Nigel single handedly carrying the MFT camera segment and we love him for it.
MFT for videos actually. There are few photographers/ youtuber still loyalty to Olympus .
Video. No one can compare with this guy for sure
That color grade! Man you make m4/3 look like 16 stops of dynamic range 👏👏👏
Wow: So, so many things you mentioned struck a chord with me, how I think:
1. I "always shoot with 2 cameras" and my method has been to have 2 shots, wide & tight, that have approximately 2x each other's focal length (wide = approximately 17mm and tight = 35mm!)
2. What I normally use is a .71x (Viltrox) focal reducer with a Nikon 50 1.8 which is a 35.5mm...at 1.2.
3. I am super into matching lenses to sensors, and that lens looks REALLY good with that sensor!!!
4. Similar to the above last note, I think having a little less sharpness can be really helpful to remove the "digital" look from certain cameras!😃
Honestly that test footage looks a lot like full frame!
yup equivalent to 70mm f2.8 on a full frame
micro 4/3 has some of the coolest cheap lenses!
Thank you for this - I brought the lens and loved it- It reminds me of an old 35mm lens I brought in the past - It's very cinematic.
That lens looks nice man. I watched this on tv and it was pleasing 👍🏾👍🏾
i have the same 35mm lens which i bought after using the 25mm one.....7artisans lenses are soo underated... i love what i get on those lenses
I appreciate the succinct video and information. Subscribed.
Another amazing video
beautiful
Great video very informative
I use EF mount for my gx85 this is a great introduction native lens
My favourite would be TTartisan 🙌🏼
I have a canon EF 50 F1.8 + speed booster so it's 75mm F1 4 ish with my M/43 camera. It's so sharp lens 😘
nice!
I’ve actually been wanting to use my old Olympus camera
Thanks for this video. You're one of the creators that solidified my decision on sticking with m4/3. I have the bmpcc4k and the gx80. And I really love the system. But do you think there will come a time when you will abandon m4/3? And if so, what would be your main reason to switch?
Simple, Full Frame is better in every way imaginable.
@@shzammpatapon9865 full frame definitely has the advantage of image quality and noise performance in high iso, but I can think of a lot of negatives as well:
- higher pricetag
- heavier and bigger lenses (really important when traveling)
- sensor can't be easily adapted. With the sensor size of apsc or m43 you still have the option to more easily attach or adapt vintage lenses. It's possible on fullframe of course, but it just is easier on small frame.
But if money and weight isn't an issue then full frame is no doubt a great choice
@@Youknowthebo higher pricetag, also higher resale value. they are no m43 camera that have high resale value. a7c is better than all m43 and very light. i don't know what crap you're talking about, full frame is just as easy to adapt vintage lens since they are all mirrorless especially when it is the same size as the film era. so it's easier. your fanboyism is showing. full frame is better in every way
@@shzammpatapon9865 mate, I was agreeing with some of your points, but adding to it. You just can't say that something is better in all ways. Disregarding potential negatives is what you call fanboyism. It's like saying a Lamborghini is the best car and disregarding costs and place of living. Imagine telling that a farmer. The Lamborghini is worse on gravel road.
And yes, resale value is better. But if you don't have the funds, then resale value is neglactable.
Furthermore, I said that full frame is adaptable. It's just easier on smaller sensors.
Plus I said lenses are heavier not the body.
Before getting all aggressive let's just have a constructive dialog. I agreed with you and just added. I did not oppose you.
@@Youknowthebo Sure, sorry if you think I'm aggresive, it's in written form so the intonation cannot be conveyed. However, it is easier to adapt on full frame as you get full coverage of the lens. It's not even a point. As for the higher resale part I understand.
The only things I've dealt with cheap and fast landed me a visit to the clinic.
Just purchased my first m43 camera, olympus em1mkII(thanks to you and ICME) along with a used Sigma 18-35 1.8 and a speed booster. The sigma and the speed booster was a bit of an investment. my question is, do you think this 35mm is worth getting? or will my new setup have that range covered? Thanks!
Get one if you want to mess with f1.4 but a 18mm-35mm f1.8 will get the job done perfectly i used to have a similar set up but with a g7 and it worked wonders if anything invest in a 11-16 tokina or a 50mm
useless to buy this if you have that type of lens
Just added to my cart, (still too broke as a struggling filmmaker) will buy as soon as clients pay me!
Micro 4/3 is love, Micro 4/3 is life.
Amigo, parabéns pelo trabalho, acompanho sempre, I could talk in english, but I wanna know, qual a sua ligação com o Brasil?
Hi do you find not having auto focus on these lenses a problem when shooting video?
Does it auto focus?
Will this work on mirrorless cameras like the M50, Sony ZV-E10 and ZV1?
Are there any lenses similar but wider than this?
Is this good for g85?
Mft bagus 👍👍👍
What was the diameter of this lens so you can use a Tilta? The video measured 54.5mm but the Amazon links to page with loads of different sizes. :-)
So which size is it ? :O
they also had the f0.95
why you love and buy budget things ?
HI NIGEL!
can I use this in Panasonic lumix GH4 for photography and videography?
TQ.
f/ 1.4 its great
