Awesome video! Great to see more support for m43. Honestly the only grief I have using m43 cameras/system is dealing with other videographers and photographers at times. Even random people I meet on trips that know a little about cameras would be like … ‘you should buy a full frame camera’ - it’s a little nuts. My day job has gifted me a Canon R5 with a 28-70 f2 lens. Sure, it produces beautiful imaging, but I never felt it was nearly as versatile as my m43 set (oly e-M1 ii with the 1.2 primes, and pana Leica 12mm 1.4) for the way I shoot. I do a lot of run and gun style shooting, and i just feel the superior build quality / weather sealing, the smaller form factor and incredible image stabilization makes it un-matched for this way of working. The R5 I use mainly as a studio kind of camera… and even for those shots I swap out certain videos with the Olympus. Viewers can never tell when I’m using a different camera, and I would even argue that ‘pros’ won’t be able to tell either. It’s just super annoying talking to camera and gear fans that think it’s full frame or nothing. Marketing got a lot of them good, to the point where they make it annoying for people who shoot a different format

I'm so stoked that you're diving deep into the EM1-MK2. I've always found the cannon colours fantastic straight out of the camera, so would love any content (or if anyone can point me towards Nigel's existing content) about getting good enough colours out of the EM1 straight out of the camera (I've found the EM1 to have some weird skin colour changes). Keep it up you legend! :-)
I am glad that you tried out Olympus and you like it. I swtiched from Sony a7sII to E-M1 II and never looked back. I really like the colors Olympus gives out of box, and the image stabilization is fantastic.
MFTs on eBay often come with a variety of nice lenses for less than the price of a body on other systems. You can get good deals because often the seller is upgrading to FF and wants to get rid of their whole old kit. For me it's GH4, GH5 and GX8.
As you said... it's not the camera! Lighting, Story,audio, acting that's what counts. An experienced videographer knows all the elements and can use it to his/her advantage😊
Anyone buying a used Olympus E-M1 Mark 2, be sure and upgrade to the latest version 3 firmware. That firmware solved the CAF movie mode focus difficulties and pretty much made a good camera an excellent camera. Love my Olympus cameras for video and stills.
Good points. I finally gave in and bought the Canon R6, after lots of research. I am glad I did - it can basically shoot in the dark, and the stabilization works well on my vintage lenses. I think it only makes sense to spend that much if you have a larger channel, however. I never would have bought a camera that expensive a couple of years ago. The full-frame is amazing with a 50mm lens - I can now hand-hold it and get a good field of view, whereas on my old Canon 80D with the APS-C sensor, that 50 was near unusable without a tripod.
Yeah but that price tag is not friendly lol. But I guess the autofocus pays off, for me I am quite comfortable with m43. Its much cheaper to own and adapt pretty much any kind of lenses.
MFT gang! I actually had an EOS M with Magic Lantern installed before my G7/G85 and navigating ML wasn’t worth the potential of RAW video at the time (although I didn’t know how to edit RAW at the time and have since learned to work in Davinci Resolve).
I'm such a micro four nerd, I have the G85, a GX85, and a G9. Working on kitting out the G85 for filming. G9 rocks for stills, and the GX is a good walking around do everything camera. The only thing I wish for is that they all shared batteries.
@nigelbarros . Can u use a external monitor on the G85? I have black magic 4K. Just can’t believe I can’t use a external monitor on my g7.. Have that that Panasonic app. But that’s just silly.
My issue with mft is auto focus. I sold my g7 because honestly I was getting better video on both my iPhone with DJI stabilizer and go pro 9. Both took better video. The second shortfall that ended being a deal breaker for me was the cost of lenses and the terrible low light functionality. So I guess I’m ready for full frame but I’m not sure where to start I think Sony?

I'm currently using a sony NEX6 that i purchased earlier for around 200$ used with kit lens. a really nice camera with quite good autofocus. but the sony NEX menu, it is just not user friendly

Have been using the em1.2 for the last 4 years and it’s hard to go to anything else once you’ve had a camera this long!

I was looking so hard at canon m50 with speedbooster. But is it just me or does it look like garbage?
Don't get the M50 for video. It looks horrible compared to other brands in a similar price range.
unless you want a bigger sensor with good autofocus, I'd say try the E-m1 MkII. BUT I have seen amazing things from h=the M50 in the right hands
