Trevor Philips is a character in the Grand Theft Auto series, appearing as one of the three protagonists of Grand Theft Auto V. These are the criminal charges he would have faced had he been arrested after the events of GTA V.
Our exploration extends beyond fiction as we draw parallels to real-world scenarios. We examine cases of real-life criminals and their prosecutions, drawing on legal expertise to examine the likelihood of Trevor Philips's criminal activities leading to actual charges.
Please note that the video you are about to watch is entirely fictional and is produced solely for the purpose of raising awareness on the consequences of committing a crime. The scenes depicted in this video are not real and do not reflect any actual events or persons. We do not condone or promote any illegal or unethical behaviour, and this video is intended to serve as a cautionary tale to deter individuals from engaging in criminal activity.

this made me just realise why more professional robbers usually try to avoid killing anyone. Not just out of ethics but also because if they get caught they get away with a pretty mild punishment.
in california lmao any other state they pretty much go to jail for a long time
anything is better than whatever the fuck trevor got@@WaLdo5940
And then there’s most of us GTA players who try to kill as many people as possible even though we don’t have to
That’s why in the movie Heat, the robber played by DeNiro during the bank job explained that they wanted to hurt no one and give leeway to try to get the bank customers to relax. Armed robbery is one thing but any of those people die for whatever causes because of the robbery and that adds felony murder charges which are more serious
Professionals have standards.
I love how he already gets a life sentence in the first few minutes of the story

- Canon storyline(Heists & Kills)
- Immune to prosecution for crimes committed while working with/for the F.I.B
- California Self-Defense Law, which applies to defending yourself, other people, and your property with no duty to retreat

6:50 great cut from Michael saying Oh No, to the charge of kidnapping popping up on screen 😂
Sorry if it's a dumb question but wouldn't the Life Imprisonment charge for the Merryweather heist get taken away due to them bringing the super weapon back? Since Lester states if they don't bring it back then they will be on everyone's watchlist
Edit: actually nvm they still committed terrorism either way
And endangered the safety of the whole US
It’s amazing how basically every single mission is a risk of life in prison
Yep, cause in every single mission, you either steal a vehicle or kill someone.
yes so amazing.
Yeah, 12 minutes isn't nearly enough to cover all of Trevor's crimes
Yeah, how about this 9 years gap? I'm wondering what he was doing back then.
@@slavicfixer8438 there's stuff saying all kinds of stuff. He's been in and out of prison/trouble with the law since he was a child. That's not even counting all the shit he did with michael and brad before the events of the story
Yes, this is just the events of this game. I bet he must have raped a lot of people and also is a pedophile.
true, he's also got his switch to Trevor moments so: that leg in the toilet he's trying to flush is another murder, throwing that guy off a bridge is also murder then there's cheating in a casino, punching the bike dude unconscious, those Wade's friends he killed in the quarry, bringing people to those cannibals on the hill, being cannibalistic himself apparently and who knows how many other things we dont know about. He'd rack up 50k years in prison if it all came to light
I'd say he got it soft in this video lol
This doesn't even count the rampages, the 8 smuggling missions, the online heist, and for some reason, it lists the Kortz shooting as self defense, even if it was an intervention. It also does not count the murder of federal officers, which would be Steve and every NOOSE kill. And above all, it doesn't count the crimes dialogues mention he had committed. I think Trevor could easily be sentenced back in the stone age and be freed just this year with the amount of prison time he'd get
Of course this also excludes the many times Trevor or other characters make allusions to other crimes such as Michael mentioning "human stew" being where he draws the line in Ending A and the cutscene where he throws up in a fountain saying "never eat Indian people" as a note to himself when you switch to him
Gotta love how it goes from murder to operating a forklift without a license
imagine going to jail with these charges and get asked.. ''so, what are you in for?''🤣
‘Everything’
Trevor: of you know, i like to do a bit of everything.
the only right answer would be the one steve said to michael "for multiple counts of every fucking crime under the fucking sun"
I love how it jumps from "40+ counts of 1st degree murder" to "Property damage + Battery"
property damage can also be an indictable charge !
11:35 you forgot tresspassing
6:29 wouldn’t that armed robbery also be combined with some sort of tampering with evidence since you were assasinating a snitch and getting case files for Martin?
Obstruction of justice would be added to that
He committed a lot of crimes to the point that he should be on death sentence immediately
Saul Goodman will get him out early.
He’d just activate his immortality power
Including the Altruist Cult thing and all the innocent people he killed besides the missions, he'd probably meet the electric chair
I was thinking the same
This video shows the minimum sentence he would get.
“Free my homie, he ain’t do nothing wrong”
His homie: 12:06
yeah he did nothing
Free Trevor
Great list but you forgot one, after the truth about Brad is revealed Trevor receives a call from the Triad Boss who reveals that he intends to brutally kill Michael and still Trevor just laughs it off as revenge for Brad. Now in a court of law he would be charged with willfully with-holding information on potential murder and be complicit in the crime if Michael had been killed in the Slaughterhouse.
The poor judge
Love how the fine is still there as if he's not in prison for a few thousand years
U still pay off fines while in prison. The courts take a certain amount from your “paycheck” from your prison job or money that’s on your books from family/friends. Usually takes a while to pay off tho because they can’t take the whole thing and leave u with no money, and u don’t make much at all from prison jobs to begin with.
Lol, how long will it take him to pay off $505,000 on a prison wage? I bet even after serving his 3,039 years hed still owe money
@@JohnDanvers-kx4ucif it’s after the story mode franklin and micheal can bail him out 😂
And even being put in the strongest maximum security prison, he'd still somehow escape
Yep, he can just kill all the prison guards, and wait a little bit hiding in cover for his health to instantly regenerate, and even if he dies, he can easily respawn at the nearest checkpoint.

the bank heist would be way more than 3 years considering how much they stole, there was a bank heist in 97' where they stole 19 million and one of the guys got 17 years so trevor would probably get 50 at the least and when you throw in the fact that it was his idea and a bunch of people died because of him probably more than a hundred

4:30 I think Trevor said it best. "Officer, this all started when they didn't have the kilo of cocaine we preordered."
6:06 also in this mission after it ends and you switch back to Trevor in the police helicopter, he will start flying the helicopter instead of the pilot meaning he pushed out and murdered the pilot

Better Call Saul 💀
That's a LOT of murder.
19x murder and 82x first degree murder💀
CJ has a lot more. 900+.
The other thing most people don't realize is that if they can prove you had a firearm at each crime you committed regardless of how much is dropped you still get at a minimum of 10 years in prison all because you had a gun at the scene.. unfortunately, not a single court uses this for bs reasons, but you would make a lot of criminals think twice before doing the crime with a gun.
Yeah I’m sure all the people shooting and robbing in major cities are really facing 10 years……
wym for bs reasons? First of all, longer sentencing does not deter crime. You could make the punishment for jaywalking a life sentence and it would not deter jaywalking. Second of all, why would you even want someone to go away for that long in a system that sets them up to reoffend? That's just a death camp, not a prison
@outmywritemind1739 politics is the bs reason, and when I say crime I'm not talking about jaywalking. I'm talking about murder, robbery, pedophilia, and among many other horrible crimes, but the fact I have to spell that out for you is pathetic. I guess by your logic, we should just let everyone off with a slap on the wrist because taking years or their lives doesn't work. People who wanna change will put in the effort themselves or better they'll decide not to do the crime in the first place since thats too much time they lose. Those who keep doing it don't deserve my sympathy. If adding years to repeat offenders works in Singapore, then perhaps something similar can be done in the states to put an end to high crime rates.
Edit: Also, if they're a death camp, then they're doing a terrible job at it, they might have to consider ideas from Aushwitz if they really want to be a death camp.
"you know I REALLY wanted to murder that guy, but I best not bring my gun because prison scares me"
@IESVSCHRISTVSDOMINVSNOSTEREST yeah cuz we wouldn't want the victim to increase their chances of survival right?
The point is to get them out of society if you catch em. If they're willing to still commit after thinking twice than atleast they can go away for a long time guaranteed, instead of some crooked lawyer able to lower the charges to the point its not even worth imprisonment so they keep killing again a year later.
Self-defence
-take the big guy
*Possession of a destructive device*
6:44 HE SAID IT!!!
I mean , i dont really think they could realistically charge him , considering most people that could talk against him are dead (Steve Haines , the chinese , the bikers etc) , all the info about him in federal databases was deleted during the fib heist and lester covered up all traces of him in the heists
Would be nice if when you put the red text with the name of the crime, you also showed the length of sentence it was adding to the total at the top! Cool video :)
Thank you. I wanted to say the same thing
4:43 while under influence
Trevor alone would singlehandedly bring back the death sentence with what he's probably done
2:21 If you're going to count that then you should probably add: possession of Post-86 machine guns without a Type 7 FFL+SOT II, possession of at least one unregistered firearm silencer/suppressor, possession of an unregistered short barreled shotgun, possession of an unregistered short barreled rifle, and possession of a firearm without being a U.S citizen. The last one is assuming that Trevor doesn't have dual citizenship as well as being denied U.S citizenship on account of him having a criminal record with the RCMP.
Im not a lawyer, but here are some things that might be worth noting:
0:14 +Battery
1:20 +Property damage
4:09 +Property damage
4:43 +Trespassing (Trevor doesn’t work at the docks, and that area of the docks is a Private area, thus why Trevor is disguised as a dock worker)
4:51 +Trespassing (The Merryweather base is private property)
6:10 I think it would make more sense to say “Accessory to carjacking” or something similar because Franklin is the one stealing the vehicle, not Trevor.
9:11 This is debatable since we never see what happens, there is a chance that Trevor could have acted in self defense. If Trevor did commit murder, there doesn’t seem to be any high velocity blood on him, so he most likely did not kill Floyd or Debra with the gun. There are no cuts on his hands, so 1 of 2 things, Trevor didn’t use the knife, or: Trevor was able to use the knife without injuring himself.
9:25 +Trespassing (Trevor shouldn’t have been in the back areas of the strip club without a valid reason)
11:23 Multiple First-degree murders (During this part of the mission, all 3 protagonists purposely set up an ambush to kill multiple FIB and Merryweather agents)
11:53 +Grand Theft Auto (Trevor steals Devin’s car)
Trevor’s final sentence would most likely be much higher due to the charges stacking and other things, but realistically speaking, Trevor would get the death penalty.
I was also wanted to mention the operating a machine under the influence during the scouting the port mission
0:14 included in Bank robbery charge
1:20 is optional and not necessary for mission completion
4:09 included in charge
4:43 he is technically trespassing but on a workplace rather than a restricted area meaning he would likely just been thrown out rather than charged
4:51 he doesn’t enter the base maybe the booth but he would be charged for the theft
6:10 you are right but under California law, there is no distinction between a direct accomplice and the principal perpetrator of the crime so he would face the same penalty as Franklin
9:11 following the narrative that Trevor killed Debra, California allows residents to use force against intruders who break into their homes which is what Trevor did so if Debra pointed a gun at Trevor he cannot claim self-defense as she is justified
9:25 In the scene before he is given directions to the office by a worker
11:23 The FIB agents have been sent there to kill T/M/F by Steve Haines with no intent to arrest which is illegal considering they have not been charged with any crimes
11:53 Correct

0:58 this isn’t murder because if you shoot Johny after he’s there on the ground , you get the “kill confirmation” tint on the screen , indicating you killed an enemy . So that isn’t technically murder but brutality
He dies in the story on the scene shortly after anyway even if you don't shoot him so it's murder.

Two minutes,in and Trevor is serving a life time
Some of my own, non expert and not legally qualified input:
-Accomplices often times share a crime. Get away drivers can get hit with murder if one of their partners kills someone.
-I'm fairly certain self defense is not applicable in a lot of these scenarios. Trevor chose to involve himself at the shootout at Kortz Center. I'd be shook if self defense applied during Derailed considering that's a train robbery and it's Merryweather's cargo.
The fact that Trevor had 574+ years after prologue is crazy
