I need your advice. I have raccoons that constantly get into our garbage cans on garbage day. Being someone with 99 laziness, I always want to put our cans out at night because I don't believe in mornings. This is problematic because during the night the raccoons come out and raid the trash, but they are just out of range from my melee hits. Even if I do a delayed vengeance rush, they typically tele tab before I get to the trashcan. To make matters worse, the wall they are near counts as a full wall so ranged and magic attacks don't go over it. I can't teleblock them in a timely manner because of this, and they always have the advantage from their viewpoint. What can be done?
You may need to use traps to counter the racoon's stealth ability, but you could also enlist a canine support player to your party and station them near the wall during night time.
There are some builds that take advantage of laziness. Putting more investment in digestive abilities can combo with laziness. You don't want to move anywhere but it doesn't matter because you are able to digest anything in sight.
Collect some Urine (Doesn't matter where it comes from) load it into a Super Soaker ( A brand of water spray gun) and simply fire a few shots at them every night or so, they'll eventually stop coming around.

SupaSavage Gamer IDK, man. I love my secretary bird. it might be outclassed in maneuverability and intelligence, but i have you beat in hp, defense, and power. both of us are good counters to each other's moderate stealth abilities, so that wouldn't be a primary factor unless it's at night, but we're both diurnal. Because of your high mobility and large clan size and my threatening kick attack, it would come down to an intimidation/area control game. It would definitely be a tough matchup for us both. 5-7 crows vs 2 secretary birds: reward: 100 acres of savanna.
My friend, we aren't going to battle. Ratings aren't determined on your fighting, rather your ability to survive. The crows are better ranked for that. Besides, we have no business taking over anything. That's what the human builds we capitalize on are for ;D
Humans can choose any of these with tools. Grappling is one of their underrated playstyles, and oft times confused with many of their martial arts grapple/rushdown hybrid setups. A classic example of grappling other races is fishing. They hunt fish by grappling them with bait on a fishing rod at range then lifting them out of the water to kill them with suffocation damage. Humans have many tools for spacing and rushdown, as well. The spear is a great spacing tool, while swords, daggers, hammers or axes would be used religiously in rushdown combat. As human-crafted weapons, there's no denying their effectiveness against even the sturdiest builds. Human projectile setups, though, are certainly the most evolved playstyle the humans have right now. At first it was just throwing rocks and spears at their enemy which was fair enough, then they conceived bows, which suddenly gave them a reliable OHKO option from range greater than 20 meters, which to the community was heresy at the time. Even so, here we are today. They've grown so intelligent that they literally created their own biome and have weapons that can fire a hundred of those OHKO projectiles in not even a second, and over much longer range. *How did it come to this? The only way to oppose them is to evolve to gain their intelligence, but they won't even let us do that.*
Humans tend to be incredibly good at griefing other builds and their biomes to the point where they don't even notice they're doing it anymore. Because of this, even if humans did stop doing this and allowed for other builds to evolve to rival them, the recovery in the spawn rate of many builds would take incredibly long to recover. Not only that, but it's not like humans will allow for this because it would require them to find a new means of living that isn't sheerly built on fast crafting, which may take a while for humans to collectively pitch intelligence stats as a large group effort to become less inefficient in allocating resources.
While humans certainly improved their grappling with technique traits and rushdown with equipment, I'd still say a human trying to contest other classes with those strategies will find they're not viable. Humans only see success with them in pvp with their own clan, except with nets and fishing hooks, and even then it sees limited use against anything that outweighs them. Humans would do well to continue their projectile game, it's by far the best strategy for them. Even spacing is old news these days.
Well, technically, humans can use all of them, but there are severe differences in effectiveness. They are obviously specialised for the projectile build, being the class with the highest attack range in the game by far, even when they don't have technology around to exaggerate this advantage. On the other hand, due to lack of fur, scales or any other defensive measure, they are extremely vulnerable in close melee, which both rushdown and grappling rely on. If ever forced into melee combat, humans will almost always opt for spacing techniques, using any tool they can - be it a stick or a sword - to create a buffer zone and prevent the opponent from getting into range, thus making up for their lack in defence. Almost never and only if they are certain they will win (or if they are out of options) will a human player ever voluntarily enter a grappling match with anything other than another human.
Sam Bradley There’s a growing faction in the human guild that is trying to promote fair play, partly to make it more fair and partly to avoid a possible dev update that creates a global nerf like the KT or Great Dying patches did. Heck, there have been major efforts going for just the last half dozen full human playthroughs or so.
So to sum it all up, the four styles of fighting comes down to: Grappling: hand to hand Spacing: spear, halberd, pike, warhammer, rapier (emphasis on thrusts) Rushdown: sword, dagger, rapier (emphasis on cuts) Projectile: archery, guns
I think it's better as this (in the context of warfare, instead of duels): Grappling: anti-pike infantry (halberds, great swords, gladius...) Spacing: pikemen / anti-cavalry (pikes, great swords, halberds, warhammer...) Rushdown: cavalry (sabre, lance, dane axe if used on foot...) Projectile: missile units (archers, crossbow users...)
I believe you have made a small mistake. Only players that chose the “Human” class have the intelligence stats high enough to understand the video. I recommend putting this on the game’s wiki with simple speech so that players that have not chosen a class may understand.
depends on equipment and their choice/situtionthey have special prjective weapons that deal massive damage they can grab light weight classes they can use special spacing weapons or use powerful "fist upgrades" fr rushdown
Humans literally went for a distance runner build that could climb, and then dicovered their ability to climb also allowed them to take full advantage of the physics system.
I dont get how anyone could dislike a high effort, original, and informational video like this. Some people just hate their own lives so much i guess...
Fantastic job as always! You’re one of my all-notifications channels because I love what you do. Keep it up! For your suggestion box: a similar video to this about methods of resource gathering would be a delight.
Yea but there are only some builds that really do that like birds and beavers with there nests but that is just a basic use of that topic The only class that really abuses that are the the smart builds like humans
Berthold Klobe But he could go into classes that typically aren't associated with farming, like ants, and point out how to farm successfully, like how ants farm aphids
Doctor Rainbow I think farming would definitely feature. I’m curious also about resources used for building and courtship and camouflage and all that. Also thinking about secondary resources; Humans, Wasps, and Birtch trees all spec into paper-making. I also like thinking about the weird collectors, like diving iguanas; a novel build!
I'm pretty sure the term comes from a human-only mini-game called "Fire Emblem", and so weapons triangle is now the generic term for some sort of rock-paper-scissors system.
My favorite hybrid build is the elephant. They can switch between tank, spacing, and grappling anytime they want and while the playerbase needs to do some labbing, they've also shown the potential for projectile attacks as well. Such a versatile class.
When will we get the Space Update? There have been tons of theories for new classes that all are believed to be coming in the update. The devs even teased for several new versions of Outside where all the classes are slightly or completely changed in the space update. I also hope the Andromeda DLC doesn't disappoint.
It already has come out since the beginning. Space is some prototype versions of the game that has been released as an easter egg for those intelligent wnough to know about it. It has been in the game files for billions of years and is still getting updates daily. The updates aren't made by the devs tho. It's by an AI.
Mango it’s already out, but it’s impossible to reach the area without investing heavily into intelligence, and even then it’s not guaranteed that you’ll reach the area.
I think you should put the human class at the top of projectile users. Normally I wouldn't say this, but recently they've been putting a lot of XP into the technology perk and it's proven very effective for them. Though I do think if they continue spilling XP into this perk then they'll eventually cancel themselves out, which would completely change the meta for everyone outside the deep sea and arctic servers.
@@greengriffin3508 well, I think humans will ban themselves, I dont think the dev's CAN anymore. The main way the dev's ban things is by bringing in meteors but humans have developing such an OP playstyle, they can build the "rocket" inorder to blow the meteor off course
The other day I ran into a grasshopper with high stealth. I couldn’t find him which meant I couldn’t sleep because it kept saying *[You cannot rest now, an enemy is nearby]*
Thanks, I think I'm gonna choose a spacer next life. I've mainly been using rushdowns because I like the adrenaline perk since it adds to the game so much. Once again, thanks for the information!
Amethyst Enterprises I think it goes like this: when you pick an animal your soul is in that animal when you die you can rest in piece or put your soul in another animal hence respawning soul = selector for characters
Lemme make this clear, TierZoo, I admire how you turned the already fun animal informational videos into even funnier and more entertaining videos that will teach us about the meta!
The episode wasn’t sponsored by brilliant this episode IS brilliant also the triceratops didn’t attack with its horns you should do a vid on myths in the meta like that one so new players don’t get confused
The theoretical framework is as such: Proactive Control beats Reactive Control Reactive Control beats Proactive Damage Proactive Damage beats Reactive Damage Reactive Damage beats Proactive Control Where: Proactive Control (Grapplers - Bruisers/Interuptors[Diving Tanks,Opportunistic Supports]) Reactive Control (Spacing - Tanks[Not the divers]/Supports[Protective Supports]) Proactive Damage (Rushdown -Fighters/Assassins) Reactive Damage (Projectile - Marksmen/Artillery[Damage Mages,Area-deny mages]) To clarify: Control/Damage: While both generally want to hurt the opponent, whether they want to do it to kill it or just to scare it away or to escape is irrelevant the distinction is so: Control tries to gain and maintain an advantageous position before committing to deal damage. Damage immediately commits to dealing damage in order to overwhelm or surprise. Proactive/Reactive: Hunters tend to be more proactive and prey more reactive, but that is not always the case: Proactive means opportunistic, trying to find an opening on which to strike first, to make use of a mistake or "bait out" a move to exploit a weakness. Reactive means more defensively keeping the enemy at bay or attempting to lure the enemy into an attack to punish or trying to prolong the fight and win by attrition.
I do enjoy the mix of live animal footage and cgi dinosaurs. It really spices things up, and gives your videos more variety and context in other topics.
Human is truly a uniquely weird class; and because the meta has evolved so much since it was introduced, Human can effectively use "craft items" to serve the function of every class or multi-class. Wonder if the devs will patch it. I personally like the variety in play style and think the weak defense and stealth is a pretty fair way to balance it.
While having many options, most humans opt for a projectile playstyle due to the relative safety it provides, the generally lower cost of resources required for equal effectiveness at higher end, and the ease of use. (though at lower end all methods are used depending on situation, at higher end projectiles are predominantly the main form of combat)
I have an idea for the game when you make it: There will be an "Intimidation" Stat that can be upgraded and depending on the level of it your level will be shown differently to others, like at 0 intimidation you could be level 10 but look like your level 6, making a good trickster technique, and also have a high stat for you to look level 40 rather then 10, to keep enemy's from attacking because they are level 15 and scared.
I find it super interesting that hawks and eagles are grapple based bird builds while the falcon (prime example the Peregrine falcon) is a rushdown build who prefers divebombing their prey before going in with the kill with their beaks that is equipped with a special protrusion called the "Tomial tooth" that does strong pierce and tear damage.
Yo tierzoo, Love the content. I got a suggestion for you, try making a video about the most notable builds in a country (or a region smaller than a continent). Newcomers to the game would greatly benefit from knowing how top builds from two countries end up comparing to each other when they cross into one anothers' home-field, or just knowing how build X can work better in one country/region and worse or not at all in another. Cheers.
Great thing about human builds is that they are all 4 of these combat types and can put their skill points into being more proficient at one or more of the styles, such as human players that compete in the UFC guild and various Army Guilds
Humans have decent stats in grappling and rushdown but the biggest strengths are definitely in the spacing and projectile styles. You wouldn't want to go head on with a grappler main such as a crocodile, or against rushdown main like a gorilla. Better to use spear class items to compensate for lower HP and defense stats.
Eh, they can multiclass into grappling and rushdown to a limited extent but their pitiful armor class makes them pretty ineffective against anything besides very small prey and fellow human players that are similarly equipped. The gear crafting system works best at enhancing their capabilities with spacing and projectile combat styles, which helps make their deficiency in defense less of a factor.
Mixedpotatoes, I would like to call your attention to the legendary human player "$+3v3_1rw1n", who would grapple crocodiles on a regular basis. His capture encounters were the epitome of crocodile and alligator trolling, earning the nickname of "Crocodile Hunter", but in reality was used to charitably relocate newbs of all builds into areas where humans wouldn't grief them. He was practically a hand of the admin to do so. Those who watched his Twitch account miss him dearly after his fateful encounter with a stingray.
Just wanted to say that I really appreciate your vids and as a kid I was almost daily in the zoo and looked at the builds there but lost track of it. You brought me right back in the Meta and I can almost feel my old excitement rise. Keep it up :)
For me projectile sounds the most interesting and fun, but spacing would never get old and be a optimal and easier to use combat technique. Both sound awesome!

There’s a growing faction in the human guild that is trying to promote fair play, partly to make it more fair and partly to avoid a possible dev update that creates a global nerf like the KT or Great Dying patches did.
Heck, there have been major efforts going for just the last half dozen full human playthroughs or so.
Grappler = Fighter (Close Range)
Spacing = Fighter (Mid Range)
Rush Down = Assassin
Projectile = Marksman/Mage
I reckon spacer should be tank or bruiser
@@lemonface2938 Tank is someone who takes damage for strategy, not inflicting damage. These classes were for attack types
Tanks have high HP and Defense stats, something that most spacer don't have like deers and secretary birds
@@dreiacosta true
Assassin is literally projectile
i love how TierZoo doesn’t actually explain “the game”. It makes the series feel so much more authentic
That's because if you explain the game you lose it. You just lost the game.
phantomspaceman+ Classic.
Apparently the game is called "Outside". He says it in the first sentence of the video
It isn't on Steam yet, no wonder we haven't heard about it.
So to sum it all up, the four styles of fighting comes down to:
Grappling: hand to hand
Spacing: spear, halberd, pike, warhammer, rapier (emphasis on thrusts)
Rushdown: sword, dagger, rapier (emphasis on cuts)
Projectile: archery, guns
...
Projectile: archery, guns, *ICBM*
I think it's better as this (in the context of warfare, instead of duels):
Grappling: anti-pike infantry (halberds, great swords, gladius...)
Spacing: pikemen / anti-cavalry (pikes, great swords, halberds, warhammer...)
Rushdown: cavalry (sabre, lance, dane axe if used on foot...)
Projectile: missile units (archers, crossbow users...)
this is why Hbox loves secretary birds.
Aivorys I thought he'd prefer *bairs*
Aecito if hungrybox was lost in a jungle which bair would win?
Aivorys I mean, could always roll fox
Harpy Eagle has the best Aerial combat, but the Jungle isn't Hbox's preferred server. I'm sure he'd main the JigglyPufferfish in the aquatic servers.
I believe you have made a small mistake. Only players that chose the “Human” class have the intelligence stats high enough to understand the video.
I recommend putting this on the game’s wiki with simple speech so that players that have not chosen a class may understand.
Birbs do.
don't worry, i'm pretty sure the undefined stats you're set to in the Nonexistence lobby function as infinite stats
Which category would a human build fit into?
depends on equipment and their choice/situtionthey have special prjective weapons that deal massive damage they can grab light weight classes they can use special spacing weapons or use powerful "fist upgrades" fr rushdown
Consider this an unlockable for maxing your intelligence.

Humans: HOW about.... ALL!
Humans are just too OP for the game to handle
Humans are do OP that they can attack players on other servers without leaving the one they are on
Lol yes
Projectile.
Humans literally went for a distance runner build that could climb, and then dicovered their ability to climb also allowed them to take full advantage of the physics system.
I dont get how anyone could dislike a high effort, original, and informational video like this. Some people just hate their own lives so much i guess...
Probably n00bs who spec'd into the wrong class and got pwned.
I can just imagine a platypus watching this, getting real angry and passionately thumbing this down.
I disliked the video because of your comment.
They can't handle the meta
I like to think of it as them liking the video so much they flipped their screen around to like it a second time
Fantastic job as always! You’re one of my all-notifications channels because I love what you do. Keep it up!
For your suggestion box: a similar video to this about methods of resource gathering would be a delight.
Bennie Saying Things yeah, farming is a whole different meta from fighting, as some top notch builds avoid the latter entirely
Yea but there are only some builds that really do that like birds and beavers with there nests but that is just a basic use of that topic
The only class that really abuses that are the the smart builds like humans
Berthold Klobe But he could go into classes that typically aren't associated with farming, like ants, and point out how to farm successfully, like how ants farm aphids
Doctor Rainbow I think farming would definitely feature. I’m curious also about resources used for building and courtship and camouflage and all that. Also thinking about secondary resources; Humans, Wasps, and Birtch trees all spec into paper-making. I also like thinking about the weird collectors, like diving iguanas; a novel build!
Love the cover for the Eyewitness intro song. That series was my absolute favorite documentary series growing up.

not sure if that counts as a projectile, it's more of an AOE in practice, they're just also blindingly fast, so they use it and are gone.

Earth having a rock-paper-scissors-esque weapon triangle (or weapon square?? idk) is literally the most genius thing I’ve seen
Max Moroney no matter what shape it is it's usually still called a triangle for some reason
you forgot the lizard and Spock.
I'm pretty sure the term comes from a human-only mini-game called "Fire Emblem", and so weapons triangle is now the generic term for some sort of rock-paper-scissors system.
TunaSammich it's way older than fire emblem. It's been around ever since the wizard/warrior/archer trichotomy has been around at least if not earlier.
Since the backbone of this channel's visuals (and audio) is Runescape, I'd say it comes from the melee

Mango Oh come on, they haven't even discussed anything for the Andromeda DLC yet, wait for some details before starting the rumor mill.
It already has come out since the beginning. Space is some prototype versions of the game that has been released as an easter egg for those intelligent wnough to know about it. It has been in the game files for billions of years and is still getting updates daily. The updates aren't made by the devs tho. It's by an AI.
I believe you had to be in alpha testing.
Mango it’s already out, but it’s impossible to reach the area without investing heavily into intelligence, and even then it’s not guaranteed that you’ll reach the area.
Thanks. Many people have been looking for the space update and humans are now getting intelligence to make stronger rockets.

I agree, the human class might get banned by the devs if they go all out.
I mean, humans have recently unlocked the before only theorized “railgun”, now that’s a ridiculously OP projectile
Even before technology the throw ability of humans when combined with rocks or sticks gives them a superb projectile ability.
Chara: I USE KNIVES =)
@@greengriffin3508 well, I think humans will ban themselves, I dont think the dev's CAN anymore. The main way the dev's ban things is by bringing in meteors but humans have developing such an OP playstyle, they can build the "rocket" inorder to blow the meteor off course

The theoretical framework is as such:
Proactive Control beats Reactive Control
Reactive Control beats Proactive Damage
Proactive Damage beats Reactive Damage
Reactive Damage beats Proactive Control
Where:
Proactive Control (Grapplers - Bruisers/Interuptors[Diving Tanks,Opportunistic Supports])
Reactive Control (Spacing - Tanks[Not the divers]/Supports[Protective Supports])
Proactive Damage (Rushdown -Fighters/Assassins)
Reactive Damage (Projectile - Marksmen/Artillery[Damage Mages,Area-deny mages])
To clarify:
Control/Damage:
While both generally want to hurt the opponent, whether they want to do it to kill it or just to scare it away or to escape is irrelevant the distinction is so:
Control tries to gain and maintain an advantageous position before committing to deal damage.
Damage immediately commits to dealing damage in order to overwhelm or surprise.
Proactive/Reactive:
Hunters tend to be more proactive and prey more reactive, but that is not always the case:
Proactive means opportunistic, trying to find an opening on which to strike first, to make use of a mistake or "bait out" a move to exploit a weakness.
Reactive means more defensively keeping the enemy at bay or attempting to lure the enemy into an attack to punish or trying to prolong the fight and win by attrition.
Nice. This is also a good explanation.
"Builds that use tail weapons have fallen off the meta with the most recent players being in the ice age"

Always a nice runescape theme, this was one of the most enjoyable videos to watch this whole week, you made a man happy, thanks!
YES! I've been waiting for context such as this for so long! It will help all further videos feel to proper and cohesive! Thanks so much!
The variety of options might be what makes human PvP so popular....
And the gear. It's all about the gear.
While having many options, most humans opt for a projectile playstyle due to the relative safety it provides, the generally lower cost of resources required for equal effectiveness at higher end, and the ease of use. (though at lower end all methods are used depending on situation, at higher end projectiles are predominantly the main form of combat)
This channel is so damn awesome and this video is great as always!

Tier Zoo is the one thing that I didn't know I needed it until I knew about it.

Cheers.
That would be so useful as a ant main trying to get to new servers like the other ant classes have
Great thing about human builds is that they are all 4 of these combat types and can put their skill points into being more proficient at one or more of the styles, such as human players that compete in the UFC guild and various Army Guilds
Actually, humans are a projectile build but they can equip into just about any type.
Do you not play fallout that what intelligence does, gives extra skill points for the class to use and humans are maxed out on intelligence.
Mixedpotatoes, I would like to call your attention to the legendary human player
"$+3v3_1rw1n", who would grapple crocodiles on a regular basis.
Would be fun if the dilo from the mesozoic time actually had protectile, those trollers make it seem more fun
