I love watching you garden. You make it seem so much more relaxed about plants when you can just go in and kick off the old dead stuff instead of having to be so precise about cutting in a special spot. And just dig it up and plop it in no fussing. Thanks. It is a pleasure to watch you.😊

Only recently discovered John’s channel and can’t get enough of his videos. Wish I’d found it years ago. Best gardening advice I’ve ever seen on UA-cam. Comforting to see that even professional gardeners make mistakes. ❤

I love the advice about Patrick's Day as a marker for when to get things in. My grandmother used to say "get the garden planted by Good Friday" (this was in California). It does give you a "sign post" and I like that. Well, I'd better get busy. Patrick's Day is in a week! Good to see this nice long video. Thank you, John.

Be careful when you bend down to clear plants with stiff sticks as it can hurt your eyes. I nearly poked my eye out the other day when I bent over to pick a hydrangea out of my car.
You are right about other tv gardeners doing ‘fake’ stuff! 😊

I agree with everybody else that the longer the video the better.
I was told that we cut back buddliea because if we didn’t they would be so tall that we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the floral display or the butterflies (and in USA the hummingbirds) because they would all be high up. In Florida I’ve seen some about 12’ tall.

Get such a kick out of this Irishman! It reminds me not to handle everything in the garden so carefully and take so long to do a small job. Reminds me of my brother (well our great-grandfather did come from Kildare) with so much energy and zooming here and there and everywhere. Hello to John from Canada. If I ever get back to Ireland, will have to pop in! Ireland is an amazing place to visit! Loved all of it, but probably Dublin, northern Ireland and the west coast the best! Have learned a great deal from you about plants & discovered persicaria & sanguisorba are for sale in our local garden centres in eastern Canada. Love both and such good pollenators!

I learnt a lot about various plants from your videos. Thanks particularly for telling us about Rudbaeckia goldsturm. Now l have a long line of it in the garden & it looks absolutely stunning. Also pretty tough for Australian conditions & you can divide into heaps of plants.

John do you have any Bridal Wreath Spirea? I have yet to see anyone with a video of this plant where it looks like the pictures you find in a search. Which makes me apprehensive about buying any, because they might be a let down. Your plants are always gorgeous, so I imagine that if anyone could grow them to look like the pictures it would have to be you.

Possibly just my screen acting wonky (on just this video, though?)... but John looks slightly jaundiced.
Have a feeling he might not read the comments, but maybe the cameraman or a co worker might see this and ,if he looks yellow in person, ask if he is aware of it himself.
Seems like a cool guy and want him to stay healthy.
