I am 66 and a couple of years ago, this was my first listen to Disturbed. I then went on to listen to everything I could find by the band, not knowing what to expect. I had never listened to 'metal' music before and I really loved it...the lyrics, the message, the vocals and the very talented Disturbed musicians...especially love the solo guitar section on Stricken...the almost rap like vocals in Stupify and the emotion evoked hearing Hold on to Memories. David has such an interesting life history and seems every bit an honorable man.
This song was actually my first experience with Disturbed. I have become quite a fan of their music. David's voice is so amazing and versatile. Great reaction! ❤❤
I heard this cover in the summer of 23 and immediately realzed there ewas a lot more to see and hear. I was pushing 80 so gave myself a trip to hear them live in PA. I love almost all types of music. BTW the view from the bottom of the Disturbed Well is pretty good
2023, was my first experience listening to Disturbed. (I'm 69). I went on to listen to other "Disturbed" music, and now I'm hooked !!! These guys are AMAZING, especially David Draiman 🤗
David Draiman... one of the very best male vocalists' on the planet imho! Has no trouble going from baritone to tenor to vocal fry and back on a dime! Amazing power and control! Thanks Sohum.
The Sound of Silence was my gateway drug to Disturbed and other hard rock/metal music in 2021. Saw them live in August last year. There's no going back.
The reason David's voice is so powerful is because he no only conveys the emotions he literally makes the audience FEEL the emotion! Only the most powerful of singers can do that. It is truly one of the oldest forms of magic!! 10:17
A few years ago someone made a video, of our wild fires in Eastern Montana, with this Disturbed rendition., playing. I fell in love with this song,& now I know who Disturbed & David Draiman is. ❤❤❤
Thank you for that wonderful critique. You said everything that I thought. I was one of those who came to know Disturbed by this video. Just love it......and them ! 😊
His studio music video has almost hit one billion views. This song was my first introduction to Disturbed, well the music video and I cried throughout it. It's such a powerful piece. Then I went to listen to their normal stuff and loved it too . Especially In to the fire, which as sad as it is , is a very touching emotional piece done extremely well. Then of course down with the sickness. They're just brilliant at either end of spectrum.
David Draiman was a professionally trained Cantor. He was very sick this night. From what I have heard, had a 102° temperature that night. They autotuned two very small pieces of this without his knowledge. He was absolutely furious that they even did THAT much. He prides himself on his raw UNFILTERED voice and did not appreciate it. I saw an interview with him about it. He has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. I also Loved your reaction and you are very easy on the eyes as well. One small piece of advice.....don't stop it so much. ❤️
I Was At That Show, Almost Middle Second Row. That Was My First Time seeing Them Live. Then I got to see Them again in August 2023 in St.Louis. It was even Better!🔥🔥🔥
If it's the first time or the thousandth time you listen to this , it is as incredible and amazing everytime. From the moment he sings YOU in the second line you it pulls you in. Beautiful ❤
I enjoy watching people’s reactions to Sound of Silence by Disturbed! This song was my introduction to Disturbed! They are my new favorite group! My daughter and I were lucky enough to see Breaking Benjamin and Disturbed at a concert a few months ago! My daughter is a super fan of Breaking Benjamin! I am a 56 year old mom who loves David Draimans voice! He commands the stage! Check out Hold on to Memories by Disturbed! New subscriber here!
And...David Draiman was terribly sick for this performance, dragged himself out of his sick bed to do it. And hated the autotone that was used without him knowing it would be done. The music video for this song is a stunning work of art with a great story, totally gorgeous.
Es tan fuerte la Sacudida de conciencia qué produce, que destroza la estupidez humana, y la transforma en humildad. NO SE HA OÍDO NI SENTIDO NADA IGUAL EN ESTE MUNDO
I found this song only about a week ago. I love your reactions, I have seen over 20 or 30 other people playing this and commenting. I just cant get enough by the way I am 79 and still like Cliff Richard and Ed Sheeran. Of course I am from Britain living in Canada
Hey Sohum you actually stealing my sleep tonight - love your videos. If you are a metal guy you should listen to Northlane. I discovered them in 2022. The live show in the 'round house' is awesome. Good sons: Sleepless, Bloodline, Obsidian. Enjoy!
Love this! I recommend you to listen to Dan Vasc. He has over 200 covers on his youtube channe, mostly power metal. Begin with Amazing Grace! Then I suggest My mother told me or Toss a coin to your witcher or… a lot more! He never disappoint!
Sorry, but the original Simon and Garfunkel's original version (and also the one that added guitar, bass and drums shortly thereafter) will always be the "best" version.

It’s truly a masterpiece. I was so impressed
Knowing only a few Disturbed songs from the radio and MTV, it was shocking to hear how beautiful his voice was when I first heard this cover.

Try their Hold on to Memories.
Not metal...again a softer side of them.
Very moving.
(also, p.s. i have that shirt in a purple tone - so comfy, yessss)

U very cute
Terrible rendition!
While everyone has an opinion, you're the first, however, to say that you didn't like this. You're all alone, man.
Even the writer said that this is his song now.
You don’t have good taste😮
Nothing will beat Simon and Garfunkel's -- either the original or with the added instruments.
