've read there was a big fight when LIndsey left FM in 1987 and this was the album he wrote about his experience with FM. I can't imagine how stressful it must have been to watch the woman whose musical career you launched, bail on you, sleep with your bandmate, and get completely lost in cocaine addiction, and next another addiction! "Packing up, shacking up" from "Go Your Own Way" was rather prescient!
Thank you for posting this, Lindsey - I can't wait for more videos!
This is a really interesting mix... Usually when they mix a song, the drums are warms and the guitars are more bright and clear to complement certain nuances of the rhythm... But in this mix, the guitar is warmer, so it’s the focus of the song and it forces the drums to complement the guitar which is what he wanted to do anyways... GOAL ACCOMPLISHED LINDSEY! Very nice! I thought it was weird at first but then I listened to it and was like oh ok... ya know?
This was my underway workout jam while deployed in the 90s...
26 years ago!! WOW! He's still great!!
Don't look down. Look up to the sky! Great song!
I just love his guitar playing, his lyrics & his energy. I bet he chants now that he’s stopped taking the white stuff! Lolz
This man is perfection!
So good on the guitar most of the time no pick in his fingers. Great guitarist.
When he's not in Fleetwood Mac, He has to be replaced by 2 people. Behind the mask and now Mike Campbell and Neil Flynn . He's 2 guitars.
every time Lindsey says Dont Look Down, i dont no why it makes me laugh but i love this video, the song & Lindsey. i love his guitar playing, hes my eye candy and he has FIRE IN HIS BONES, in his spirit and im glad he is happy at home with his wife and children. i love watching him play guitar and i hope God continues to bless you bc u are a beautiful guy inside and out. so Dont Look Down (but dont fall when u walk either). sorry i just now found this 11-2-20 stay safe
Wow way better picture quality than before
Backbone of FWM.... Tremendously underrated talent and least commended. ⭐😎🤘
Thank you Lindsey for music that lifts! God knows we need lifts right now.
Absolutely beautiful guitar work. My dad bought me a guitar when I was 10, I really regret not continuing with it.
There is nothing stopping you from picking it back up.
As Lindsey himself says - don’t look down!!
@@itsbecauseimbatman True. Good point I still have one. I think I will keep at it.
Lindsey es un excelente musico. Es un genio. Saludos desde Mexicali Mexico.
The opening track to one of my alltime fave albums.
Lindsey was Fleetwood Mac. Without him they were nothing.
I still think it's funny when it first shows all 200 guitarists in a line playing together.
Possibly his finest song (the other being "Countdown").
When this comment was originally written, I would have 100% agreed with you. However, I Don’t Mind is definitely up there now
This was such a great tour. Saw him here in Phoenix at The Roxy. At one point he was telling a story about his Father and you could hear the crowd talking. He shouted at the top of his lungs to "shut the f*ck up!!!!" and that they didn't deserve to hear the rest of the story. A$$holes in the crowd.
This guy writes and plays belters everytime. Soooo underated Lindsey Buckingham. Sorry guys, I'm a bit younger...love the music.
Hes so hot and just gets better with age! Im just in awe of his talent and his integrity with how he has handled being stabbed in the back by Stevie and Mick. My heart still breaks for him! Im so glad they settled but I wish Stevie had to get in front of all of us and admit she and the others lied to the entire world and apologize to Lindsey!
Ya thats right, hats got into Stevie these days??since she quit coke
She's a bitter old woman
My gosh he's gorgeous 😍
Almost as pretty as Stevie lol
Lindsey is the reason Stevie was let into the band. He didn't turn his back on her. I absolutely love Lindsey and Christine. Stevie is good but she has ruined a lot of her talent by not giving credit to Lindsey for helping her. I bought tickets prior to them kicking him out of the band. It was not the same...he is a huge part of Fleetwood Mac. I think Stevie was behind that completely. I lost a lot of respect for her and the band.
I agree
I was always a big Fleetwood Mac fan but wasn’t aware of Lindsey’s vast music repertoire. I’ve many videos since subscribing to this channel. I need to add his music to my collection.
Everytime I watch this video, I get a smile on my face, Lindsey has a great smile
No wonder Fleetwood Mac really wanted him to join them and he agreed as long as they took Stevie Nicks as well. She got very lucky.
Saw him at the Fitzgerald theater downtown St Paul early 90s ..with this lineup. Always gives 100 per cent in concert. Anyone see him on his current tour? Missed him at Mystic Lake Labor Day weekend 2021....
Amazing song fantastic album I am not a big fan of Lindsey Buckingham but this album it's truly a masterpiece
Definitely 😁
Magic!!! I love this man ❤️
speaking as an old guy whos seen many years and much music as a passing traveler, some groups are groups for the run of their existence in Time, and any attempt for their individual players to split off and do their own thing, while i understand their desire to stand alone and create, just somehow doesnt, perhaps shouldnt, float
Out of the Cradle is an utter masterpiece, not to mention a real good stereo/speaker tester.
This was a great album - every song!
I love this song and video! It makes me happy! Lindsey so handsome here and forever! Pure talent!
Wow! FM is a fool to let you go.
Going to be one of my favorites after listening, seeing the video and reading what inspired it. We all have points in our live where we have to make the decision to depart from the usual. I also like the way the video captures the joy of musical collaboration, what fun they are having.
Gorgeous
Love this song. Thank You Lindsey
Don't remember seeing this before. Great video!
I could listen to this song all day! There's nothing else like it that I have heard.
Good old fashioned USA country style rock & roll gives me so much comfort...and I am not even from the USA ✌✌ only been on a few holidays...but I love that old fashioned style straight-talking 🎯 and a whiskey straight up 🥃 attitude.
Most underrated musician, song writer, guitarist… ever!
Simply wonderful! Enjoyed, thanks for posting!
I love this album and sound
great performer
LINDSEY! I just read the description of this video that you wrote! This is one song I could play on repeat all day!
Thank you for your contribution to the arts. You are VERY APPRECIATED!
His voice!!! I forgot about this song too!
Brilliant 🎸🥰🎶
Love your energy Lindsey ❤️❤️❤️
This song is epic and has become my anthem. I've loved it since the first time I heard it.
My most favorite LB video❤
I've been trying to learn that intro for about 2 years now...
You learn it yet?
Musical genius
"Out of the Cradle" is definitively my favourite piece of music ever composed. Listening to the opening track for the first time out of pure curiosity, I have never been so instantly connected to and understood by music. The combination of high (classical) and low (pop) sensibilities a la Brian Wilson, of idiosyncratic energy and naked vulnerability a la David Byrne, of past longing and future visions...
Which brings me to my question to you, dear internet interlopers: is there another musician that uses the classical guitar to similar effect, crafting a whole new style around it rather than simply repeating the inherited classical tradition or adding it as a flourish to an already fully formed song? The closest contenders I have found are the band Sky (combining John Williams on classical guitar with a traditional rock setup of drums, bass and keyboards) and José González (particularly on the "Live in Europe" album, where his classical guitar is infused with the String Theory orchestra to form something quite transcendental).
Love Lindsey Buckingham!
One of his best solos.
Man, that guy has it all.
I Love Lindsey's Music, ESPECIALLY This Video
His smile puts a smile on my face 😊
Love his dance in this video
Please get well soon Lindsey we want to get another Buckingham and nicks album that would be great God bless you❤
More chance of this Corona Virus going in the next week me thinks!...
Who needs Nicks when you have Buckingham?
F& Yeah! 44 years ago, I first heard him. He is a Great in his own. Thank you!
This is just the tonic you need to get through lockdown! Still one of my favourites from an amazing album.
You are a very remarkable artist you are well beyond your time trust me 🎸
The audible click track made a reappearance on Fleetwood Mac's Say You Will album. I guess Lindsey just loves leaving it in and making it a part of the rhythm section
Lindsey is an asset no matter who he is playing music with. I must say though that this ensemble musicians are very, very good. Looks like the whole group are enjoying themselves immensely. Whose the leader of the band that's made for you and me - L I N, D S E Y too bad his last name isn't mouse.
One of my favourite Lindsey tunes, feel good sound, makes me happy. Love you Lindsey. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Todo se ve como hoy en la mañana, no puedo creer que son años.
Don't look down. Just watch Lindsey.
Whoever is running this channel may want to consider changing the thumbnail for this video...also, great song and amazing talent and skill in LB
