As a bearded dragon owner, I feel the need to mention there's a prettyy broad range of intelligence stats for the species, with UA-cam tending to feature the lower end of the spectrum for comedy. I've seen my bearded dragon (who is unusually small) push an empty gallon soap container over to the steps of the bathtub with her face, then scramble onto the soap container, then onto the first step from there, then use her claws and a wet wash cloth to scramble up over the rim of the tub and slide into the basin. She turned out to be very thirsty and knew that the bathtub can be filled with water. She had no idea how to make it PRODUCE the water, but she knew it was a good place to try and find water in the wilderness of my house. That said, it did require a lot of energy because of all the scrambling involved. She also managed to roll up the newspaper on the floor of her tank one time, and managed to prop it against a wall and tried to climb it. That did not work in the slightest because newspaper is way to light to support her weight, but it was a good effort from a bored animal.
I've seen similar things with my snakes (definitely less curious and intelligent than lizards but still smarter than people give them credit for). A sand boa looks stupid as hell until you see it escape an enclosure that is as tall as it is long by balancing on a hide or water dish to reach up to the lid, which it then presses its body against while still only supporting itself by the tail. This maneuver is so powerful I have to stack books on top of an already fairly heavy metal lid. Not to mention they can spring out of the ground, wrap nearly their whole body around a prey item several times the size of its head, and then return underground with their victim in seconds.
TierZoo:"Who knows, maybe by the next major expansion the iguana build will adapt to become one of the most op builds in the entire ocean" Iguanas in the 6900s: * loud step *, *Godzilla theme starts playing *
The gharial and false gharial are both excellent at what they do, and have strong pvp against anything that isn’t something like another croc like a mugger or saltie or an elephant. B+/A- tier for them. Salties and Nile crocs are both S tier, they dominate their meta.
I had an Iguana as a family pet growing up, oddly got along perfectly with dogs and people. She got attacked by a cat one day and lost a chunk off the top of her tail. Normally Iguanas heal from this. Mine? Her tail stopped growing properly and instead grew out from the tail wound, it didn't have scales but was solid enough that a tail slap from her was a two-hit combo. That cat came around again and was unfortunate to experience the two-tail wrath.
When the tail is dropped it will grow back but not as well. It won’t be as flexible or colorful and can grow without scales. Overall lizards want to avoid dropping their tails unless absolutely required since it is so essential and resource intensive to replace
"bites and claws are weak" I guess I've only met the most vicious. Because last time an iguana got a bite or claw in, I was left with a pretty intense bleed status, from just my thumb.
Just a small clarification, I think he meant that after using the 'autotomy' ability, 'tail whip' becomes *temporarily* unusable until the 'caudal regeneration' passive ability has been active for enough time to restore at least two-thirds of the lost portion of tail. Unfortunately, this passive ability can take a long time, uses a lot of xp, and the end result is never as long as the player's originally tail weapon and includes a permanent debuff that reduces the damage, accuracy, and most importantly, range of the 'tail whip' ability. In fact, because the restored tail is shorter, it lacks the whip-like tip of the original tail weapon, and the animation for 'tail whip' after debuff no longer features the move's signature whip-snap. Some players have suggested that the debuffed 'tail whip' should be renamed 'tail bash' or 'tail slap' because of this. Disclaimer: I'm not saying TeirZoo's wrong, I just feel the way he worded it might be misleading for non-lizard players. I think he *must* know about 'caudal regeneration' and the debuffed 'tail whip', because some of the iguana players shown here using 'tail whip' are actually using it with the debuff, which not only comes with a visuably shorter tail weapon, but also the aesthetic status 'melanism' in the restored portion of tail, which in noob language means the regrown part of the tail is entirely black or dark brown. It makes it pretty easy to tell if an iguana player has had to use 'autotomy' during their playthrough.
Not all lizards that engage in autotomy can regrow the tail. I agree that lizards are amazingly successful, but let's remember that not all lizards engage in autotomy, and of the ones that do, not all of them can grow the tail back. Iguanas can regrow it back, so you're not wrong at all, I'm just clarifying. :)
I mean, he's not wrong. Lizards are fun builds to play, but you can't become a truly powerful build until you spec into the neck breathing ability like monitor lizards did. Otherwise, you're left with using the same muscles to run as you use to breathe.
@@coyraig8332 I knew there was a 95% chance that this would be false, and someone would call me out. For clarification I didn't know this but thank you cuz that's comforting to know. Sharks are lit.
Something to consider: iguanas are an invasive species in some locations like Puerto Rico, where they have no natural predators and are thus becoming major pests. They can get anywhere, get pretty big, and eat fruit and plants grown on the islands.
@@alexander-mauricemillamlae4567 Sry, I personally don't like the human build (I got the depression debuff and I committed suicided). Idk why I am trying it again lol. One of my favs is the frog fish, and in general, builds that have a high damaging attack and great stealth. Komodo Dragon is also good.

The videos you make are all really cool! Seriously, every video you make is both educational AND entertaining! I just wanted to say this because I realized how rarely people say it on UA-cam. People usually just go straight to ideas or complaints. I just don’t think people say this kind of stuff enough, and I’ve been guilty of forgetting to do it sometimes too, but keep up the great work!
look up iguana bite wounds. they are very capable of making deep lacerations. look up rock iguana bite wounds in particular. nasty capabilities, and i'm glad that tierzoo finally decided to take another look at lizzies and rank em' up accordingly.
"Recent experience" I was maybe looking for a reference to Florida in this video, when they falling out of trees cause of a sudden temperature drop cause knocked them unconscious
Here is my story : I had an iguana for 12 years and I can tell you they are intelligent, one day he understood how to open the door of his terrarium, and he remember it forever, after 5 minutes back in he was already out again, true story I swear, he pushed his body on the glass and dragged the door again and again, then I bought a bigger terrarium then I completly made a room for him. He could also recognize me and got angry against people he didn't know, I stayed a month at the hospital and he still recognize me when I came back home. But when I tried to put a mirror in front of him he attacked the mirror like an opponent, I made many test with this reptile to check the limits of his intelligence, I was surprised when I understood he prefered red flowers instead of orange ones, in fact my iguana didn't like the orange color and I still don't know why, for exemple he liked sugar red orange fruit but not the original orange fruit. However I don't recommand this animal as pet, it requires too much electricity and cost a lot in winter because he only eats vegetables (my country is cold), it also required loads of attention and a lot of place , I mean "a lot", my iguana reached 1,2m, it was short for an adult but still giant for a room. Also if your iguana is female and alone she can die if they can't release her eggs (tell it to people please), they don't need a male to get eggs but need a special room to release them (like sea turtles). After several days of searching on the old internet I understood that my iguana were actualy a female and despite all efforts she couldn't lay their eggs, so I called a vet, at first he didn't trusted me because my iguana looked like a male (at least 4 "experts" told me it was an male just by looking at her), it was a new kind of pet at that time and only an university of vets could helped me, so I carried the iguana during winter to the medical-university in a box with an hot water bottle to keep her warm, this reptile needs tropical conditions, this is essential (cold blood), then the vet showed her to his students and made a x-ray, I was right and the eggs were already poisoning her, the vet took high risk to open the body of the iguana after anesthesia and removed the eggs, my iguana was saved and university was proud to saved his first iguana, it only cost me 50€ (at least 110 for a cat for the same surgery in 2020) and I'm glad that this trouble helped the new generation of vets to be more qualified to identify this trouble. The iguana recovered well and quickly. Many years after that incident my iguana died of a stroke like an human could, vet tried everything but the brain was dammaged, she died at home, in belgium we can't burry our pets where we want and it wasn't easy to dig a hole in the frozen dirt so I paid for an urn, they said it was their first iguana to get this honor and were very kind with her such as a dog or cat. People understood that a lizard could be a family member too and I thank them. The good news is I kept part of their molts from baby to adult so I can see how tiny she was at start, it helps to remember the feeling of the skins of a lizard, in fact some parts are very soft like satin. RIP Aragorn, a proud and strong lizard :( Optional edit : I would add a fact for the video : Iguanas do know the spinning hell move like crocodiles does, if you catch an iguana he'll start to spin and litterally lacerate your hands with their 20 claws around 0,8cm, the vet also didn't trusted me about it and learned the bad way. They have a very strong body and it's really difficult to block it if you are alone, you first have to block the bottom legs with one hand and press the reptile on your body to avoid the whip and block the front legs with the other hand so he can't bite, that's no so hard to learn, also the whip pain is similare to a real whip, it's heavy and snatch your skin like it was burnt. They can't hide their claws and so they could hurt you just by walking so I used a falconry glove. The bite is rude, enough to make your skin explode and bleeding, once they catch you they won't release it easily. They have a "U" mouth similare to tyranosaurs and also few tiny teeth. So when they put their head up you have to be carefull, and when they start moving their head that's a sign they will attack if you don't move. I confirm cats fear them. They can also climb reversed branchs by jumping and catch it, then they use the whip to help them to rotate on the branch. The only time my iguana fall was when she got her stroke, that's how I understood something bad happened. I confirm that iguana yawn, but they rarely drink water, they put the bottom of the mouth in water and close/open to drink, I've only seen that 3 times in 12 years, they have a tongue similare to us but cut in half at the end (like snake but shorter), they also use the tongue to taste their environment and food very often. They like bath that help them to poop, mine also went to the floor to poop always at the same place, the poop looks like a bird poop, brown shit smelling like dirt (really) with something like an broken chiken egg with it (pee), they release both at the same time once a day. They do not sweat. Also their saliva is sticky to grab leaves. They are active at day and sleep on a branch, after few minutes they can release few legs like us in a bed and look like they enjoy it a lot. They don't show pain but you can see they are suffuring when they have a big pupil at day (like cats). They can stay in the same position for hours, the back skin is tough and you can easily feel their bones below the skin. They also sneeze everyday to release the salt element of their body, that's the main problem to keep the glass clean because dry salt is white. Because of the warm area and vegetables you have to clean it very often, they will only eat fresh food and get lazy if you don't mix it, so you can't feed them with only 1 kind of vegetables, depending of where you live it can cost a lot to get some kind of food at some part of the year. It also requires special lighting to reproduce the sun effect and this type of light must be renew every few month. The ridge on the back isn't dangerous at all, they can easily lean, that's just to impress enemis, the dewlap has a tiny and fragile bone in it, this part is soft, same for the throat, the neck is the strongest part with the head. I've read that baby iguanas have a 3rd eye on the head that seems to disappear when they grew up, the scale just get thicker and you can't see it anymore.
I'm glad to hear u went to so many doctors, until one finally listened and even managed to get the eggs out. Fascinating that Iguana females can have eggs without mating. Thanks for the story, enjoyed it quite a lot!
Ya know Tier Zoo, we still haven’t gotten that analysis of the “House Cat” class you mentioned in your Cats tier list. I keep getting bodied by them and I could really use some help(I’m a mouse main)
Once you are done with your mouse play through I would recommend making the sewer rat your main they are much stronger and could possibly have a better fighting chance against the house cat players that go out of their way to involve themselves in PVP
It's best to invest in intimidation ablities, as killing the house cat could lead to human mass raid, using their high tier equipment, they can destroy you. Scare the cats, don't kill them.
@@fobo3361 that's how PVP works. Sometimes it's not about efficient kill, it's more about brutal kill while humiliating the unfortunate newbie at the same time.
"generally consider lizards to be low tier builds" *Komodo Dragon entered the chat* When will we get an are Monitor Lizards OP video? Or just Komodo Dragons cause they are clearly the best of the living lizards?
I'd argue that depends on how we define "best." The large monitors that successfully compete with large mammal builds on mainland servers (i.e. the water monitors which can rival the komodo in size, white throated monitor and such) are arguably "better" than the komodo who is able to be so successful in its niche because it has no large mammal competitors. Same for the big tegu lizards success on the mainland, as they are basically new world monitor lizards in terms of their niche.
The Predator32 I agree especially because they have a 90-95% kill rate. That’s higher than almost any other predator ever! However they don’t have much competition at all or any natural predator. But they would still be dominant if they moved and adapted to other parts of the world
Monitor lizards were touched on in the lizard video, they're basically lizards that didn't take any gimmicks of the other builds and just focused on higher base stats
Man, I would love to see a video about dragons, such a good DLC. I want to know about all dragon builds (Western dragon, wyvern, amphithere, wyrm, lindwurm, lung dragon (or Asian dragon) and the Drake) Heck, they could even make a team up with the dragon expert and pommel enthusiast: Shadiversity
That one bloke I think that was a boston terrier, which are hyper-tard pugs. Like they power-leveled cuteness and the ability to crap on the floor at the cost of all int, just like chihuahuas but cute.
@@silverfoil8854 I dunno. Dragon Tail is supposed to knock pokémon out of battle, and the iguana doesn't have enough power to do that. I can't think of any weak whacking moves that confuse, though. Those seem to be primarily special attacks.
Not sure if you made this video yet, but it would be cool for you make a tier list of the builds you would like to try out. If you had to abandoned the human build. Ranking them in the same structure as to what you would like to try the most and reasons why. New subscriber but already a huge fan, the combination of video game mechanics mixed with the essence of life is something I have never seen done so enjoyably and fascinating. Keep it up TierZoo.

i gotta say, these pixel animations are fucking incredible and do an amazing job of visualizing an ability in a vacuum, whereas showing in game footage can be sometimes confusing to grasp
Reptiles are generally calm looking, since they move so slowly and deliberately. I think it has something to do with being cold blooded and preserving energy. (Or they're just aliens and their motives are fundamentally inscrutable to out mammal brains.)
I would like to bring to light a special member of the Iguana family: the Basilisk Lizard, and its special ability to run on water for short periods of time. This ability is used as an escape route from predators as well as a rushdown attack on frogs, amphibians, and fish.
Tierzoo covered why this ability is a poor use of evolution points in his previous video on lizards. It temporarily gets you out of the way of land-based predators, but at the expense of being easy pickings for underwater and aerial builds.
@@technicolormischief-maker5683 Actually this ability works well at avoiding aerial builds and their tails that make up nearly 75% of their body length allows them to be adept swimmers. The Basilisk lizard can also use the run ability on land.
@mku ss Sacrificing one problem for another, bigger problem is far from an effective strategy, and one that leaves you low on stamina at that. We could argue over whether you’re better off after the fact but the point remains that you could be spending those evolution points on something that could actually solve that problem. Something like a nauseous or blinding spray, for example.
Hello Tierzoo! loving your videos , tiers list are my favorite. Can you please do a Tier list for ants? since there are lots types of ants. we all know ants are pretty successful but a tier list for ants would be great because several ants fight against each others in colonies.

Hey TierZoo, i’ve been thinking. There are a lot of diverse and unique lizards in this world and i think that one specific lizard is so bizarre, yet very unique. That lizard is called the giant horned lizard. It’s is pretty versatile in a variety of ways such as having a good metabolism, having rough skin, and lastly, having the most alien like ability, the blood shot ability. All in all, i think a video about this lizard would be very interesting
You should take a glance at the monitor lizard build sometime. Surprisingly high intelligence for a lizard, and very effective against the right opponents.

I heard they were considering making the Lizardman cryptid build more widely playable. He's probably a mod or a Dev testing out how well they could do in the Human meta.
Something I've found is that he always has something other than money in return for sponsoring people. For instance, footage from CuriosityStream or just skills from Skillshare. Therefore, I don't think he'll ever get a Raid sponsor since they don't seem like the type to actually give back to helpers.
Luckily as a rather large education channel he has access to really good sponsors like CuriosityStream and Skillshare. Not all youtubers necessarily have access to sponsors like that (hence all the Raid shit)
You should discuss the overlapping meta game in the Everglades server. I’m going to be going there to evaluate the current meta with all its new players soon, so it’d be cool to see which builds are top tier in an area that a lot of builds from other servers :D
Brian CP noice 👍 I’ll be down their to broadcast how the meta looks atm, but I’m not gonna be ending any players play throughs, instead they’ll be used to teach other players about the different builds that are entering the server
The human's greatest semi-cryptid build: The Florida Man/Woman. Green iguanas were introduced to Florida and a string of mild winters have allowed their populations to explode. Cats, similarly introduced by humans, are highly successful in the same urban to semiurban settings and so when you have a ton of builds in the same area of course they're going to interact and the Florida Man/Woman is notorious for filming anything regardless of their safety or the safety of their support characters.

@@ADAJ342 but on the flipside we can regenerate from from cuts and bruises pretty darn quick

RIP Aragorn, a proud and strong lizard :(
Optional edit : I would add a fact for the video : Iguanas do know the spinning hell move like crocodiles does, if you catch an iguana he'll start to spin and litterally lacerate your hands with their 20 claws around 0,8cm, the vet also didn't trusted me about it and learned the bad way.

"generally consider lizards to be low tier builds"
*Komodo Dragon entered the chat*
When will we get an are Monitor Lizards OP video?
But they would still be dominant if they moved and adapted to other parts of the world
Komodo dragon always use bite and inject it's Saliva rarely use it's tail
komodo > crocs or gators?
Monitor lizards were touched on in the lizard video, they're basically lizards that didn't take any gimmicks of the other builds and just focused on higher base stats

I would like to bring to light a special member of the Iguana family: the Basilisk Lizard, and its special ability to run on water for short periods of time. This ability is used as an escape route from predators as well as a rushdown attack on frogs, amphibians, and fish.
Disappointingly, though, they don't have a one-hit-KO Glare attack.

I’m one of your subs and I can’t wait! I hope you find some pythons and American crocodiles!
Life's Wild Adventures fancy seeing you here! Clearly you have god taste in videos.
I hear tegu mains are playing that server now
Man I love when you focus on a specific build, but my question is, who's been recording such a high number of cat-iguana interactions, and why?
iguanas and feral cats are common in some human cities, so they have a high chance of encountering each other.
So, I checked, and unless I am missing something, you haven't covered parasites in any of your videos. I, and many others I'm sure, would find a video on them fascinating. I have long held a fascination with parasites, a fascination that is fueled by my fear of them. I know there are many varieties of parasites and parasitism, but that is also what you are good at; breaking subject matter down in an easy, fun, and understandable manner. Please consider covering parasites and parasitism in general in one of your videos.
I have really enjoyed your content, since discovering your channel. You are witty, intelligent, and funny. Thanks for being such a cool human.
The tailwhip footage is my favorite thing on youtube.
