For your entertainment, I'd put my 1998 Yak-40 flight from Bishkek to Tashkent up against anyone's (no crash) flight. The 'bus' from the terminal to the aircraft was an open top baggage carrier pulled by a farm tractor. Luckily, I was on the first of two groups. After the tractor groups were seated, we could hear a noisy and rowdy argument going on the tarmac at the aft stairway. Eleven, yes, eleven more pax boarded the Yak-40!!! All, with their luggage, ended up *STANDING* - from the rear cargo net & lav area right up to the jump seat! The FA stood bcz an armed security guy occupied the jump seat. The cockpit had the PIC & FO *PLUS* another armed guard crammed in there! The floor bolts for my seat were loose, and the interior cabin padding sections on at least six rows were held together with duct tape. The meal of juice, a cheese & crackers packet, and a chocolate square came in a knotted plastic bag with a tiny wet wipe. The rollout, over Soviet-era concrete slab runway at screaming throttle took every available meter of that airstrip. We must've cleared the group of small sheds after the overrun by mere meters because I could clearly see, and I'm not joking, several scattering goats and ducks right outside my dirty window. To clear the mountain range towards Tashkent, it took four or five switchbacks to climb to the necessary altitude - and still, snow-covered mountains were on both sides of the aircraft for most of the flight. The descent was basically a straight in dive and approach to the runway. Braking was so intense that we were met on the taxiway by a tanker truck that sprayed down the gear, causing steam to totally obscure the terminal for a couple of minutes. We deplaned on the taxiway and walked to the terminal. *TOP THAT, ANYONE* ?

I really enjoyed the video - Josh took the flight with good grace and understanding of the situation. Even more importantly, given the country the plane was heading to and migrant worker demographic it was aimed at, it's very likely that Josh was one of if not the wealthiest person on the plane. And yet, multiple people showed the care to ask him if this was really his flight and show concern about his seat selection (even if it was the perfect one for the video). I was about to say a 530 seat 777 flight is even worse .. .It isn't, the a330 has a narrower cabin than the 787 but tries to cram in 9 across , is much louder and arguably slower than a 777-300 , and the window seats are uncomfortable as the cabin geometry curves aggressively inwards. Literal south Asian bus with wings, i bet they will add bars for passengers to stand in the aisles and increase the capacity even more lol. You are brave for trying this lol.

Hi Josh! I have been following you for a long time. I really like how honest and genuine your videos are. Personally being an av geek myself, I think you are doing a great job! Coming to US Bangla, the US Bangla Business group is a conglomerate established by some Expatriate Bangladeshis living in the United States. They do have other business entities as well. But US Bangla is their flagship enterprise. This particular aircraft was actually bought to ferry migrant workers to the Middle East. They wanted to provide low cost transportation for these people. Hence the beast! Although their safety record is debatable, but while I used to live in Bangladesh, I always used to fly US Bangla. Both their flight deck and cabin crews are exceptionally well behaved and very friendly. I am sorry you had a bad food experience in this flight but I tell you they had some of the best food in their regular and normal flights. Hope you will fly some of their regular normal aircraft’s too at some point! Cheers! Zunu
This is what I love about you Josh, you will give almost any airline I try, this one just looks absolute carnage, jeezo, it is scary to think there is actual airlines like this in the world 🙈👍✈️
I think you're happy that it wasn't a 12 hour flight or something. I would never fly this airline to be honest, but it was a very interesting video to watch! Greeting from AMS Live on UA-cam! :)
I thank you sir you come to Bangladesh again. I am biggest fan of yours. Us-bangla is second class airlines that I think also low prices airlines. Work class people or people go around with lower prices airlines to save little money.

If USB is flying a 450-seat A330 with almost all seats full then it is actually win for them. Congrats to them 😅 I guess ! Its looks brutal but we Bangladeshis do not care for comfort that much, just flying in airplane is like a luxury to most of us. Specially those who are immigrant workers they need that ticket price as low as possible, which is the main reason USB operates this full economy a literal Air-Bus A330.
@@bardo0007 Thats the reason many immigrant workers don't come home 5-10 years ! Some actually stay there like forever and keep earning for the family until maybe their sons earn enough to take care of the whole family . Their sent dollars are the reason our country Bangladesh got through some hard economic times in this world. Most workers starts from some 300+ dollars but it is better than the salary for that same job in Bangladesh but recently the job market in Middle East is worsening.
4:28 so you telling me Emiratis take US Bangla airlines as their first flight? I don't think so because I see that mostly all of the people are Bangladeshis going back to Bangladesh... But if that is their first flight how did they get to the UAE in the first place? 🤔
Hearing the name US-Bangla Airlines, many might think it is related to the United States, but the meaning behind the name is different. The name US-Bangla Airlines comes from a Bangladeshi business entity called “US-Bangla Group,” which operates in various sectors. Here, “US” does not stand for the “United States.” Instead, “US” refers to “United Symbol of Bangladeshis.” The name symbolizes the unity and pride of Bangladeshis. In essence, the name “US-Bangla” is part of the company’s branding, reflecting both the pride of Bangladesh and the company’s international business aspirations.
Hi Josh! I'm thrilled to see you visiting Bangladesh, my country. Thank you for exploring and sharing your experiences here. Your videos always bring a fresh perspective, and I'm so glad you're uncovering the truth of US-Bangla Airlines. Although they want more profit, but this is extreme. Safe travels and keep up the amazing work!
Well, all thanks to Cebu Pacific (the original operator of the S2-ALA & S2-ALB/ex-RP-C3342 & ex-RP-C3344) that they made them densely because of us (the Filipinos) being short in average.
Interesting to see that they are serving Usna rice( parboiled rice or converted rice). It was used when we were kid but very few people now eat usna rice. Good.
That space in front of your seat is YOURS and not considered a common area on the plane. I usually build a fort with my personal items and put my feet up so people don't pass through (an AC flight attendant once told our whole front row to do that). But good luck with that on this flight 🤣
At least having the galley open for boarding would have made a huge difference. I agree though, the extra legroom in those bulkhead seats is yours, not for everyone to cut through.
@@belcourt2011 What's rude are people walking in front of your seat during the flight. Usually you pay extra for the front row, I'm going to put my feet up, nothing rude at all about using the space I paid for lol.
As a former QR crew, I was blessed with Dhaka many times. Crew used to report sick or try to swap as it's the worst flight one could imagine besides Istanbul. Lavatory was always a nightmare with floor, sink and comode all full of water, poop on floor, in and outside the lavatory, topped up with people getting so excited during landing that everyone suddenly jumps out of their seats peeking through the window and ofcourse you are totally helpless at this sight. I quite literally believe that Bangladeshis love lavatory more than their seats and I can confirm to what you said that everyone uses lavatory atleast twice or thrice and their bladder is still full after landing. Food and drinks were always short and although most are Muslims but they LOVE drinking. Apparently everything other's do is haram except for when they do it themselves. Anyways, it's fun experiencing the world with QR and now through you. So Thank you 🙏
@@afzalrahman Flying from Dhaka, to Dhaka with Indians?.. Yess... For winning this argument, you definitely seem to hold a lot of experience 😊 Taking into consideration if the whole flight is Full of indian on any Indian sector or from Dhaka to anywhere in india. The flying time won't exceed more than 2.5- 3 hrs. With current strict indian aviation rules, one won't get more than 1.5 -2 hrs of freedom to explore lavatories. With an average of 80-85 pax sharing 1 lavatory and considering one will occupy it for 5 mins to say the least, you still won't see 5-10 people standing in queue for lav. It's basic mathematics, you are comparing over 5 hrs of flying time with atleast 4 - 4.30hrs of freedom with 1lav for avg.38-40 pax is nothing more than stupidity
@@afzalrahman Also would like to add there are a lot of things we indian lack or need to learn and if someone highlight that fact, I definitely won't get offended or try contest it with my illogical rationale. Next time when you fly, if you really do watch carefully, watch more!
I can't see any congestions in terms of seating , instead of 2+4+2 configuration, they changed to a 3+3+3 seating and plenty of room is there. I don't mind for the lack of space to walk, because flight is not for walking, you just sit there and reach destination
The business class is also a fucking joke, Biman business class at least has a TV, retractable seats, and more special perks on newer aircraft, while US Bangla's business class is nothing out of the ordinary, just some seats comparable to premium economy with no TV, or retractable seats.
I had a Bangla friend who was a U.S. citizen and Dubai resident. I think he owns this airline, hence the name. He was dealing in scrap metal at the time.
Looks very much like our flight on Air India old B787 to Sydney from New Delhi. People moving up and down the aisle during take off, handing out chapatis and curry to relatives and kid swinging from overhead lockers at end of runway dislodged oxygen mask. It was like something out a carry on film! Not funny at the time, but hysterically funny now looking back on it.
That flight reminds me of Cebu Pacific's Dubai-Manila flight. All economy seats for the Filipino workers employed in the UAE. Both flights have one goal and that is to transport overseas workers from their home country to their country of work. Cheap plane tickets means less expenses for them. Since the airlines need to earn profit, they squeeze as many passengers as they can. The only difference is the conduct of passengers inside the plane due to cultural differences. :)

People like them are working day to night with their sweat and blood. There remittances are the main source of foreign income of Bangladesh. They owe a lot. Unlimited love and respect for them❤️❤️❤️

Dude it doesn't mean US Bangla can take them for a ride. 450 people and take shortcuts on safety.. It's not the workers fault.
There's a great deal of horrible stuff going on in the world at the moment, and this video has increased my faith in humanity just a little (as well as that of the Bangladeshi people of whom I've had the privilege of working with a fair few in my time - can't remember a single unpleasant one!).

Wow, 9 seats abreast, I thought it was an A350.
Never knew there existed an A330 / A340 type fuselage that is more than 8 seats abreast.

@@simongarner2036 I have only seen 767's configured 2-3-2. Those higher density configurations sound like a nightmare for long flights. They can bring their air fares down with such loads.
@@daintree98 Same as 747, 10 abreast. In the 1970's I flew a few times on 747 that was 9 abreast.
Cheers!

How much is the salary? $200 is still a lot of money
@@bardo0007 Thats the reason many immigrant workers don't come home 5-10 years ! Some actually stay there like forever and keep earning for the family until maybe their sons earn enough to take care of the whole family . Most workers starts from some 300+ dollars but it is better than the salary for that same job in Bangladesh but recently the job market in Middle East is worsening.

I do have to tell that all A330s from US Bangla are ex-Cebu Pacific
Very bad name for an airline not gonna lie
yeah but they incorporate US to make it look better aswell. they purposefully find two words with those initials for the effect.

@JohnnyStrides that's rude. If passengers are wrong is not a reason to lose curtesy

Yess... For winning this argument, you definitely seem to hold a lot of experience 😊
Taking into consideration if the whole flight is Full of indian on any Indian sector or from Dhaka to anywhere in india.
