Thanks Nigel. For less than the cost of a good diffusion filter that's the rage now, I think they are a good or possibly alternative for a film-like look. And for that look perhaps what some might want for stylized professional shoots, like interviews. I'd be interested in trying them on a 4K M4/3 camera like the G9 or Gx8 that shoots 4k crop to see the effect, and how much focus breathing they have. I like the antique Bokeh that could be mistaken for a classic Schneider film lens. Some similar 'cheapies' I like that work on Micro 4/3, APS-C and Full frame are:
- Minolta Rokkor 45mm f/2 pancake lens - good video interview lens on M4/3 and makes Full-frame Alpha camera look like a Leica film camera - Good street photography lens on Full-frame.
- The classic Sigma 24mm and 28mm F2.8 full frame - pretty sharp wide open with nice coatings.
- Schneider Kreuznach Retina f:2.8/35
- Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon 50mm F1.9
