- It has been close to a decade and a half since Rockstar’s seminal Wild West open world epic Red Dead Redemption launched for PS3 and Xbox 360, and in all the time that has passed since then, though hopes have often been high that it will eventually also come to PC, more frequently, they have been on the floor.
Recently, however, Rockstar announced that the acclaimed game is finally making its way over to PC, after having released for PS4 and Nintendo Switch last August. As such, ahead of Red Dead Redemption’s launch for PC later this month, here, we are going to go over a few key details you should know about it and its expansion, and what PC-specific features they will boast.
For those of you experiencing this masterpiece for the first time, I’m extremely jealous.
I have replayed this game an unhealthy amount.
I am just finishing RDR2 for the first time, I am on chapter 4. I was depressed that I wont get to play the first one and now this is being released just in time. Its as if I ordered it to be done as I finish the prequel.
I have just played RDR2.. is RDR1 better?
I am hoping it runs fine on my low end laptop

Knowing Rockstar they probably didn't want to add games to PC straight away to stop ppl from modding the gane and to actually enjoy it the way it's made.

I’m gonna wait and see. Rockstar fumbled it big with the GTA Trilogy “Definitive Edition” so I’m not gonna get excited unless the reception post-launch is positive
to be fair, they outsourced a terrible company to remake those, rockstar barely had involvement. That's why it was so poor quality. But it is also is down to rockstar for releasing it in such terrible condition
I'm still going to buy it though, 14 years is a long wait, bugs and glitches won't stop me

Pc gamers should be upgrading to ultra wide in droves by now. Best experience by far, and should become the standard

For a person that played rdr2 first , I found that Dutch was criminally under used in the first game . I had a hard time connecting to him because you never really see him that much in the first game compared to rdr2 .
That's why playing the first game beforehand would have been better, it's also a huge downgrade coming from RDR2. I absolutely loved RDR1 but I don't think I would have really enjoyed it that much if I played the second one first.
You have to remember that when they made the first game and wrote the characters they had no real plans of making a second game, they just tried something new like they did with L.A. Noire.
system requirements (both minimum and recommended) are way higher than RDR 2 and GTA 5. Just think about it. I hope my GTX 1050 will survive this 😂
if my laptop without graphic card can run rdr2 at 25 fps, it can run anything

As soon as I saw this as an upcoming release for PC, instant nostalgia kicked in. Played RDR when it first came out.
got the game with an emulator for pc a few weeks back. even tough i will have to replay the story i will just buy the actual game
Well it’s the game that keeps on giving, and I would recommend this game to PC gamers. Since was sweet back in the day on PS 3 , and never gets boring 😴 at all . Than say play the second game too . Since they both great story lines, And game play which never slow you down .

It wasn't released on pc because of it's bad code, it was somehow taped together. I feel they still could really put out game freshly it's same. They somehow managed to put it on PS5 a while ago with problems, pc is even tougher. They baked it enough to barely hold together anymore

This will be an optimization nightmare and the tell tell sign is the fact that it will come with DLSS 3 with Frame Generation for some reason. For a 15 year old game, I just hope this won't be the nightmare that GTA IV PC port was, specially having in mind the fact that it is a PS3 title and it can be expected to suffer from the same issues.

i remember seeing the leaks and being skeptical but finding out they were real made me start screaming haven't played this game since RDR2 came out can't wait too play it on PC and hopefully there is going too be a mod that brings the multiplayer back

There have been few multiplayer mods for games but as far as I see, the code in RDR1 wasn't much flexible so multiplayer wouldn't be easy, least likely
not in many years, if at all. just laziness on rockstar's part once again. 14 years and still coming up with the 'booohh porting is too hawwwd' excuse.
To be honest my first game RDR series was RDR2 so what i expect playing it for the 1st time on my PC ? Will i got emotional feeling like RDR2 ? Tell me guys

For the record the recommended hardware is for 4k 60 there's no way in hell its for anything under that.
They should update RDR 2 for current gen consoles, and for pc to have better dlss and ray tracing

So a game that came out on the PS3/360 14 years ago, needs 8gig of RAM and an RTX 2070 to run? These specs are sus af. I'm smelling bad optimization on the horizion. You don't even need these specs to emulate the game.
