@@Gibbs-rq4yg no. They obviously knew who he was and he had a UA-cam channel. The security personal had screened him beforehand and told all the staff about it, and they made a nice PR move out of it to advertise their product.

@@yitzhakkolb8520 isn’t it scary to work for an airliner who has to secure their fleet all over the world and all it’s personnel because of isreal their evil acts?
In 1973 I was getting on a plane at Lod airport. The security guy looked at my passport and says "I see you visit mostly Eastern European countries. Why is that?" I said I'm studying Slavic languages, particularly Russian literature." The guy, who was my age, switches to Russian and as he's going thru my baggage says "Why don't you tell me a little about the character development of Parfen Rogozhin in Dostoevky's The Idiot." Surprised, I started doing my usual "I'm not prepared for this" analysis of the character development. He finished my luggage and says "OK, you can get on the plane but I suggest you read your Dostoevsky a little more carefully."
😂 that's fabulous! A little frightening, but fabulous!
Lol you got roasted by airport security
Wow you're one old man with great tales to tell!
can't they ever mind their own business?!
Brilliant story!
El Al does a background check on every passenger before the flight, especially on a route like Dubai-TLV, so they knew you were an avgeek with a youtube page and the crew was briefed before the flight to take extra care of you during this flight, and not even question you even though u went to Iran and Irak.
Can my muslim friend also fly with el al without a problem?
@@Skull211 there's Abrir from Pakistan, a very experienced youtuber, who visited Israel without any problems, some delays though.
@@Skull211 Yes
I think too, it looks like he had an VIP Treatment there.
Most Passengers get one Meal with one Drink, this was 4 Meals with 3 Drinks if I counted right.
A bit strange is the red Wine with all Meals.
I'm not someone who know Wine, but as I know its the Rule Dark to Red and Bright to White.
So the Soufflaki and the Steak with red Wine and the two Fish with white Wine.
Also serving another Glass Wine when theres still one, ismaybe a bit much, but maybe they are different ones, like a dry and a sweet Wine.
It's a shame that this is the norm for Jews. If they resolved their problems with the Palestinians then it would immediately open up a different world for them. Not one that is constantly security obsessed.
Back in the mid 80’s I flew from Heathrow to Tel Aviv on El Al ... the security was unbelievable ( not a bad thing ) but , shall I say “ unsettling “ 👍
Due to "extraordinary" nature of El Al, everybody called it as "007 Airline". The only ones that flew with EW-suite and Praetorian security.
That flight attendant had no ring on her left hand and I promise you she wasn't being nice to Josh on accident LOL 🥰
Had the same thought.
She was having a sale like Costco.

An ELAL 707 was hijacked sometime in the late 1960's and the Capt decided to do a part barrel roll by tipping the plane sharply to one side thereby throwing the hijacker(s) off balance and being overpowered by the passengers.
damn, no wonder why israelis are called brave
@@gamingking1314 These Israeli occupiers, child killers, are the cowardest people around the world, and this has many evidences, and the liberation of Palestine is inevitably coming 🇸🇦🇵🇸
really, the only thing I can find was a stunt where they rolled a 707 on purpose
It was in 1970 , EL AL flight 219 from TLV to NY. The pilot name is Uri Bar-Lev an IAF combat pilot. He made a nose dive (negative G) just before synchronizing he action with the onboard security. The outcome: one down and one apprehended Terrorists.

Enjoyed this video! I wish airlines in the USA could go back to this beautiful level of service. It’s inspiring to see flight attendants friendly, engaged and Smiling! Used to be that way here before 2002. 🙏
That's because youre not Arab. El al is the most racist airline. They're absolutely horrendous.
@@poorwotanthe American version of Emirates.
As a frequent flyer to and from Israel, I find El Al to offer the best staff service. Though the amenities may not be as nice as some of the others, I always feel at peace during the flight. There is something very nice about the flight when all the passengers are happy with the service, the feelings are somewhat contagious. I tried just about every airline there is to offer in and out of Israel, El Al is my go to every time now.
@stephenunterberg3222 how many years have you been working for El-AL ?
Free Palestine my man alright
One of the best flight attendants I’ve seen! Clearly loves her job and has a passion to make her passengers onboard leave with a great experience
She was on stage and putting on her best show for the camera!!! THEY KNEW he was reviewing and would post it!
Yeah one of the best flight attendants towards Josh and Josh only ! Didn't see her treating the family next to him or next to them the same way she treated Josh ! Besides she was being a try hard
So obviously they called you to review the flight most passengers travel in economy so you just having fun getting views
She wanted josh c**& that's all folks lol 😆
One thing I would add - she kept on touching her hair and then serving food and drink
As an ex flight attendant the FA on this flight was amazing! She’s very warm lovely. Impeccable on board service 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Do u know how to apply to this airline?
Moin!
Very lovely and classy flight attendant there! 😍Really can understand why you have enjoyed the flight.
Cheers & keep up the good work! 👍
When I flew in the U.S. we could also carry guns and a lot of us do. It’s a post 9/11 thing. What infuriates me are the disgusting people who try to blind us with lasers. The FAA has at least taken measures to try and prosecute these losers to the fullest extent of the law. We spend a lot of time and sweat to become pilots and for someone to try and take our passion away and endanger passengers is just unconscionable.
How common is the lasering of pilots?
@@Son.of.Saturn Pretty common. The FAA a few years ago increased penalties, because it was simply happening too much.
@@nbntelevision1 Oh wow, didn't realize this. So it's the green lasers right? AFAIK the only laser that blinds you. But why tho?
Why on earth would guns be allowed on a plane??

The service was tremendous, looks like you were super looked after and the cabin crew's demeanour seemed very welcoming, certainly did a good job representing EL AL that's for sure.
We were travelling once with 3 kids (2 lap babies) and the flight attendant gave us a seat for one of the lap babies as well as a large water bottle (1 liter) to my wife who was nursing. Really family friendly airline.
Well yes they have to be. A lot of orthodox Jewish families with 5+ kids using the airline. If they’re rude to families they’re pushing away their biggest customers.

As Arvazir said below: " I am 100% sure you have fantastic parents/family." Amen. Thank you for sharing these experiences with people like me. Please continue to do this.
This was SO GOOD to watch! ❤️ The crew feed you like loving grandmothers - short of giving you pocket money! 😂 I look forward to my experience on the EL AL 😁
Best comment, thank you for the laugh. Made me think of my lovely grandmother, "eat eat Marko, you too skinny!", as she slipped me a note, even though I was well into my 30's 😆
Thank you Josh for sharing your EL AL flight. Just shows - the goodwill you experienced I felt too in Cape Town SA ❣️
I was an IT guy for Pan Am Airways back in the late 70s and early 80s. Your comment really brought back memories for me. There really is nothing like the camaraderie that one develops with your co-workers in the airline industry.
True! Share some Pan Am stories when you come to Dubai!
Josh, as a Flight Attendant, I agree that aviation and travel are ingredients to peace among people. I've met so many from around the world and have learned we have more in common then political agendas...family,love,pain, joy,etc....we experience all of what life offers regardless of borders, creeds, religions, and politics...we are all human. As for El Al....they have never been on my mind as a choice of air travel but, they are now because of your honest video and stamp of approval. Someday, I look foward to visiting Israel and flying their flag carrier!
Well said brother.
To quote Mark Twain : " Travel is fatal for Prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome views of men ( and women) cannot acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth one’s whole lifetime"..
Since when is it a pick up or dating site..?
yeah ,.but Zionism was created 100 years ago and has no humanity ...
El AL is my favorite airline! I flew with them because I like they service and they serve delicious food in economy class. Security checks don't bother me at all because I know why Israel has to have to have them. They're the best in the world in how they can spot anything suspicious. Crew is always polite and friendly and very customer oriented.
Josh!! I saw your vlog for the first time... did really enjoyed. I fully support you for feelings regarding bridging the people and share happiness regardless of their believe, background or petty differences....
It's too much of haterade and egos... it's time to share love and peace.... I am from Pakistan and I live in Dubai with my family and frequently travel around the world... my experience with jews or Israelis is always "cool", they're nice, welcoming and just like us, it's media, the governments and politicians those who divide us otherwise we're all same humans. I might visit with my wife and kids to Israel and would love to see hospitality of our Israelis friends in coming days so that I can tell my friends and my countrymen that it's high time... let's sit together and enjoy this life...
Beautifully said :)
As a Muslim from Morocco I had no problem. I was there for a political tour. It's obvious why they need that much security. Beautiful and welcoming country.

So were all my trips flying EL AL. Is security nosy? That’s why EL AL is the safest airline.
Years ago when I was in the military a couple of us went to Norway to give instruction for the winter Olympics armed with a couple of large camera box's with inert items, the Capt came off to view them as the EL AL flight and their own security machines were next to us....as the box went through the couple watching the screen immediately stopped having seen something suspious tell you not one of the 6 security missed that item and it was small, would fly with them anytime

Looking forward to visiting Israel in the near future. Will fly El Al. I have Jewish roots and want to visit the Holy Land. Thank you. Shalom.🇺🇸❤

Sometimes I feel that your experiences with the various airlines may not be what an average passenger would experience just because they know you are a reviewer, so they will go the extra mile to please you, but at least that is an indication that they care. By sharp contrast, when you have a bad experience on an airline even though they know you are a reviewer, then that is an indication that we should avoid that airline by all means necessary lol
Excellent review, Josh. That was very entertaining to watch, especially that female flight attendant. I was very jealous :)
Fact is, I don't announce myself to the airlines. But yeah some figure it out somehow or crew happens to be subscribed to my channel, but even that case, kudos to the airline for doing their homework cuz some airlines, don't give a damn.
He’s definitely better than a certain other reviewer who definitely tells the airline he’s coming lmao
The minute the crew sees his cameras and the dialogue, they know it's a review and start acting better. Josh would have to go completely undercover with hidden camera, fake name and disguise to get an impartial review.
Indeed.. maybe his camera was toooooo stand out and that makes the crew realised🤭🤭
Let’s all start carrying an elegant camera that stands out, and we all will get extra hospitality. Hahahaha
A friend of mine worked airport security in the 1980s at Manchester Airport. He told me there were only two airlines that tallied baggage checked in with the actual passenger boarding list. That is, ensuring no-one could check in a bag, presumably with a bomb inside, and then not board the flight. Those two airlines were American and El Al. Even back in the 1980s, security was paramount for El Al.
Back to ‘48.
It's almost like Israeli government functions like a fascist ethnostate or something?
@@MAWSMAST - Clever of them.
Air India now makes you identify your checked bags beside the aircraft on sensitive sectors!
We've dealt with the jihadis since before 1948!!
Today all airlines do that.
The air hostess was hospitable and excellent. Something I didn't experience on the purportedly world's best airline Qatar airways.
Very nice video. The crew of this flight were fantastic. No wonder the food offered was excellent, Israeli cuisine is one of the best in the world IMO (definitely my favourite). Top service flight, it looked worth the ticket price. Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope I will have a chance to fly El Al at least once in my life.
Interesting observation you made about the anti-missile measures installed on the plane. The need for this arose about 20 years ago, when a jetliner of another Israeli carrier (Arkia) was targeted by two SA7 Strela missiles while taking off from Mombasa, Kenya by Al Qaeda terrorists. Luckily the missiles missed their target, but since then the lesson was learned and the planes were armed with this system.
It probably adds to this the fact that with the new routes to Middle Eastern countries such as the UAE. Their routes will take them over places which literally want to genocide their entire people, countries whos leaders say as much on twitter in the open. Flying into the middle east for El Al is probably a huge security challenge in and of itself.
Wonderful to see cabin crew that truly seem to enjoy their job and are such great ambassadors for their employer. No matter how disappointing the hard product may be, the crew can play a big part making up for that. A very happy video, made for a great start of my weekend….! About 20 years ago, my mother flew El Al from London to Israel. She was a wine buyer at the time. She remembers that El Al had no trouble with her carrying her corkscrew onto the plane. When she flew from the states to London, TSA had confiscated it from her and sent it through baggage. She asked El Al's security person why it was allowed. She says they told her their security check showed her to be a wine buyer and that she had held that job since retiring from being a school teacher 12 years earlier. They did not think that a wine buyer carrying a corkscrew was anything that threatened security. So El Al might have the toughest security, but they are, also, realists.
I could not discern the name of the wine he had for his second glass inbound. My transcription service was unable to hear and, therefore, print out the name. Can someone help me with that? It sounded like it started with a 'B' sound....

In my El Al interview (back in the 747 times) I was asked when I had arrived in Boston (our departure airport).

"Where in Boston did you stay?" they inquired.
"An apartment very near here," I replied (it had been an Airbnb, although I failed to mention that.)
"And whose apartment was it?"
"Um. . .Tom's!" I answered, relieved that I was able to recall the Host's name, given how nervous I was by then.

A friend of mine, a tall blonde German gentleman, was interrogated for an hour because he visited egypt before. Instead of his designated seat, he was then seated elsewhere next to a supposed air marshall with no other passengers around. I flew EL AL airline back in 1976 (yes I am that old). It was a very interesting experience. That was a time when highjacking planes was still a thing so I appreciated the extra security. At that time, the flight attendants were all male and we're military veterans. The only thing that I didn't like was the food. We were delayed on the tarmac at JFK for over 3 hours because something happening in Canada and they could not serve us anything except water until we were in the air. It does look like the food has improved. That was a different time (only 18 months after the Yom kippur war) but would I fly EL AL airline again? YES definitely!
My pops was an Air Martial on El-El in the 70's. They didn't fool around back then. Or today.
Well, given the circumstance that conscription is mandatory for all genders in Israel nowdays, you could argue that most attendants still have some military background.
They're still all exmilitarary just not all male.

Concerning the use of lasers in the Palestine area, it's important to prioritize safety as lasers can pose risks to all passengers on board, regardless of their background. Ensuring safety measures, as practiced by airlines like El Al, is crucial. History has shown the need to be cautious, but let's focus on promoting safety for everyone.
The cabin crew were lovely and a credit to the airline. Wish all cabin crew were like this.

El Al is pretty unique as an airline...especially on an unscheduled stop. I was living in Wichita, KS when 9/11 happened, and every aircraft in the US was vectored to the nearest commercial airport that could receive them. Wichita "Intercontinental" (ICT) which was usually populated by a variety of regional puddle-jumpers, domestic 737s, and the occasional 757..... suddenly had a line-up of wide-body jets from far-flung and exotic locales......including an El Al chartered 747, with most of a plane load of exchange students who that thought they were flying direct from Los Angeles to Tel Aviv. The passengers got to spend a week sleeping on Red Cross cots in a High School gymnasium and touring the local sights (such as they were), with most of the flight crew acting as additional volunteer chaperones. Including Old Cowtown Museum, which I was a senior manager at... Trying to explain the Wild West, cattle drives, and cowboys to young people who mostly had never even seen a Western movie and whose English was often shaky turned into a memorable occasion, and the El Al crew were all doing their best to deal with cranky teens who really didn't understand why Americans seemed to be making such a fuss about terrorism....and not letting them go home.
I really enjoyed your flight. I have always been curious about traveling to the Middle East, especially since I have a prosthetic leg. I have wanted to travel for years, but have always been tied down by various details of life. Your videos help to stem some of the wanderlust I fell.
What a gorgeous flight attendant! Not being a reviewer I can say that ElAl service always has been great. The last time I flew into TLV I actually did so on Lufthansa, and there was a perceivable difference in the service attitude, even though that airline also has a high standard. As to the country, Israel always is a great destination. Having been through the 9/11 experience in NYC I appreciate ElAl's commitment to safety above everything very much.
The jews have the loveliest women of all.
possibly the combination of the German Lufthansa and Israel isn't the best

I flew London to Tel Aviv with El Al way back in 1977 (Boeing 720). The security was pretty strict but my then Australian partner was Jewish and he chatted away in Hebrew to the check-in staff. Apparently he vouched for me and there were no problems. Leaving Tel Aviv with Air France (Boeing 747-100) to Bangkok via Teheran (it was in the days of the Shah and friendly relations with Israel) I was taken aside and asked a lot of questions about what I had been doing in Israel. My hand baggage was searched plus a body pat-down. This was before the days of scanning machines etc. I never knew the reason for the scrutiny but the security guy was friendly and it was fairly quick. Strange, considering I was flying Air France and leaving the country, but it is what it is.
The flight attendants know he's a UA-cam personality and are giving him the red carpet treatment to impress his viewers. They're friendly but this is inauthentic.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the flight attendant ply you with food and alcohol... That is what I call A+ service! I recently had a similar service on Emirates and receiving this kind of service truely creates a memorable experience and is what "customer delight" means.
I had such a good giggle in this video Josh!! That flight attendant was OUTSTANING!!!! I actually had tears in my eyes at the service you got in that flight. Israel can be very proud of their carrier. And the mother and daughter behind you!!
Bruh the flights attendent was a try hard ! She was treating other passengers the same way , it's all a marketing scheme !
@@yunusm4208 one can only wonder for how long that type of service will continue.... hopefully they take it on as a standard operating procedure!!!
I thought she was stunning in every way.

Our homeboy looks totally impressed. He's blushing 😅
That's insane that they use lasers to blind the pilot.
I’m a former El Al flight attendant and I truly appreciate all your kind words! I’m glad you emphasized the safety and security aspect which we’re proud of. Fly on El Al to/from New York or Newark and your experience will be very different. Hope you enjoyed my beautiful country!
I flew Newark too Tel Aviv economy with El Al, I ithink I was the only non Jew on the plane indeed all the others seemed too be ultra orthodox. I had at least a half hour chat with a very nice security lady before I boarded, I guess they didn't have much work that day apart froom talking to me. Luckily they let me on.
Another tme I flew out I was sitting on an aisle seat with a nice young lady at the window seat. An ultra orthoodox man was placed between us. Ultra orthodox cannot sit next women who are not family, so he immediately got an upgade to business class. I would have swapped seats with him if he had asked. But I guess we all benefitted from the arrangement more leg space for all of us. Though I did think it was somewhat ungentlemanly of him not to ask for the flight upgrade to the young lady instead of himself.
what u mean fly on el ai to/from new york or newark D: thats where im gonna go for birthright D: i try to be on my best behavior :(
Great report! I was thoroughly interrogated by Israeli security upon departure from Ben Gurion and I was extremely pleased by it. I felt completely safe and secure. The interviewer asked me if I understood why they’re asking all of the questions they did and I said I did. By the way, I overheard the next traveler being interviewed and the questions were not the same as I was asked so it’s a true interrogation, not just someone reading the same questions over and over. I was very impressed.
Bootlicker. You will make this world a worse place with your attitude.
I was doing work on the tarmac of a major airport at the new gates.
One of these rolled up, and everything came to a halt.
No more work.
When you're on the tarmac, you can't be within 500 feet of the plane and there are armed guards OUTSIDE the plane 24/7
Its pretty wild.
Flew on ElAl from FRA to TLV quite often and enjoyed it every time.
Even the questionnaire seems quite unusual in the first place, the flight was nice and I loved the food. And another pro: When flying ElAl into Israel, the immigration contains less questions, as you had been checked prior to the flight already.
👍👍👍👍👍
Not having flown EL Al, I was very impressed and now look forward to flying with them!
I flew with El Al in Feb 2019, HKG - TLV, also on J Class, 787. While I didn't get the VIP treatment like Josh, I knew I was travelling ULTRA safe because the Sky Marshal was located directly behind me. How did I know? a) before the flight took off I saw him walked into the cockpit freely, and b) he stayed up during the entire flight, playing with his smartphone and making notes while the rest of the J Class pax slept 😂
Watching the Iran Air video before this one has made the first video look like Con Air 😂
Haha same here.
Ever since the new management took over ElAl customer service has improved massively.
As a Persian I envy your meal 😊 hope you enjoyed your stay in Israel 🙏

Great video Josh
I entirely agree
Thank you again Josh for a wonderful flight tour. ❤
Very interesting video. And that flight attendant is so great. I once flew in the 90's a domestic flight in Northern-India, from Jammu to Kashmir, where they fought between government troops and insurgents. It was stupid to go there in the first place but I was young and it was my first long back pack trip. We were checked many times and also interrogated, where are we going, why, do we know any people there? In the apron we were checked one more time and we had to identify our luggage before it was loaded in the plane. They took the batteries away from my camera and broke the battery hatch. I also had to take a picture to show that the camera is real.
Great video Josh! I have been asking for this review for quite some time. So glad you had a chance to experience the wonderful hospitality of El Al. Hope you had some time to explore Israel as well.
Excellent video Josh, really enjoyed it. I would definitely fly El Al, looked like a really good experience and have no issue with the security measures.
That was great customer service 😂😂😂 you must have been super full hahahha... It's always so nice to see your videos and adventures.
I'm just planning my trip to that great country of Isreal. I am looking forward to the people, culture, food, weather, and so on.
Enjoy the apartheid and racism.

Thank you Josh, this was the first time I've watched your videos. I enjoyed it very much and look forward to seeing more of your work. You've inspired me to do more traveling.
Same thing happened to me on an AirBerlin flight to Tel Aviv years ago.. I took the upgrade and they showered me with niceties. Not exclusive to EL AL, although I really like the airline and never had any bad experience with them. Cheers
Excellent video- one day I hope to fly with this airline!
Josh, but do you not think that due to their thorough background checks, they identified you a youtuber even before you boarded? Hence the great experience and hospitality. Did the other passengers in Business class experience the same thing - given two meals etc...I travel like you a lot on several airlines (unfortunately on economy mostly) and I can't recall having an experience like that. This year for the first time I flew on Air Astana, and although I agree it is an unrated airline, I compared it to your video and there is a stark difference indeed. Maybe you should do a video where you travel with someone that you know, but is not a reviewer and be in the same class etc and do a comparison of the service they get and you get...just an idea.
In business class everyone gets treated really well. I’ve flown in business class a few times across Australia courtesy of Orica explosives my employer and there really is a difference on how you get treated so well, compared to the cattle class in the back. My last meal was fillet steak, with creamy mashed potatoes, green beans and gravy. All washed down with champagne. Just brilliant🙂
i fly El Al. For the most part, crews are like that with everyone, even in economy (i fly all 3 cabins: economy, premium and business). Very friendly crews regardless of cabin level. The airline motto refers to feeling "at home" and you definitely do. The crews are friendly and very service oriented. And they keep the bathrooms clean even on 15 hour flights, which i appreciate more than anything!!
18:07 being very nice to the camera not the girl !!! (You should try the salmon)!!?
Yes no agenda, very obvious
I fly elal regularly, they are always very friendly and open to special requests. No fake behavior here.
🥱🥱 I fly El AL often and have the same experience. So yeah they probably knew....but me as a nobody also often have to refuse politely more food or drinks and their staff is just lovely. I hope it is not too hard for you to accept El Al knows what service is. See all the experiences of others in this section.
One of the best videos I think you have posted, which included great detailed information about the airlines procedure's which are different to many others. Actually makes me want to fly El AL more. The cabin crew were fantastic and a credit to the Airline they made that flight all the better.
