It's not just women of a particular culture or religion who don't like being harassed. I'm so sick of drunk, entitled, aggressive men who see a woman alone as fair game. Well done for stepping in. Can't help thinking the crew could have done more during the flight to defuse the situation and protect the woman.

A few years back, I was driving my car to a mates place at around 11:30 pm when all of a sudden in the middle of the road I could see a woman running towards my car so I pulled the car over and stopped. She then went on to tell me that she thinks a person on a bicycle is following her, so I said to hop in and I’ll drive you home but she was cautious about that and asked if I could pull the car over and walk her to her house, so l pulled over and walked with her to her home where her mother was waiting for her. They offered me money as a thank you but I refused it and walked back to my car and went to my mates place.

You are right, I have noticed that too. I think Asian Men are standing up less most probably cuz of feminism. As the image of Asia as a patriarchal society most men don't want to be seen as some macho to the rescue of a girl. There are a lo of cases in these traditional societies where things take a u-turn and the girl turns on the saviour.

That "looking the other way" is terrible, and sadly very common. Last year in Copenhagen main station an elderly homeless man fell down really hard in front of a bunch of people, including myself. He hit his head so hard, the blood was dripping onto the floor. And yet nobody took action and everyone just stood there watching him until I encouraged the locals to call for help while I was assisting the poor man. As a foreign tourist, I didn't really know who to call and had to actually convince somebody to seek help for him.

In India, emergency numbers are generally standardized across the country. The primary emergency numbers are the same in every state:
      Police: 100
      Fire: 101
      Ambulance: 108
In India, 112 is the single emergency helpline number, designed to provide access to various emergency services. It integrates multiple emergency response services, such as:
      Police
      Fire
      Ambulance
      Disaster Management
      Women’s Safety
By dialing 112, callers can reach these services for assistance in any type of emergency. This number is similar to 911 in the United States or 999 in the United Kingdom, providing a unified, easy-to-remember emergency contact number for the entire country.

Women in this world would be so happy to know that there are still good men like Josh in this world. That will jump in to protect them in a situation like this! I am sure any woman that has gone through something like this, which is very distressing, would renew their faith in mankind. This poor woman looked so distressed that she just wanted it to end and go away. i know, she will not forget it, and she will say a prayer for Josh, for standing up for her.
It is a huge risk to take on as you could get injured, but it is the right thing to do! i hope you get the recognition you deserve even though you prefer not to make an issue about it.
You literally do take your job so seriously, Josh, don't you??
Not only do you protect future passengers, to make sure safety protocols are followed by the Airlines and calling them out on it when they fail, or when they promise to deliver a service but once on their plane, you are a hostage of theirs, as they do what they want.
Thanks for informing the public, to be aware of these bad practices as no one else is policing them, and that is why they feel they can do what they want and get aware with it. It is desperately needed.
I will never forget my first flight some 25 years ago. i have since flown quite a bit since then, but i am still so angry when i think about how unfairly i was treated by the Airline. As i wasn't an adult then and was traveling alone, my parents that booked the fight to travel overseas to visit relatives for the summer holidays.
It was going to be a long trip half way across to world. My parents made sure they bought the best seat on the plane that was in the front and that had a lot of leg room to be able stretch as i still had to catch two more flights before reaching my destination. I still remember the Airline, Sabina Airlines out of Belgium. i didn't speak French which was a disadvantage. As soon as i got seated on the plane, the crew came to me and said that they needed that seat and moved me to a seat in the back of the plane, which i found out after takeoff, was a smoking section. (In the old days the planes would designate the last 3 rows of seats for smokers). Since I didn't speak French, i didn't protest much. And then the crew tried to bribe with liquor when i was not even of drinking age!! Winking at me, like it was their little secret with me, and what a deal i made! They were shocked when i refused the liquor. Because i am slightly asthmaic, i was miserable with the toxic fumes of the smokers. I never forgave that Airline for doing what they did.
My parents who were very upset about it, and also found out it was pretty common that particular Airline to bump passengers out of seats if they needed it for someone else. Had they know this, my parents would have never booked with the Airline. I never did tell them, how they then tried to bribe me with alcohol because they were already mad as hell about the whole thing.
A few years later i heard with all the complaints the Airline declared bankruptcy and no longer exists. Karma!!!
The bad part is the Airline was able to operate for several years providing the worst service before the public was fully aware of its record, as social media did not exist, and we didn't have the Josh's of the world policing them! Thank God for social media and more importantly for Josh, for his invaluable work for the flying public! Today, we can immediately find out how they are performing and choose not to fly with that Airline. Nobody likes being ripped off, or being disrespected!!
There are so many horror stories of Airlines from passengers all over the world. The saddest ones are of an Airline having complaint after complaint for deteriorating planes that were not taken seriously with short cuts taken in maintenance of the engines, causes the plane to fail, killing everyone on board!
It would be great if Josh could do a few videos of past problematic Airlines with numerous complaints that were not taken seriously, that also were an indication of, poor performance in the maintenance of the planes engines, which tragically ended up with the plane crashing and killing everyone on board. I am sure there are several examples. When there are issues with the front end, they are a good indicator that are issues going on with the back end too ie maintenance issues of the planes, which has dire consequences.

We call it a "Bait and Switch" scam in the US!
Used Car Salespeople used to play these tricks. They used to post a picture of a car that had a great price but when you went to the dealership they would force you into a more expensive vehicle. If you asked for the advertised car, they would tell you it sold already.
This is far worse by Salem Air as they already took your money and scammed you.
In the US, the Airline would be sued for millions of dollars!!

God bless you Josh, as a woman who's been stalked home from uni by a creep (he was a Chinese international male student at Curtin Uni in Perth in 2009) and with a bus *full* of people - none of which did anything - despite me shouting "STOP FOLLOWING ME!", only one lady smiled at me, like "I'm not going to do anything but here's my sad face", and the bus driver yelled at me for trying to quickly get off and on again to evade the stalker, it infuriates and frightens me how passive and apathetic people are when it comes to sexual harassment, they just 'don't want to get involved', blame the victims to explain away their own inaction. Shame on them, good on you, and thank you! Oh, and the uni did nothing, police said it's not a crime to follow someone home. Two weeks later he physically assaulted a woman who more robustly refused his advances. What fun it is being a woman!

Remember hearing some horror stories of people being stalked at Lakeside Joondalup when I worked there. At Christmas they move staff parking to an overflow carpark at the ECU campus, and required staff to walk unguided at 9PM to cars. An incident occurred (that never should have) that resulted in a change in how the process is done, but it should have never happened. Till this day I am very conscious of my female staffs safety, pushing back against shopping centre parking requirements to ensure they are parked right next to the entrance of the shop in a camera monitored and well lit area. Nobody deserves to feel unsafe in public.

The guy who was drunk is a sinhalese and in the recent time most sri lankan sinhalese people have took a nationalistic approach and in the process to ban the right for a women to wear the hijab so ig that's why he reacted like that cuz when someone is under the influence of alcohol there true colors show up. There a ton of sick minded people who fetishize these women because they cover themselves which resembles purity and that's why they do this
Sadly nothing would be done to the guy he wouldn't even be locked up or filed a case just let go after he offers a bribe or something.
Btw You are awesome dude!!! What a brave and human thing to do which most people lack in this era, tysm for standing up for that her

Good job! I can’t stand it when people try to ignore a situation because they can’t be bothered. Kudos for helping and stepping in.

Josh , fate decided to place you , exactly were you would be needed. Clearly, no one other passenger had an interest in helping a lady in distress.
You are now , and forever more will be known as , Sir Josh , The Galant Knight. Well done Josh. ✈️
