I have been deeply perturbed by the fact that Qatar are housing Hamas in their country !
I have flown many times with them in the past. After flying with United Emirates and Etihad and being treated in a very dismissive way by the female staff. I chose not to fly with them ... hence I chose Qatar.
Now I will not fly with any of the Middle Eastern Airlines in the future !

I am a huge football fan I didn't watch the World Cup apart from my team England and I was sort of hoping we got knocked out early. We got knocked out QF stage after shocking Refs so I did care, but I would usually watch the Final I didn't, Eventhough Messi is to me the best player in the world. And that game was the best game apparently. I wasn't interested. I would never visit the Middle East. I like the fact Emirates send the A380 to my local Birmingham helps the economy along with Qatar and Saudia but I would only use them to connect to Asia, I would never visit those countries. To Qatar Airways: Honestly Josh's bad review would not prohibit me from flying with you guys - after all, it's just two flights and may not be representative of all of your flights. There are also times that I disagree with flight reviewers and have had better experiences than what they commented. However, paying for the video to be removed, banning reviewer for unfavourable review and dismissing the crew would make me decide against flying with Qatar Airways as I don't want my air fares to be supporting such disgraceful acts.

Josh, I think you missed mentioning, that the whole point of flight reviews is to help airlines improve their product. How else would an airline know that the product they offer is one of the "best in the world" if everyone only present the good to the company? Perhaps Qatar Airways want to wait until the ratings and public perception of the airline diverged so much, that ridership plummets. Even then, the airline would struggle to figure out what went wrong because they would have destroyed the critical, honest feedback that they need to improve.

    • @artgreen6915
      @artgreen6915 9 місяців тому +1

Haha. As the other (so far) reply says perhaps this should be the point of reviews. Sadly not all companies see reviews that way though. At the worst end of the spectrum you'll be aware of the controversy around Amazon and other product and service reviews sometimes suspected of being fake, paid for or induced. Many companies see reviews as a game to be played and the more that behave that way, the higher the pressure on the moral fibre of others because it becomes harder to compete.
I agree with you on what reviews SHOULD be about.
Trust in reviews is now wafer thin because people suspect incentives are not fully disclosed in many cases.

We have an expression in the USA - “Turning a misdemeanor into a felony”. Qatar did precisely this. They could have apologized, cleaned up their act, ignored the video…done a bunch of things… but they decided to go nuclear. And what has it gotten them?
This is what happens when petty autocrats get power. They don’t look at criticism as an opportunity for reflection and improvement, but as an attack on their hubris and respond accordingly. I’ve always said, the biggest predictor of someone’s (be it a person, company or country) eventual downfall is their level of hubris.

They left me without any justification and only for extra hand luggage. I agreed to return the luggage to the cargo department and pay for the extra piece, but the manager said its not possible and I either have to pay 1000$ or leave my pack behind or lose my flight. I couldn’t leave the pack behind because it was my personal sanitary pack so I agreed to pay the 1000$ . But they said they can't accept dollars and I must pay in Malaysian currency, which i didn't have . So they mocked and insulated me and unloaded my luggage. Hi Josh, I worked my self for Qatar airways for more than 12 years at a managerial level so I know a lot about what is going on “behind the scene”. What you have reported about dismissing people, is just an example of how Qatar Airways appreciates (or actually doesn’t appreciate) the work of its employees. What they have achieved all these years is built on the hard work of expats. But for them expats are just a workforce without dignity. I do not want to get into cultural issues, but honestly, the way they treat people is manifested in their culture. Whenever they are confronted with a situation that they cannot resolve the way they want, they just dismiss people. I am happy that at the end of the day Akbar Al Baker got a taste of his own bitter medicine.

Qatar is the airline that held women hostage and even took them off their flights to force them to have intimate examinations because an infant had been found in a rubbish bin at the airport. I'm willing to bet it was no traveler who did this but a desperate local girl who had to hide an unwanted pregnancy for fear of the severe punishment if she was caught. You’re right about the crew being exhausted, unhappy and probably underpaid that I heard them nagging about special meals on a long haul flight. My first class experience was worse than one of my economy class experiences, the flight attendant in my first class trip gave me a wrong immigration card before landing in Cairo and assured me that it was the right one when I doubted it was for me after reading the title which caused me significant delay after it was refused by the immigration officer who gave me another form and asked me to fill it and get in the line again! @Claudfoz Well they clearly got fired because of one sector and the review did not highlight any gross misconduct, just a comment on their level of motivation.
Knowing their roster patterns they could do 20+ flights per month and not in passenger seats but moving in a cabin constantly serving customers without even a proper meal break sometimes.
And by the way, fatigue is not a personal issue. It's a body's response to chronic stress and absense of proper rest caused by work overload.
I'm not looking for excuses, I just wish that people who don't do crazy shifts and physical work at their jobs would understand that cabin crew are doing their best to deliver great service utilizing available resources but at the end of the day we are not immortal and we also get tired, hungry, sleepy etc like any other human being regardless of occupation

And if a crew is a single bread winner for their family doing hard work they're not in a position to loose their job in such a savage way. Again, not for gross misconduct but for being a human.
No excuses though, I know that everybody has different levels of compassion towards other humans and not everybody will understand. Just supporting my colleagues here. I know how hard they work.

Fly emarites is bad, i flied there airline 2 times and They treated me badly, one flight attendant Gave me a bad look for no reason and The engine was not alright and they had to make us wait for 2 hours with no water, they only refunded 100 pounds, And the second time they cancelled my flight because i came 1 minute late, its awful how they treat me! So i will always Continue flying qatar airways, Its my favorite, no trouble, i travelled emirates and the flight attendants also forced everyone to turn of there Ac! which was horrible, my daughter that is 3 months old was rushed to the hospital after this! it was a 8 hour flight!
my sister used to work for emarites and they also treated it like shit!
now she works in qatar airways and i dont bother saying shes really happy for working with them!

For anyone that flys Qatar with relative frequency, the decline in the Qatar experience is impossible to ignore. I think this video will be the catalyst for them to either seriously improve their quality of service and staff treatment, or else allow themselves to further decline into a 3rd tier airline.

    Hi Josh
I am not surprised with what has happened to you and Qatar Airways
My wife and I had an incident over the meal service in December 2022, we were not fed as they had run out of meals
When I asked where are our meals, the cabin manager said that they have a full flight and have run out, REALLY!!!
I gave them a suggestion like anything left in business class, anything, we are on a flight to Melbourne from Doha and we need to eat
They offered us pretzels and coke, UNREAL!!!
They then said being that you are in the last row on our next service (breakfast) you will be served first, I then said can you please warm up our breakfast and we will eat that now
We were refused, not much we could do as we did not want to make a scene, Oh! btw we did not accept the pretzels we had nothing
When we got home I wrote an email to their customer service about the incident and waited over 3 months for a response, they just send us a generic response which would of been a cut & paste message, we are flying again next year and we both refuse to travel Qatar with the experience all stated above
During your video, what stuck in my mind was, you are not Sam Chui and do not get bribed, BRAVO, that is one reason I do not subscribe to him,
Also I sent an #unband Josh Cahill to Qatar in instagram, and I have also shared your video to most of my drivers here at work over (120) of them who travel regularly

Their failure in handling A320 and A321 orders, leading to cancellations by Airbus, is just as unprofessional as using older planes and less skilled crews for routes to countries like India. Dear Josh, I am completely shocked about that. I have never heard something about this. But for myself: I was fliying since 2002 Qatar Airways and made about 16 trips with them up to 2016 in Economy and Business Class. I was always very happy with them. But then, my wife and I decided not flying anymore with them because of all negative reportings about the FIFA World Cup 2022. Also I was not agreed with AB to dispute on court with Airbus. I did not want to fly also with an airline which release so many untruth and brings so much turbulence into aviation. A country which thinks that they stand over everything with human rights etc. Your video showed me how they act with their crew and kicked them out of the company. That is not acceptable, but maybe a chance for them to switch to an airline which accepts human rights and does not put them under pressure like they hav done it right now. For all my personal friends I will show this story and then they can decide by their own if they fly them again. The main problem is that they don't accept our way of live, but on the other side we have to agree with their kind of living. Anyway thanks very much for your release (including your right of the freedom of speach in a free country where you live) and I guess you can live with the fact that your video is no longer visible for the 3 mio. I remember Al Baker being quoted several years ago "Economy passengers don't notice when you reduce the legroom" which made me think that I would never choose Qatar.
Lo and behold, earlier this year we had a two-leg flight with BA which code-shared with Qatar via Doha.
On the return, they brought the flight time forward by an hour, then had a delayed takeoff making us 45 minutes late into Doha, leaving only 30 minutes to make the connection to the BA flight.
On arrival in the UK, my luggage, along with about 40 others', was missing.
It took two weeks for it to be returned, having been in Doha the entire time (gosh, who would have guessed) and my case was damaged beyond use.

The worste business class - extremely rude staff who hate assisting customers like providing water you have to ask 4x for it to be given, broken business class seats that do not recline, cold rotten food, dirty plane even had food droppings that looked like vomit under the seat (I have fotos), broken luggage, non existent customer service. Staff will find ways to hit you on the head and step on your foot then will go ballistic and insist they never did. Business class has no priority boarding here, they will let the mob economy people to ride ahead of you. Business class staff will pretend to assist you carrying your luggage but after at the airport you will be surprised that the handle of your bag will be nonstop tested for traces of narcotics when no one else touched your bag except their stewardess. You have to run to catch your connecting flight as they will arrive late like 10 mins before takeoff of your next flight which they also own. They will insist to checkin your one tiny cabin bag as they are full then will return it to you broken and will ignore any requests for compensation. To people who regularly travel, we truly know what is going on. Unfriendly airport help desk. Once they even cancelled my economy flight, I had to rebook on the exact same flight on Business, but when I boarded, the economy was almost empty.

Marc Bennett (c. 1967 - 24 December 2019) was a British travel advisor who died under mysterious circumstances in Doha, Qatar. Bennett was employed by the Qatar Airways company Discover Qatar to promote the image of Qatar following the nation's selection as the host of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. After leaving the job and showing interest in a rival Saudi company, Bennett was arrested and said that he was tortured. He was found hanged in his hotel room on 25 December 2019.

I am an African employee and I experience the worst form of hate you can ever imagine when it comes to doing my work. Reporting to management doesn’t help because I stand a risk of losing my job if I decide to raise a complaint on the treatment that I get. There’s been previous crew who got fired for trying to ask for help concerning the racism. I thought I was the problem until I started interviewing the African people who work as crew, it cannot be a coincidence that all Africans are complaining about the same issue with regards to treatment. The Supervisors on board lack support to crew and are only there to serve as hawks for the company putting unnecessary pressure on crew, and they are ready to get crew into trouble. Next time if you see an African crew on board please be kind, Africans are going through a lot in this company and no matter how cautious we try to be at the job we still get the short end of the stick. Part of the work nature is to hate Africans. Please be kind when you see an African on Qatar airways, emotionally we are in pain we have no choice but to stay because have families to take care of.

So i will always Continue flying qatar airways, Its my favorite, no trouble, i travelled emirates and the flight attendants also forced everyone to turn of there Ac! which was horrible, my daughter that is 3 months old was rushed to the hospital after this! it was a 8 hour flight!
my sister used to work for emarites and they also treated it like shit!
now she works in qatar airways and i dont bother saying shes really happy for working with them!
qatar airways is amazing, and there Airline is wonderful and really safe and do not force anyone to turn of there ac nor Give them a bad flight review! I would never fly emarites and will continue fly qatar airways.

I am flying well over 100K every year and all of it in first class when available, so my reaction simply is to put this airline on my black list to avoid. Airlines usually represent the culture of the country they are from, so I am not surprised here. So it's simple, as a customer I have the choice whom to give my money to. And I exercise this choice. 'Nuff said.

Funny how this was posted after my worst experience in Qatar Airways few days ago after they overbooked the tickets preventing myself flying from Doha to JFK leaving at 1:25 am instead they rebooked me at a 3PM flight causing me to wait 13 more hours in the airport, they did the same to a muslim family who are a group of 5+ people who were also suppose to leave at the same hour but on a different flight, never again with Qatar. I also heard alot of disappointments how people get "Qatared" when they book a Qsuite to find out they get a old business class 2-2-2 configuration and they seem to do this commonly, especially changing A380 to smaller aircraft, yikes. I don't understand how Qatar is the "#1 winning airline" as they say, I think Emirates is imo.
