@@MaliceInCandylandElvis couldn’t read music or write songs.
@@bid84 Most musicians weren't songwriters back then. Singers conveyed the tone and emotion of the lyrics though, bringing them to life.
@@MaliceInCandyland Yea that’s true, Tom Jones is another example of that. Artists like Prince, Van Morrison, Beck, McCartney etc can do all instruments, production and songwriting which is another level of talent.
My husband is amazing and has played 56 years like that.
Where on hell does Jason Sudeikis jump from?!!
another dimension another dimension another dimension
I’m thinking straight from heaven.
Cloud 9
It did rather seem like a huge leap into the set in this one!
He was in the rafters for that one.
they are all good - but that guy Kenan Thompson does deserve more work outside SNL ... he is pretty talented i have seen him a number of things now .. he could do so much more in my opinion
Totally agree with you. Kenan Thompson deserves more, he is probably good also in movies.
I see him playing a Phil Hartman kinda deal. He's not gonna be the lead role in anything but more of a supporting guy, he may lead sketches on SNL but he is quite frankly "the glue" for the sketches now. Soon Kate McKinnon will be leaving, far too much talent for SNL to maintain.
+Ben Harrison bums me up...the show will probably finally officially die without them...no offense to the delectable Cecily Strong...so damn cute and funny
Kenan thompson is a national treasure...what up with that?
One trick Pony.
i agree about paul simon's reaction. i think the guitar solo cannot even keep his "displeased" acting face from retaining like usually how the other guests are. i always find it hilarious they would bring all these guest stars and only one of them will talk, for a few lines. lol
Still Kenan's best character on SNL, and a damn shame they don't do this sketch anymore.
Oooooohhhhhhh weeeeeeee What's up with that?!
Jason Sudekis was pribanly tired of jumpimg around like that during the whole sketch!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I was tired just watching him... 🤣🤣
They did a Zoom one early in the pandemic.
but there's sooooo many of them. i think they did more than enough
Lavar ball, David Ortiz?
When Lindsey Buckingham started to play it was like time stopped. Wow
Facts
I like seeing artists respecting other artists' skills. Paul Simon was definitely feeling Lindsey Buckingham's solo.
Haha yeah I noticed that as well
5:40 you came for this
Stop praising musicians like they're gods. They're not.
I love how Paul Simon can't help but look at The real Lindsey with admiration when he is playing.
Paul Simon is a big fan of this skit I love how happy he is to be there!
Always thought Jason Sudeikis's character in this skit is WAY underrated. Like MVP performance, lol 1,000% consistent. Dancerific.
Love the confused look on Paul Simon's face when Lindsey is playing. He's like, "Do I smile or do I stay in character for the sketch where I am upset?"
What? I only saw him loving it and bumping his head along
@@carlyh6913 Meaning he was supposed to be upset for the sketch, but he couldn’t stay in character because he was so impressed with the playing.
They both suck.
Everything is just so random, but it oddly works.
In the finest tradition of the original SNL a "style piece" with totally absurd premise saved by talent and attitude.
Yes!
Now.. Chris CoLfer.. "we outta time"
I know dude. During his pause I caught myself saying we outa time outloud LOL!
The two Lindsey Buckingham’s facial expression are accurate 😂😂😂
This skit is just jam-packed with amazing moments.... It's too much to count, the entire thing from front to back is pure gold
Just when you think you've seen the best, BAM out comes the real LB
THIS...
NEVER gets old!!
Go Lindsey Buckingham!! He is an amazing artist; genuine.
it amazes me how they always manage to get some astonishingly famous person to just sit there, i mean how much are they paying these people
MatheusCarvalho probably nothing - it's probably just someone who happens to be in NYC/in the NBC building
MatheusCarvalho Lorne Michaels most likely has a lot of pull
They don’t pay them anything. Most celebrities are knocking on SNL’s door to get a cameo on the show. It has a tremendous amount of pull and exposure
Forty-five years strong and SNL remains THE place to show your face then be a water cooler moment & be trending on social media the next day! Believe me celebrities & or their agents ring the SNL phone off the hook or Lorne's to get on the show unless they're so super cool and rock star fabulous that it's the show that calling l them if they could. I know Paul McCartney has done the show but Lorne tried for years to get all 3 former Beatles to appear together when George Harrison was still alive. He offered them a ton of money too but they still declined.
I don't know about the rest of them, but Lorne Michaels and Paul Simon are old friends.
I can't remember where I saw him last but I think Paul Simon was on SNL back in the 80s a few times and he was always really good at playing the straight man in comedy sketches. His look when he was talking and the music started back up was priceless.
Doug Kelly I think it was on SNL, Simon was hosting and Garfunkel was the musical guest. In the bit they did together, Simin said to Garfunkel, "I knew you'd come crawling back". LMFAO.
One of the great sketches in the 70’s comes out in a Turkey 🦃 costume. Sings “Still Crazy after all these Years”. Then stops and protests because the costume is embarrassing.
Idc what anyone says, Lindsay was shredding the hell outta that Gee'tar
I love how Paul Simons starting really getting into Lindsey guitar playing... 5:53 you can tell he has total respect for Lindsey's talent
This skit should just replace SNL altogether.
Yes
FACTS!
What's Up With That the movie!!!!
LOL!
I envision a half hour show with 15 minutes of what's up with that and Barry gibb talk show 15 minutes .....I would watch religiously
I came for the Lindsey Buckingham appearance.
paul simon loves lindsey playing guitar!!!
Kenan's singing voice, comedy timing, acting, hosting...perfect!
Paul Simon just groovin to Linsdey. I love that shit.
Lindsey KILLLED that Big Love bit..check out Paul Simon's face when he's picking that out!! He's like "I can't believe he's pulling this off!!. As a bass player/guitar player I can tell you right now, that's no easy picking he's doing..that has to be one of the most difficult songs to play on guitar, period. Brilliant sketch.
This is the only reoccurring sketch that I enjoy every time.
It has never not been funny!!
Check out Paul in the background jamming to Linsey's guitar playing.
7:27 CHRIS WAS SO EXCITED TO TALK AND HE JUST GOT STUBBED I AM GONE😂😂😂😂
You had me at Paul Simon but then they masterfully place Lindsey Buckingham!!! One of my all time favorite SNL skits. What a wonderfully crazy mix of everything, the back up singers, guests, Jason S.. So funny.
being in the uk i dont always find snl skits funny, however these skits are the only ones i find consistantly funny, its oof the wall, the guy in the red track suit creases me up.
I don't think this audience understood that was the actual, real Lindsey Buckingham.
At first I didnt get it. lol I googled him lol. Love it
If they didn’t understand it, THEY DEFINITELY UNDERSTOOD AFTER THAT WICKED SOLO!!
Didn't understand. Yes, they understood.
They're too young 😭🤣
I figured it was him just by his guitar playing but it doesnt help he has a very unusual look.
