You're right it's relatively cheap compared to today's prices.
But damn, that price is not very cheap for what it is.
I have a 2019 new body style bighorn and it was 40k with towing features and whatever else comes with it. These truck prices are outrageous, just within the 3 years I owned my truck
That's what I was thinking too... 41k msrp for a regular cab short bed 4x4. Yikes. It's even an older generation too...vehicle prices are out of control.
Yeah sorry, not gonna pay over 40k for a v6 full size truck
For $40k you can buy a fully restored 3/4 ton square body with Dana 60 axles, leaf springs and an engine you don't need to be a rocket scientist to work on!
@@Shiftheads - Nor did they. Less than $39,000 they received $2500 off the price and incentives. At least you can deal a bit on the Classic versions, even in the USA. Not my kind of truck mind you. Of course, it’s not my truck period!!
That price for a single cab is crazy.
They're all crazy prices bro
Totally agree! For 10k more you can get a HD (barebones as can be), with a full bed, and towing capabilities. Trying to buy a “truck” today is tough. Impossible. They are all luxury cars now, and just don’t fit folks needs that need a working vehicle addition.
Especially for a previous generation bare bones model.
I paid $31.5k for a 2018 Tundra double cab 4x4 with a 5.7 v8 and an 8 foot bed back in 2018. These prices are stupid.
Big time. Lots of people seem to be fine with it though. More money than brains I guess?
I’m glad to see that you’re buying something that’s not 80k, personally I like the base model trucks, the only thing I would add would be a V8 with a tow pkg, 3.91 limited slip or possibly a locking differential if I were buying it.
Our company bought 3 of these trucks with 3.6 pentastar, all 3 lost their rocker arms ( followers) at about 60,000 mi. This is a very common with these engines called the PENTASTAR TICK. Repair cost was about $ 3500 each !
Same thing happened to us , what's going to go next ?
By the elder Gods ...
Yeah even at 35k drive out seems absolutely insane for this truck that looks 12 years old already. 🤯
It's a simple nice truck your not buying a luxury car
It all relative
@@tomstarcevich1147 yeah thats why its surprising its 35k after incentives lmao
For that amount you can almost get a Double Cab Toyota Tacoma, which would be a lot more practical for families or working crews.
It's the same basic truck as the 2001s . Same wheelbase and form factor. Even the 5th gen quadcabs are riding on the 140.5" wheelbase that the 2001 did. The only real difference in the 5th gens is the 4" extra lenght in the crew cabs only. Thats it
Welcome to the future where you can buy a $30,000 truck for $40,000! That said looking forward to you guys wheeling this thing!
Plus sales tax
Just think they used to be around 27,000 dollar trucks for 4x4 single cab. While the 2wd were 24,000 dollar trucks.
That’s how it works. I bought brand new trucks under 10k years ago. All things increase in price generally
Yup 10 years ago i bought a Hemi 4x4 Sport for 30k so in 10 years they upped the price by at least 12k for the same config. thats not all inflation pricing, shows how much money they are raking in on these Full size trucks.
I remember when Reagan mocked the USSR citizens having to wait 3 months to buy a car. whereas in the usa, you just wont ever be able to buy one, and it will take you 5-7 years to pay for it.
Lost the rocker arms and camshafts in our 3.6 pentastar , a common problem with this engine
It is completely insane how much truck prices have gone up. In August of 2020, I bought a 2020 Ram 2500 4x4 Bighorn, single cab long bed with the 6.4 Hemi. Can't remember exactly what the sticker price was but I paid $39,500 out the door for it here in Huntsville, Texas....Really looking forward to the build!!
Everything in the car/truck world just stupid crazy price now. I bought a new 2019 tundra 5.7 4x4 trd sport in November 2019 and I pay a little over 41k right before covid shutdown everything
No way you paid 40k in 2020 … 😂
@@smalltowndeallz606 Lol, ok 👍
@@smalltowndeallz606 and it was 39,500 out the door….so technically it was under 40k.
@@bvailes775 taxes n fees also that pushes over 40k 😂
This will be a fun series. I'll agree with the others that prices today are crazy. It seems everything has doubled except our pay.
Not sure how the people are managing to be honest. Credit cards?
Welcome to a nation that can print money out of thin air and doesn't allow competing currencies.
We are on a roller coaster ride. Don’t be surprised if we have one more melt up and then a collapse into deflationary depression
This is just the cost of Building Back Better, at least we aren't suffering anymore mean tweets.
@@TheCoon1975 only thing he’s building up is debt did the American people. 🤷♂️
That's a great looking $27K truck!
Shit a crew cab v8 is $28k out the door Msrp $43k. This is like a $20k truck
@@MrPland1992 this is no different than my 99 dodge Dakota. What a joke of a vehicle for that price…
Ik I have the 2000 slt Magnum V8 quad cab 4x4 cab tow at least 1500 pounds more.
must prefer fairly base spec.
My favorite series from TFL is the “Final Frontier”. Great to see some base model trucks back on the channel!
This is going to be gold. A truck that a average person might be able to afford new. I hope they do a payload test with a small slide in camper.
I love stuff like this. Everyone reviews the top trim constantly of every vehicle. Good to see inexpensive options
name for new truck: "Short comings" for being the smallest full size configuration regular cab shortbed not to mention with smallest engine option w/v6 naturally aspirated
Short Cummins.
$40,000 for this is crazy! In 2016 I got a brand new F250 XL FX4 6.2L with quite a few options for $31k. Great video though, really enjoyed it. Unbelievable seeing the 9-22 build date, and the key and buttons from my 10 year old grand cherokee.
Theres no way you paid that little even in 2016....
@@lucasbryant6599 It was $31,400 something before fees and tax. over $9000 under MSRP. To be fair the new 2017s were already filling up the lots.
This brings back memories of a friend of mine who got caught up in the "hemi hype" and bought a truck just like that (with a huge grille) some years ago. He bragged he could beat anything on the road except a gas station!! He got rid of it the first year, a nagging ol lady, two kids and $$ monthly payments made him do so!
I think it's great that you finally got a truck that's the most affordable yet still practical for the working man. It will do most everything needed by the common man be it hunting, fishing, driving to work, grocery shopping, hauling bags of cement or blocks ect. None of those thing require going from zero to 60 in flash time. Real truck for real world use.
Nobody is looking for power to go 0-60 in a flash however people want power to pass others in a flash, or have power to go up hill with a load in the back, etc. For an example i have a mazda 3 with 155 HP and Torque, and it struggles bad passing Semis on the highway and going uphill especially with a passenger or two.
@@BluRadoZ71 - Good point! You should do the Ike Gauntlet!! Hahaha. The 3 is still a pretty decent little car though. Hope it’s treating you well.
@@shitloveaduck Thanks its treating me great. Great little car as long as you dont carry around a lot of passengers.
@@BluRadoZ71 You must either have a 4th Gen Mazda 3 2.0L or you live a mile above sea level.
I have a 3rd Gen Mazda 3 2.0L and have zero problems passing anyone.
0-6 is 8.5 sec on these car so you either got the heavier 4th gen or have loss of power above sea level.
Even my 2001 Tacoma with the base 142hp is adequate but barely. The 155hp Mazda 3 feels like a sports car in comparison.
@@Argedis 2012 2.0 living near Baltimore, and 8.5 seconds is not adequate and i was talking about having passengers or extra weight in these vehicles. You can down play it all you want. And my car does not lack power. It is very well taking cared of since i use it for long distance for work.
Although the cab size and engine of this truck are not things I would consider, I applaud you guys for getting a lower trim truck. Looking forward to this series!
I like the single cabs tbh.
Single cabs are awesome except in crashes 💀
Single cabs are awesome, but they're no longer practical for me.
@@bryaninnc5511 - So true! In the 80s if a truck had that much space behind the cab??? It would have been a top seller no matter the brand!! Haha. Now I myself prefer the extended cab full size with the “regular” 6.5 (ish) foot bed in it. In the past, like 1987 and older for GM, the regular box was the 8 ft box and short box was the 6 foot box!! Haha.
A friend of mine in Oregon loves Peterson's. He has ordered multiple trucks for his fleet (tow truck/roadside service company) from them, even though they're 500 miles away.
Finally a cheap vehicle review. I almost don't watch your content because of the mostly fully loaded 4x4 vehicle you get that most of us hard working Americans can't afford and I don't know of that's what manufacturers give you or just want you guys like.
I love regular cabs and in some countries they're are the sport cars version because of bad roads and having low vehicles don't work.
But still too much money or I might be stuck pre 2020 era and I just have to accept my fate. When I retire I would get a regular cab as it always been my dream, but with kids now I need four seats.
$40k for the cheapest? Isn't it not that many years ago that you could get a similar sized truck for under $30k? Good video, it's interesting to see more affordable trucks.
Yeah, crazy how much the msrp’s have gone up. I bought my 2018 Silverado Z71 crew cab, all star edition, new for 38k with a bunch of free stuff thrown in. Retail was 51 but it was pretty well equipped. At the time an equivalent work truck spec crew cab retailed about 37 or 38 before incentives and negotiation. 0% financing too. Times have changed!
My last new truck was a 2016 silverado crew cab ltz. It was 44K loaded with everything other than the 6.2.
I bought my first brand new truck in 2011 (not that long ago!) for $21,500. 2 door 4x4 short bed Dodge. Prices are just ridiculous now.
Crazy how the cost of steal is 14x higher than 2010. Joey B is killing it!
@@Kristian_Saile 2017 Silverado 2500HD midnight edition LTZ with leather and center console for $53,500. Those are going for well over 60k now 😢
My dad has a similar one but older. I'm surprised at how little the interior has changed, and I kind of like that. His is an 09 base model 4x4 with the 4.7 V8. It's been a fantastic truck. The shorter wheelbase is a big plus for off-road situations. It makes it more enjoyable to drive too.
I really hope you guys go all with an awesome off-road build for this thing! You don’t ever see builds on single cab trucks like this anymore. AEV makes some awesome gear for the Rams, and y’all could make this thing incredible
What's funny is, saw this video 2 days ago, ended up going to Peterson and didn't think about this video at the time, but I had the same salesman you had. He's a great guy. I ended up not doing business with them, BUT I'd highly recommend people to buy with them. They're amazing, and probably the most honest dealership I've been to and THEY ARENT PUSHY. They won't try to talk you into something you don't want to do.
They'll even help you make a decision if you buy from somewhere else, just to make sure you aren't getting screwed over.
All my future purchases will be from Peterson. Even though I'm not a customer yet, they've got a future customer 100%.
“The way God intended pickup trucks to be”, so true!! Other than the short bed, that is a real truck. All the basics are there!!
Great idea. Funny how a "basic" truck today would have been considered a luxury truck 20 years ago! Cloth seats, carpet, tilt, cruise, A/C etc.. Nice to see an inexpensive truck tested. Well done TFL.
True!! This needed to have a cassette player to be truly loaded!!😂😂. I remember the 70s and 80s very well. Haha.
Don’t forget the optional passenger mirror
@@jasonlarsen3515 - true!
Nah I have a base 2001 Tacoma SR5 - a literal 20 yr old truck.
Cloth Seats, Carpet, Ice Cold A/C
The only 'luxury' features this new truck has are automatic windows, keyless entry, and the backup cam.
Cold A/C is the only luxury feature in any car IMO
“Dual Airbags”
Oh how times have changed! In 2014 I purchased basically that same truck but with a quad cab a spray in bed liner and I got the dealer to throw in a cap out the door for $28k! It was honestly the best work truck I owned that got good gass milage and was relatively trouble free for a 151,000 miles. I literally just traded it in for a slightly used 2020 Bighorn with with 5100 miles for an out the door price with my trade for $31k. I went used because to replace my old 2014 with basically the same thing today in 2022 would have cost in the mid $40k if you could even find one! Great video guys and look forward to the updates!
Realistically, that should only be $28 to $32k.
Cheap for journalists, the rest of us gotta dealnwith at least 10k mark ups
Shop around. Easy to avoid markups.
There are websites and threads that tell you what Markup if any people paid. Try to shop further out from cities, they usually don't Markup as much if at all
the discount and incentives are basically the dealer cost to advertise on TFL
Just order a new one, if u can wait u don't pay much if any mark-ups
Nah petersons is great.
To think when the classic body style first came out you were able to get these for 27k with 4x4. Glad you guys got it & great video can’t wait to see more with it.
The Gen IV Rams are going to be remembered as amazing trucks. I prefer them much more than the 5th generation ones.
That motor sets so far back it almost can be called "Mid-engine".
The price is outrageous.
I bought my '19 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x2 with the 3.5L nicely equipped for $36k.
Love the new addition. I have a 2021 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock and I absolutely love it. I’ve put almost 40k on it and hits held up so well. I think it’s awesome that Ram still makes the classic series. With how expensive trucks are, it’s nice to see some cheaper offerings, when you can find them.
I appreciate how they mentioned that although you can find a truck for less, it’ll usually end up way more expensive than intended. Cool video 👍
Yep it's very rare to get an accurate price quote for a vehicle without any games or trickery.
I have a 2015 Ram 1500 old school small four door. It has 114,000 miles and has given flawless service. Also has the 3.6 V6. I absolutely love it. Good luck with yours.
I’m still stunned at how much new prices have risen. I bought a 2021 Custom Trail Boss Crew Cab 6.2 for 41k in December of 2020 with the “Friends & Family” discount. I’m thinking it might be my last new vehicle in my life based on these increases in the last two years.
i bought a 2020 6.7 f250 and the dealer is still offering me 10k over what i paid for it.
a guy i know bought a 2022 gmc 1500 at4 with 6.2L for $72,000 super nice truck but wow!!
Probably worth $50,000 now
Yes, I feel you! We have a 2012 F150 4wd Crew with the 5.0l, we have 185k on it now, and I have decided it will probably be my last truck if the prices stay high. Crazy how much trucks are! My dad bought a new Nissan hardbody extended cab in 1987 for $8900 from the Smyrna Factory in TN.
Welcome to da new Merka😢
Stick a fork in it……
I’m anxious for this series. I have a 2018 f150 regular cab short bed. I bought it used in 2018 with only 800 miles on it. Paid 25k out the door. I would love to see you guys do a bed rug and bed cover. It’s easy to live with a regular cab when you have a 6 foot carpeted “trunk”.
I actually bought my 2020 Dodge Ram Classic 1500 Crew Cab from that exact Peterson dealership in February. It only had 12 thousand miles on it. The guys their are honestly so great and prices for today's market are very decent. Thanks guys for showing Idaho some love!
Looking forward to videos of this one. I'm eager to see how this new old truck compares to much more expensive modern ones. I would expect that a truck for which the tooling has long been paid for would be even cheaper.
Bet the payload's pretty good. The base levels are coming up as far as equipment too. I bought the cheapest 4x4 midsize I could find and just a few hundred bucks on the aftermarket got me all the comfort and convenience I wanted.
Reminds me of the first vehicle I bought after graduating from college. It was a 1995 Dodge Ram 4x4 regular cab with a 5.9 liter motor. I paid $20,000 for it in 1995.
If you calculate for inflation that’s about 39k in today’s money.
My local dealer had 2 of these. I didn't want a smaller truck. I like being able to put a 4 x 8 sheet between the wheel wells. The one I bought is not my daily driver, it's a business vehicle. Mine is just like yours without the power windows, or locks. Sticker was $40,275. They took off $2,025 plus the $1,825 rebates. You are right, it's the cheapest full size 4 x 4 truck available right now. I had a Ford Maverick for about 2 weeks. I waited a year to get it, paid $23,400 OTD for it. The day I got the title I drove to CarMax, and sold it to them for $32,000! Best deal I ever got on a new vehicle.
I cannot wait to see what you guys do with this little fun toy… keep up the incredible work!
Kinda liked this truck more than I thought I would! Would actually look super cool with a slight lift and some 33’s maybe.
I agree, with a little lift and tires this would be a fantastic truck for hunting and most things really
Ya your right id add a roll i n bed liner and tint the wi dows for sure. I woild of got the color matched bumbers gill ect. But only problem with putting a lift and tires on it is that they got toe garbage pentastar 3.6 its barely enough to move it fast enough to be safe in the wrangler with a set of tires on it. I think that the 3.6L. Is just absolute garbage in a fullsize truck. But thats just my opinion
First thing I would do with it is get it fluid filmed/wax oiled. Now it the time to do the rust prevention, then the bed liner. after that just enjoy it, put it to work.
Excellent choice. Can’t wait to see more on this truck!!
I drive them all the time for work. They are actually a really comfortable ride, and the 4 wheel drive works well for the northern winters.
In that price range, a lot of the mid size trucks can be pretty feature rich and tow just as much.
40k? Dang. In 2017, I paid 37k cad (32kusd) for a well equipped bighorn ccsb 5.7 4x4 3.92. Those days are long gone.
Stickered at 37K for base model single cab V6 with 4X4. My 2011 F-150 FX4 Supercab 5.0L was stickered at 40K and back in 2011 when the FX4 was it's own trim it was a mid trim model above an XLT and below a Lariat. It's absolutely wild how expensive trucks have gotten these days.
Looking forward to this series!
I love that you guys bought this!! I love single cab short beds, can’t wait for more videos!
I love my 2020 Ram 1500 Classic 2wd quad cab Hemi Tradesman. It was $34k new out the door and I just finished paying it off. Still the best value overall with plenty of cheap parts and mods since it has been in production since 09
2 wheel drive pickups have always been worthless and dangerous in my part of the country.
@@zoobrizz I’ve gotten through washed out roads, icy unsalted highways with packed snow and unpaved backroads. I must be doing something wrong.
Suddenly the 2007 Ford F-150 4.2L V6 I bought for $1450 3 years ago from my company’s fleet turn ins feels pretty darn good. Very reliable, 23 mpg hwy and burns no oil. With 180,000 miles on the odometer I have many years of life left before it needs replacing. I didn’t know regular cab trucks still existed. I would love to get one.
I'm excited for this truck to join the fleet! I'd love to see it with a leveling kit and slightly more aggressive tires and some off-roading to see how the short wheelbase compares to the crew cab trucks. Also to see how it does as a daily driver with a tonneau cover over the bed for storage.
I've always liked the short cab short bed trucks like that. But for the money and with only the V6, I'd definitely be looking at a smaller class to either save a few bucks still or to match most or all of the capability with maybe even some extra features. Still a cool truck though!
Except nobody will sell you a midsize truck with standard cab in the US.
Great video Tommy. Always great to see you.
I'm excited! I have the 19 classic Regular can short bed with 4x4 and the 5.7.
At this point, no one should be paying MSRP for a Ram truck- my local dealer is selling Laramie's (4x4) for 7K off MSRP.

The engine is only half of the equation. The transmission is the other half…and this has THE BEST transmission in all of half ton trucks. The ZF 8 speed really “woke up” all the Stellanitis vehicles with the 3.6 and HEMI. It’s much faster, gets better economy, and tows better. Plus it’s silky smooth. I have an 03 F150 with 5.4 and I bet this pulls nearly as good while getting 7 MPGs better. I bet it’s faster too. I love V8s but don’t hate on the 3.6 if you haven’t driven one.

nice, a full size truck with the same tow rating as my Subaru outback
Weird. I had a Toyota with an upsidedown filter and it was 22 years old with 150k and had no lifter rattles or oil burning, didn't even leak anything. Im noo genius but I think it's just low quality engine more than it is the direction the oil filter sits tbh

Don't forget, the F150 XL/XLT trims with the 3.3L base engine and the base axles (3.55 ratio) is also a 5k towing full size. You get 8200lbs if you upgrade the axles to 3.73, but I bet there are alot of guys out there driving F150s that don't tow as much as they think they can. Even worse, the Ford costs more for that 5k towing than this RAM! In fact, the 2019 and older ones only got to (I think 7400lbs) with the axle upgrade, so older 3.3L F150 XLs can be outmatched by the Ranger even with the better axles.
Had a brand new 2016 pentastar, at 5k miles it sounded like a thrashing machine .sold it. Went to Toyota, never looked back
I find what you call "work trucks" are usually "for the boys" trucks. Where you providing trucks for others to use. Business owners and working guys would always choose an upper trim, since we practically live in these trucks more then our home sometimes.
That's so cool you were in Boise, I live in Eagle which is the second largest city in Idaho right next to Boise, I've always wanted to meet you guys, keep keep it up with the good videos.
it is crazy how much inflation has made trucks in just a few years. I bought my 2500 with 4x4, crew cab, and cummins in 2019 for $47k
Well combination inflation/price gouging and complete lack of incentives. Used to be a given could get 10k or more off msrp on a truck. Really for a lot of products these days it’s price gouging. So many big companies wouldn’t be showing record profits if price increases were just to offset costs.
Gone are the days of the full size pickup under 30k...
My work truck is a 2014 tradesman; essentially the same truck but 4 door 4WD with the 5.7 hemi. Just hit 100k miles. Not a big Ram guy but it’s served me well.
Id love to have a truck like that with a lift and tires and maybe a rear locking diff. Single cabs look so cool.
Nice truck only thing that could be better is an 8 foot bed I like a v6 for economy I don't tow a lot great video guys let's see it kitted out budget as well
The mileage difference is about 2-3 MPG 👎
@Dave Waldon that's sad I have a pre ecoboost f150 the difference is 8 mpg from 4.2 to 5.0 that ads up I do have to admit I don't have 4x4 there isn't a hill or mountain for hours from me
Gotta say I am surprised at the towing numbers. Today's midsize trucks with a 4cylinder turbo are rated up to 7,500 lbs or so. That V6 is a good little engine with 300 horsepower I would expect that it could tow up to 7,500 lbs as well. Please update us on the payload of this truck as well.
It's probably the suspension or something. You are right tho that Tacomas can tow about 7000 pounds
Weight is WAY less important than profile. My enclosed trailer is only 3,000 lbs but it’s a big huge box. It’s way harder to tow that than a 6,000 lbs trailer with better aerodynamics. This truck is great for easy & light towing, but you’ll really heat up the engine and trans towing something like a travel trailer. But I’m glad they offer this engine/trans because most truck owners tow rarely, if at all.
@@cliffordmontana4562 most truck owners don't even need to be truck owners 😂
@@jaredfletcher1587 I’m not so sure about that. Most people use their trucks for myriad reasons. Vacations, hunting, hauling mulch, for work, etc. Just because people don’t use their trucks as trucks every day doesn’t mean they don’t need them, and they don’t want to go through the hassle of owning multiple vehicles. Trucks can do everything and do everything well, including haul a fairly large family. I own ten acres and I’m going to use my truck bed tonight to take the trash down to the road. The uses are endless, that’s why people love them.
Nice truck! I love those short cab/bed combos! The only thing I would like is the Hemi for towing. The short wheelbase with a trailer is great for maneuvering. Like a tractor trailer only smaller!
Classic is a good word to describe this thing. Had no idea they were still being made.
I had a dark blue 2014 exactly like that one. I absolutely loved it and wish I still had it
Welcome to 2009, it's like Back to the Past!
🤣🤣 "classic"
It still looks new tbh. Even looks up to date in a few aspects. Looks old in others, but the fact there is so many years of constant production probably make parts availability pretty darn good and is a ram so you might need it I bet haha
At last, 2 door 4x4! Great move!
Great video guys. Safe travels.
I lived in the Denver area for nearly 30 years (moved away in November '22) but always came to Boise to vehicle shop. I just bought a vehicle myself from Peterson!
Proven engine for destroying cams and rocker arms. Ive work on a ton of this. Even in 2020-
Lol just because something sells millions doesn't mean it's good
Since it’s from Idaho, you should call it “Bud the Spud”.
Bought 2022 Frontier base 4x4 33500 off lot.
Extended cab, 7’ ft bed. V6, 9 speed tranny, more power an better payload and tow.
But, good work truck model, prices are high no matter what.
Look forward to build.
I’m sensing there’ll be some snow donuts in the back 40, from “Stubby”, coming up soon. 😂
free bucket comes with all rams, to pick up the broken parts
Its just a bummer man because it's an attractive old pickup if you ask me.
No way that’s a $40k truck.
$28k max.
Welcome to 2022!
Name - Stumpy :)
The nice thing about that model is the split front bumper. If you get the model with the split bumper, you can get a winch for the license plate area and it mounts to factory holes but if you get any other model, it's nearly impossible to mount. I have a 2020 Classic with the 8 speed 5.7 and use it as my daily and for Overlanding. I had to get creative so i made my own CAD and had it cut at a local shop along with some skid plates and rock sliders. Still a viable great truck option for price
I like "Stumpy" -Andre.
That's still pretty expensive for what it is. There are steep discounts on the 'new' one some places (ex: mark dodge in Louisiana) - you could get a big horn quad cab with the hemi for the same price as this.
As a Mopar tech I can say that configuration is a pretty bulletproof one. Those engines can easily get over 200k miles and in a small truck like that they are pretty powerful and not slow at all.
The 3.6 is a weak pile of garbage and I use to work at a Dodge dealership and would see these in all the time for the classic 3.6 tick
It’s a dodge, there not reliable at all.
@@jmc6000 don’t start going on about how you worked at a dealership just because I said I’m a Mopar tech. The 3.6 is dead reliable and on the first 2 years we’re trash
@@FishFind3000 more reliable than you think. Better than any ford or GM
@@brandonruhl1639 still trash in my book as the 3.6 is a weak engine and the newer ones still suffer from the infamous 3.6 vslvetrain tic
That is pretty basic and it's still 40 grand I think you're still paying the CE0 10k a truck. And why are we giving a ceo 10k a truck.. If he wasn't paying so much to the CEO the truck would be way cheaper.
Did your mom do drugs the whole 9 months?
@@mattbrew11 No but your mom gave me head for 9 months.
Our Caravan has that 3.6 with a 6-speed automatic - gotten 30.8 mpg on a highway trip. Zero complaints.
My brother bought a brand new base Tradesman in 2020 that was 4x4 with a V8, crew cab and bed liner for around $31k or $32k after taxes. MSRP was in the low $40k range. Around that time, I also had bought a brand new Silverado LT 4x4 with a V8, Z71, crew and with other options around that time with a MSRP around the low $50k range for roughly $42k after taxes.
That goes to show how much these incentives have pretty much vanished and now it's dealers charging MSRP or over MSRP.
This truck is known as the most "under rated" truck on the market. They keep building them, and that's why. The Hemi in this configuration is even more in desireable.
I have a 13 F150 3.7 in this config. Great truck. Fairly quick, makes a nice noise up to 7k RPM, and is stupid maneuverable.
Interested to hear about what you think of the entry level seats after an 800+ mile road trip. How was the noise level? Did it make you grumpy. Not a problem for short trips but for frequent long distance trips the more expensive trims can make for a better trip.
That truck with the hemi would have been amazing for the price in todays market. I’ve seen people do all kinds of aftermarket upgrades to these base model trucks and they turn out looking really nice without the hefty price
