Someone else has probably already posted this, but for “Phänomen Raum“ there is a very not-scary explanation: the „Landwehrstr. 56(?), Darmstadt“ in the video is actually an address. After a quick google search I found out the following: Phänomen Raum’ (‘the phenomenon of space’) was a lecture series that was conducted at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences in 2009. The students had to work with the empty rooms of a vacant office building. If I understand correctly, they were to experiment with the perception of the room; like, where is the light coming from & -and this explains the creepy video- how different smells and sounds change the perception of the room. So, (un)fortunately no real mystery here, just an art project for Uni - and a bothersome language barrier.

You'll be happy to know that there is already a group that works with police to catch predators. I worked with a girl years ago who looked really young. She was nineteen I think, but she had the build of a twelve-year old. She told me about work she did with cops where she would go to malls with an undercover police escort watching over her, and they watched for men who would try to approach her or who started following her. I think she said they wound up arresting a few. That said, this sort of thing should be more widespread. We should be actively seeking out predators.
everything she said was so cringe she thought she could mention Einstein and just sound smart all of the sudden as if every human ever hasn't heard that lmao AND THEN GOES ON A NONSENSE RANt.
The strange thing for me about the sun missing part...is some years ago, my autistic daughter kept being panicked because she kept saying that the sun was not going to come back up. I have no idea where she got this from and it went on for weeks. Every time dusk would come around on every day...she would break out into a crying fit, saying that she didn't want the sun to disappear. I would reassure her that the sun most definitely was coming up in the morning but this would not calm her down. Then one day, weeks later she stopped getting upset and forgot about it. I still have no idea where she got this idea from. 🤔

Interesting fact: the scream outside the house in TheSunVanished said "help" and "no" with a Brazilian Portuguese accent, I may be speaking an obvious and dated information after so long, but I found a detail at the very least curious since the account and its owner appeared to be from the US or somewhere in North America.
The "The sun vanished" would make for a sick movie concept. You know, aliens with flashing lights that turn red when they detect you, that would be intense.
@@TM-qk2yy Yeah i know, but when i was in elementary school we were wondering with my friends if they were real or not, so i think these creepypasta youtubers should state that they are fake so kids wont be deceived.
I think it's an alien civilization taking over, but not in the style of science fiction. Instead, they make us kill each other, but since that didn't work, they knew we need light, so they used their 'flashlights' to try to kill them themselves. Since that didn't fully work, they are going to each individual house to find anything and murder it, so the civilization can live on this planet with no interstellar threat.

If done correctly, it could be a really good movie. Of course, if I were in charge of such a movie, I would probably go so far as to buy a property or few and shade it from the sun so that the plants actually appear to be suffering from lack of sunlight. If shaded just right, it could be prolonged enough to make the movie and most of the plants would survive, maybe. Or, could just film it in the arctic circle. Might be more realistic there since some parts of the year there is little to no sun and of course, it gets cold during that time too just like it would if the sun vanished.

I remember when that interview happened for the stalker. The news team decided to post it on their Facebook page thinking it would be a great idea for publicity and were slammed by thousands of people for essentially exploiting someone who was clearly mentally ill. ‘Are you a crazy person?’ is actually a really shitty question to ask someone who obviously is.
The questions were practically taunting her. I wonder what on earth is wrong with paps and journalists sometimes, I really do. One has to lack empathy to be able to do that kind of work on a daily basis.
@@PTS-Maid sure, if it was a male there’s a possibility that the circumstances would be different. But I also believe if it was a male they wouldn’t have even interviewed him in the first place.

The anxiety war guy is a goddamn hero. It makes me so upset that police and youtube condemned him for it. Him and other creep catchers are brave people considering that most of them are untrained.
Hey look this guy is catching child predators lets fucking make him look like a piece of shit while ruining his livelyhood and threaten to put him in jail. We are handling the right, deffinitely
While Anxiety Wars might be one of the better variety of p*do hunting vigilantes and didn't deserve to be condemned, the fact is that many of these vigilantes make prosecution harder for undercover operations and in some cases, make predators become more aggressive when they face little to no persecution for their crime. What little good they can manage to do is severely outweighed by the bad that comes from making these freaks realize they must re-offend more carefully. There is a very specific process to make sure these predators are given the rope to hang themselves with, without it becoming entrapment, or other issues such as Anxiety War faced with being sued. Undercover stings want to put these freaks away for as long of a time as they can, not let them get off easy. TCAP wasn't perfect but it is a much better example of getting these guys busted with how much care went into the process. Vigilantes also face danger if one of these predators is unhinged and brought a gun which is another reason police look down on it. The recent EDP445 case could have easily gone that route, knowing he had a huge collection of guns. Also, most of these vigilantes are in it for clout and money, such as the ones who went after EDP. obviously that's not as bad as a child predator, but the vast majority of these vigilantes are not morally upstanding citizens and do not deserve to be hailed as heroes.
Yes! Although I agree that it needs to be done carefully, perhaps with some community-based but centralized training, to keep the pervs from getting sly.
I’m already subscribed to him and I think he’s a phenomenal person; especially considering that his name is public. Today’s form of “Justice” is really repugnant; I don’t even remember the last time I thought good of the police.
@Glum Sullen false. TCAP was the original clout chaser, and their theatrical fuckery often made it impossible for the predators they caught to be actually prosecuted, so the majority of them ended up walking free

Lil update from a Capetonian regarding Day Zero Thanks to very heavy water restriction initiatives and country-wide campaigns, as well as adequate winter rains, we have narrowly dodged the bullet of going completely dry. The city has also managed to cut down water usage in half from 1.2 billion litres a day to roughly 500 million with the water restriction initiatives. Summer is upon us and drying up the dams again, but thanks to the dams being in a significantly better position this year than in 2015 - 2017, successful desalination projects and many other positive factors, Day Zero is much less of a reality. Hopefully we've fully averted the crisis, but this entire issue is ongoing. We'll get there, but it's gonna take time.
@@zedlarae It is easily accessible, however if Day Zero were to happen, our taps would be completely turned off, making us have to go to a water collection point.

So I do not like to walk there at night when I come home from work. The guy probably uses a phone to be realistic, but if you only turn it on for like 3-5 minutes at a time, keeping it off, a quality phone can last easily a month. In the story, he charges the phone at least once, maybe more, using a car adapter.

3:28 wow, I came to watch this old video and saw this part. And as someone who grew up in Germany, I think I can give some context about what ‘Phänomen Raum’ is. This honestly seems like a trailer of sorts for a theatre performance. I’m not sure if it was an official performance from a theatre in Darmstadt or if it might have been a performance from a school. We take arts as serious as you can in Germany, so we have three big subjects that are handled in school. Music, art and drama. Drama, in German schools, isn’t quite the typical drama you’d see in American schools, which is playing school plays and taking over roles to recreate a play. For us, we may take a piece as basis but they’re ‘distorted’ into pieces that you could call complete separate pieces. It’s often tried to make things into very cryptic pieces, strange in ways that leave you thinking what this piece truly meant afterwards. Those kind of performances are also used for school classes to analyze how the piece was performed, what elements were found in the piece, what was the focus and how did the actors portray that. This specific video just seems like that. A trailer for a cryptic piece that was performed maybe in a theatre or maybe at some school (because many many schools actually have their students perform a play and they tend to take money for entrance fees). And as for why you wouldn’t be able to find anything on it on the internet? The year was 2009, chances are that if there was any announcement on any theatre website, it’s been long deleted or maybe it wasn’t even on the internet in the first place and people only saw it by poster / that specific video and came to see it without any information online about the piece. Welp, that was my piece of mustard on the whole thing, just thought I might give some context ^^
It's hard to find stuff that genuinely creeps me out these days, but the Sun Vanished one hit the nail on the head. Truly disturbing how it's portrayed. Good stuff.

Well, mental illnesses usually portray mannerisms that are out of the norm; that's why they aren't considered normal or therefore healthy. Despite that I'd like to point out how mental illnesses don't always look that obvious to outsiders; the stigma that comes through these deeply disordered individuals and the media's contorted, amplified image is not how it always is.
Just wanted to state the obvious, I guess. The loud minority just gives off this cuckoo -vibe of people battling with mental health, whose behavior isn't as extreme as one would think it'd be - mental illness, even in severe cases might not even show to the outside world.

I can't believe how much this makes sense now lol
It rather translates to phenomenon room, not space
Nitro I get what you mean, but I actually copied this translation from the website

Cascadian it really is but it’s started to fall of a bit. At the start it was really cool and mysterious and now it’s more to drive the plot forward rather than have a sense of horror

Lil update from a Capetonian regarding Day Zero
Thanks to very heavy water restriction initiatives and country-wide campaigns, as well as adequate winter rains, we have narrowly dodged the bullet of going completely dry.

The lady in the last one almost seemed like how an actor would portray a crazy person in a horror movie. It's creepy how utterly unhinged and accurate our interpretation of insanity can be.
There was a show called Psych, and a character named Yang acted sorta like this. Even sorta looked like her
Well, mental illnesses usually portray mannerisms that are out of the norm; that's why they aren't considered normal or therefore healthy.
I was just thinking the same
There is some truth in television, and stereotypes do have some basis in reality as harmful as they can be.
