- Full list of equipment:
Fender Player Stratocaster with Dimarzio Chopper in the bridge
TC Electronic Spark Booster
Marshall Class 5
AMT Power Eater 15 (Load Box)
VOX Copperhead Drive (Marshall-in-a-box drive) used in preamp mode
Two Notes Torpedo C.A.B. M+ (VintC IR with 4x12 V30). The onboard power amp sim (PP EL34) was used with VOX Copperhead.
NB! I did not try to make them sound identical! I tweaked both to get the tone I like. With more effort, they probably can be made to sound more similar.
I like both.
That sounds pretty good
Excellent comparison! I have the Vox Mystic Edge. I love this pedal.
I was playing Mystic Edge just a few hours ago today :) I use it in preamp mode with Two Notes CAB M+. Amazing preamp! Very very Voxish.
Wow, this vox pedal sounds really good 👍
It can also do good cleans if needed! Great pedal! But I don't like it as a distortion pedal in front of an amp though.
Very good!!!
Both? I recently got Victory Sheriff preamp, which is also "Plexi in a box". Probably have to make A/B with VOX Copperhead.
Been using a Vox Silk Drive to sweeten up amp sims. Must have a Copperhead now! Ha!!
And Mystic Edge if you like VOX AC30 tones!
Higher gain: 4:37
With booster: 5:07
❤❤❤
Omg. It sounds almost identical, vox has that escense of Marshall definitely. Are they feel same touch sensitive?
Yes. Moreover, Vox cleans up much better and sound much better at very low gain, you can get cleans out of it, while this Marshall sounds very dull and dark at low gain. That is a problem of Class 5 design. Origin or Studio Vintage do cleans much better.
