I had a rescue Iguana named Jose. Gave him his best life after nursing him back from the brink of death. He lived 30 years. Jose was the best. Did everything with me. I will forever miss my sweet boy.

People who say reptiles don't have feelings just don't understand them. They may not emote the same way mammals do, but many reptiles are very intelligent and look forward to interactions with their owners.
I love reptiles. They are far more intelligent that most people think. Well socialized, captive bred iguanas are wonderful companion pets. You have done a great job raising yours.
I remember my brother having one that acted like a dog. When my brother woke up she wake up, when he played video games, she would sit and watch him. She would visit my room when my brother wasn't around because she hated being by herself. She was so weird. She loved being petted. ALL of our animals at the end want to be petted, even our chickens and ducks. You can tell a lot about a person by how well they treat nonhuman animals.
What a nice little dinosaur! He acts a lot like my parrots. Has to be in the middle of everything. Iguanas are so neat looking with all those different scales. And he’s even got little green Kermit hands!
