    Dear Debbie, I may be worth the mention to clear rinse if you are cleaning prior to painting! Great looking tool, going to buy one with extra heads tomorrow!! Thank you! (Obviously, I'm PAINTING my garage ceiling too!)

      To be honest, If I am using TPS cleaner for prep (or maybe it's called TSP, lol) I don't usually clear rinse before painting. I haven't had any issues with the paint and have done my share of painting. If using the Dr. Bronner's it's a good idea to clear rinse perhaps? I think I have skipped that step most times without issue ☺You'll find the mop and bucket system to be so handy for so many things! Nearly all of my cleaning videos feature it because it makes my life so much easier 🙂 Thanks so much for stopping by! Best of luck with your cleaning and painting!

    Thank you so much Debbie dear. You have managed to galvanise me into finally getting to grips with my shameful kitchen ceiling! (When I enter my kitchen I try not to look up and see all the grime which has accumulated over time….). Today I’ve managed to clean about 2m2 but am taking a break as all that looking craning the neck up to the ceiling and (trying) to put well needed pressure on the mop at the same time has made my neck a bit tired )I’m no longer a young’un!!!). So I’m going to do a bit every day from now on😊. Thank you so much again for your down-to-earth (or should I say “up-to-the sky”!) approach and your genial manner 😊😊😊🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏😘

    It's amazing how microfiber cloths and flat mops have revoluctionized the industry. Looks like you have a great mopping system. I do suggest that, for best results, to dust mop or vacuum surfaces before mopping. Less risk of causing the dust to stick into the painted surfaces. Even the window cleaning profession has minimize ladder usage and has changed over to using poles. Yet enough reason for doing it your way.

    O'Cedar and others make similar mops, careful not to pinch yourself with this one. As for soap, Dawn and warm water works as good as anything unless you want a certain scent. And of course this works on walls and floors, also.

    • @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1
      @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1  3 місяці тому +1

      I have never pinched myself luckily. Personally I prefer Ivory because it has no dyes and I don't have to worry about any discolouring. It has happened to me before. I prefer Ivory's cleaning capabilities as well. It doesn't over foam which is easier to rinse and leaves no residue. I have tried pretty much every dish soap and cleaner available over my 35+ yrs of experience. Dr. Bronner's is my preferred wall, ceiling and floor cleaner because it works so well, doesn't require rinsing and has a wonderful scent. It is safe for nearly every kind of surface as well. I have lots of videos on this mop system's many uses and it does save lots of time on cleaning. Thanks so much for stopping by! Wishing you the best! 🙂

    I REALLY like your ceiling washing video. I had no idea how to wash the ceiling without having the soapy water run down my arms and get all over the place ! I didn't even know what to use. I've waited too long to do this and now is definitely the time. In fact, when I'm done washing the ceiling and walls ( I'm going to watch your Wall washing video next. ) I'm going to do some painting. Time to change the colors around here a bit. My linoleum floor is VERY dirty. I have a small orbital floor scrubber but regular soap doesn't seem to get the dirt out of the very small pin pricks of the pattern and there is some yellowing. What do you suggest ? Maybe just time to replace it ? Thanks for your helpful video(s) .

    • @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1
      @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1  3 роки тому +2

      Sometimes a magic eraser will help on floors. Do a test spot first. Even a scrub brush with some dish soap may get those crevices clean. Yellowing does occur on lino and it may not be able to be cleaned. It can be tough. I'm so glad the videos helped! I highly suggest trying the Dr. Bronner's Castile soap too! Most of my videos will show me using it for lots of different cleaning. It's amazing and replaces so many cleaners. Tis the season for spring cleaning! I hope yours goes nice and smooth! It's always nice to freshen things up and even if things aren't brand new looking, if they are clean, they will feel better. Wishing you the very best! Thanks for your kind support! :)

    Hi Debbie! Love the video. I need to clean a kitchen with a greasy 20 foot ceiling. I have a painters extension pole and was wondering if the mop will fit a stand extension pole. Any ideas? Thanks much!!

    • @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1
      @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Jim! The head is removable and may fit your extension pole, if the size of the pole ends are the same. A longer pole might make it harder to get the right pressure. I have an extendable squeegee and the pole gets more flimsy as it’s expanded. Maybe some scaffolding would help if there’s enough room to set up? They can be rented in some areas. 20 foot ceilings are beautiful, but not very practical maintenance wise. I hope that helps! Best of luck! Thanks for checking out the video! 😊

Lay down a towel to ensure you don't scratch your tub though. I hope that helps. I would love to do some more videos soon. After watching this video, I ordered the Vileda Mop and Bucket set. It's expensive, so I ordered from a TraderInn Retail Services in Spain. I was kinda leary because it was another country, but decided to go for it anyway. To keep it safe, I used my PayPal. I ordered on 10/21 and it shipped 10/22. I received it today, 11/12. I knew it would take some time, so that was okay. It was a seamless transaction. They kept in communication with me and provided a tracking number. I knew when it left Spain, when it arrived in America and all stops within both countries. They provided contact information via phone and email. They were also the cheapest price, $26 & $18.99 shipping for a total of $46.50. Everywhere I looked in my Internet search was around $69.99 for the set. It was a great transaction with no problems 😊. I had mold that was on clothing that had been in storage for a few years. It eventually transfer to the walls. Had it tested and it was not black mole. I've already done the kitchen, bathroom, hall and bedroom walls. I just have the livingroom, foyer and ceilings. I used a regular mop, then a sponge mop and it was labor intense and difficult. I had said that I just couldn't do the ceilings until I ran across your video and this product. Now I feel confident that I can finish everything. I had an allergic reaction when I did the kitchen, but l learned from that and used protective gear for the other rooms. @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1  Рік тому +1

      Drop ceilings are such a clumsy cleaning job ☺️ Yes, this will work for most drop ceilings, although some do not take water well. I suggest testing a spot and using very minimal amounts of moisture. Make sure your mop is well wrung and be super gentle. The ceiling will likely move, so be super careful not to apply much pressure or you could break a drop tile. Whoever invented these ceilings were not cleaners! It may be easier to take each tile out very carefully and clean them on a flat surface. Sorry that probably wasn’t much help! It’s a finicky ceiling style! 😅

    If you had mildew and mold on a bathroom ceiling, what would you use as your cleaner instead?

    • @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1
      @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1  11 місяців тому

      I would use the same thing. The lavender in Dr. Bronner’s is a natural antibacterial. If that doesn’t work, bleach mixed according to directions with hot water is an alternative but absolutely can not be mixed with any other cleaners or soaps because it creates tear gas which is deadly. Some moulds are better dealt with by professionals so be careful. Water areas such as showers can grow back mould easily and better ventilation may be necessary 💕

      I had mold on my bathroom ceiling and didn't want to repaint because I rent. I used Mold Armor and the sponge ( with netting so it had some friction) side of a long squeegee, and it came off surprisingly easily. It is also a preventative and it hasn't come back in the last six months. I hate using strong cleaners but mold is really unhealthy. Definitely use a good respirator though between the cleaner and the mold.

    • @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1
      @DebbieNobodyneedstoknow1  2 роки тому

      I think it depends on the type and brand of flat paint used. You could perhaps do a test spot on a closet ceiling or inconspicuous spot. I have cleaned some with success, but they are much harder to clean because the mop does not move as easily over the surface. The ceiling in this video is like an eggshell finish with a light sheen. It will certainly take a layer or two of grease off. Dr. Bronner’s is very effective, or you can use Ivory dishwashing liquid in your water as a substitute. Soot is hard to clean but this method with the Dr. Bronner’s is your best bet. Hard areas may require some magic eraser and elbow grease, or going over the area with the mop twice. It depends on how bad it is. Dry mopping won’t likely do anything unless there are lots of webs that need removing first. I hope the soot cooperates! The new smell of a new home? Unfortunately the ‘new’ smell of anything can linger depending on the chemicals that are used to make the items. Formaldehyde is one such thing. Lots of fresh air may help to lessen the smell. Open windows if possible. You can add scents to try to over power the smell, but unfortunately new smell is an off gas that will not have a magic time span for lessening. Only organic materials will not off gas with that funky new smell. I hope that helps. If you have a specific item with new smell, please let me know and I will try to be more specific. Popcorn ceilings and some textured ceilings will have somewhat of a plaster type finish that comes off when you add moisture. The best way to take care of a "popcorn" ceiling is to never have one sprayed / rolled on ! It's a lot of work to scrape them off, but if it's done correctly, it's worth it to just go back to a flat ceiling. Most people have the popcorn ceiling applied because of cracks in their ceiling. Even if you have to have pro's come in and replace the drywall on the ceiling - it's a better option than the roll on or spray on popcorn ceiling.

      @@mikefahlenkamp9084 Mike the lighting wasn’t great but I assure you that the bucket of dirty water afterwards didn’t lie. It freshened it up. I did the video to show the method and tools used by professionals. It will even work on most nicotine jobs if you use Dr. Bronner’s. It will at least get a few layers off, way better than most cleaners. The equipment saves you climbing ladders and hours of scrubbing. Best wishes!

      I assure you that I have zero sponsors. I used this system for many years and it is the best at cleaning walls. I’m just trying to make life easier for people. You can check out my other videos using it. Do you really think a company would pay ME for my videos? They really are amateur. Companies only chose fancy ladies with fancy houses for their ads. I’m 53 and live in an RV. This video was taken in an RV …..geesh! All the best to you tho. I tried to help
