- Given how poorly Red Dead Redemption’s re-release has been handled by Rockstar, it’s safe to presume that a great many players are going to skip its offerings, but then again, from those itching to dive back into its American Frontier setting to those who’re looking to finally experience the game for the first time ever, there will also be many who will indeed be hopping into the Red Dead Redemption port.
If you’re in that group, for you, here, we’ve compiled a few tips and tricks that you should definitely keep in mind while you play through the game. From gameplay fundamentals like fast traveling to a few relatively more advanced tips on things such as hunting, there’s plenty here that’ll prove useful to you on your playthrough.
Number 6: When your horse dies in RDR1 you can buy it back at a general store using the horse deeds.

Pro tip, hunt animals and then sell them at a place where that particular animal is rare to make even twice if not more money. I made sooooo much money from hunting bears at tall trees and then fast travel to Mexico to sell bear parts.
I do find it fun alore wise when I sell Buffalo in Mexico. The money is doubled when at opposite ends of the map
If you buy the horse’s deed you don’t lose the horse forever if killed. Also switching horse deeds every so often is a good way of saving without having to camp and losing hours.
Always sold Buffalo, Grizzly and Beaver pelts in Mexico as can’t get them there and therefore better prices.
The key to quick wealth.
Don't forget to help at the ranch until you get the lasso. You'll get 100 fame when helping the cop, if you lasso the guy he tells you to.

The Buffalo gun an essential as Grizzlies are like tanks!!
With the LeMatt revolver, you can kill a bear or grizzly with less than 6 shots, or a good and old mohawk. Lesser calibers usually give more loot. Shotguns are great if you are caught by surprise and just want to survive. Especially if it's a cougar or bobcat.
That dialogue at the beginning is better written than 99% of all other AAA Games

Recently realized u can holster your weapon with the left bumper/L1, comes in handy if u want to use certain weapons and still walk and run at will.
I wish it would stop auto holstering every 4 seconds.

The cougars, yes. They weren't much trouble until I went looking for the plane glider inventor's red sage. Then I discovered how much cougars love the Fort Mercer area. Fortunately, even though it looked like dying had cost me all of my flowers, they really just changed their place on my provisions list. Great advices here. I didn't realize I needed to upgrade my campsite as an ability. Hell, I hardly set foot in a general store, and didn't even notice the gun stores until I was most of the way through the game. Like almost until Blackwater.
My daughter accidently bought this game last night and cried very hard. Her words exactly were " Daddy says 50 is too much for the cowboy game, now he is gonna be sad" . No refund from PS so I guess im playing this again
That sucks. I figured ps would have refunds for stuff like that. I think steam has a period where you can refund for any reason.
I always get disks for my ps5 though.

By the way. Do 5 of the master hunter challenges for the hunter outfit, wear it, go to tall trees, kill 15 bears, and sell them in the southern part of thr map for max profits. Armadillo, early game. And Escalera post Mexico.
For the cougars part you should’ve added that infamous clip of DarkviperAU yelling “there are cougars on missions?!”

I'm pretty sure when your horse dies you can just equip it again. I'm not too sure though because I only use the War Horse which is a special horse.
I really wish they had told me you can kill off all the Buffalo and you can't get rid of some items you buy, like crappy horses. However I've killed my horses a bunch of times and as long as I have the deed they always respawn. And I love auto aim it's a lil tricky but it still works really well especially when I can't see the NPCs I'm supposed to shoot. I have it on switch and it was worth every penny
Just bought RDR1 for replay since my PS3’s already busted and damn, it’s like playing the game the first time again… couldn’t remember the last time I completed numerous times this masterpiece.
Companies release stuff like this and, if it doesn’t sell well, they ain’t gon make another installment for years
While I do agree, I think what’s actually going on is Rock* is using the cash grab to finish GTA6, so that they don’t have to delay it further. If you look at it this way… it means GTA6 is getting the resources instead of a RDR remake. But also I’m with you, I wanted a remake 😣

That all depends on the seller, some include unused dlc codes and some don't. But buying this game everything is already on disc I'm sure

It's on sale right now 30% off just FYI with my nintendo points that pretty much covered tax I got it for $35. I never got to play RDR when it came out so I don't mind paying $35 for a new experience I'm about an hour in and it's already got its hooks in me.

It was DLC. I checked my Series X just in case, it is a separate download which would explain why you missed it. Heck, not gonna lie, when I first played it on PS3, I totally forgot that you can do challenges to unlock outfits. Wore the default outfit from the beginning til the end.

I wanted to leave a comment saying that T2 and R* are slowly burying R*s name, but it's not even slow. Charging $50 for a lousy port after the whole Definitive edition fiasco is shameful.

Looks 4k definitely 30fps if you have the Xbox one version it’s no different, but still looks rather nice apart from character models look really dated

So on ps5 and XSX it is actually a full 4K, but its 30 fps and has broken animations during some cutscenes. So some cutscenes actually feel broken and stuttery. Overall it’s a decent port but man that 50$ price tag really is a sour spot

I use auto aim on console games. And only play fps games on pc. Battlefield would be impossible on a controller.

@@Punkneverdies-1010 Just keeping tabs on their dice and my own dice. If he says he has three sixes and only has two dice and you don’t have any sixes he’s obviously bluffing. Also easier to just play one person if you can. Also always go for the highest number of same the dice. I made more money from that game than all the card games, five finger and horseshoes put together.

In rdr1 if your horse dies it comes back within 10-minute you can call it again my stats still stay the same

The fact there charging this much is a joke in of itself and the fact a can jsut buy a physical copy for the xbox for a fraction of the price is hilarious and the online side of it is still playable. Oh and the fact this is just a port with NO enhancements what so ever or even any fixes that were an issue originally is just bad and honestly I feel real sorry for those on playstation, switch and pc getting shafted with this poor unfixed,un-updated, overpriced bundle also lacking in the online features is just a joke.

Wasn't for me... I got the GOTY edition for PS3... Undead Nightmare included... for 20 bucks.
Screw re-releases and remasters..remaster... just another way for them to make money off of a game that's well over 10 years old.
