Yes, David's voice has a wonderful rich and powerful timbre and this arrangement is very 'full'. We hear the lyrics in a new way. A message that is less reflective than the original and more urgent -and angry! 'Wake Up' He says. Time to LISTEN! To Act! Together we should be able to change things - for the better. There are a lot of artists ( mostly independant- non-mainstream,like Dimash, and Ren ) coming out now - in very individual ways - but with this same message.
Late to see this, but that distortion you hear in his voice is due to him being sick. Yes, closer to the end the distortion is intentional . But as they say in show business, "the show must go on" and he gave it his all. Love your breakdowns. And yes, I love the set design for the performance. The official video is pretty awesome too, and his voice is much clearer . See you soon
