- I've got a feeling if you've started watching this video, you probably already know the answer, because £250 /$300 for a Series S, and about £10 a month for Game Pass, is a bit of a bargain for this amazing experience!

I just got my Xbox S series this week and set it up yesterday, I purchased the game knowing it was available in game pass, but I love owning my games. I did my basic flight training this morning and made my first flight in the Cessna 152, about a 30 minute flight. So to answer the question, yes this is definitely worth it 👍🏻

@D B yes, since then I’ve purchased the T Flight Hotas setup, I honestly don’t like the rudder pedals even though it’s more realistic, I’m just lazy lol 😂, but I’ve moved on to the CRJ, the A320, and the Dreamliner.
I’m doing the exact same thing for my birthday, including buying the game. One question if you don’t mind, I’m totally new to no-disc consoles: do you purchase the game directly on the console or you buy via the computer, get the key and then you download it on the console? Thanks in advance and enjoy the game!!
@@etdbsub0 I bought it directly on the console. Once you purchase it, it will start the download. If your using the series S just make sure you have plenty of disk space for the game, it’s quite large
Thank you, i already have a pc but its shit and a ps4 that i only use for gran turismo. And i have wanted mfs for a long time now but i felt like it would be a waste of money to get a series x just for flight sim, so i am definatly getting the series s now.
I only use my Series S for Flight Simulator where I do the flight of the week after a long week at work. My answer is "yes", it's totally worth getting a Series S

Most definitely a resounding yes from me! I bought the series S after loving the flying and landings in GTA5, MSMS2020 has landing challenges in spades and I'm loving going through them acing them all. The license tests in Gran Turismo had me hooked and in MSFS2020 I can do the same but with flying challenges its great! The game has so much than that too, over the next few months I will be exploring all sorts, ILS, cold dark start ups, VFR v IFR, flight plans, sim brief, its all incredible I love it.
Just brought my Xbox Series S at my Dad, I own a Xbox Series X with 4k LG C1 TV, I was still blown away with the graphic on a 5 year old 1080P TV. I you really wanted to play this game a Xbox Series S with Thrustmaster T-flight is your cheapest option with what seem like very little compromise on the experience and stunning graphic.
Very much enjoyed this video. Especially after buying an xbox series s (and having successfully taken off and landed at Leeds Bradford Airport). £250 well spent.
The answer is YES! lOL I’ve been waiting over 15 months for a top level PC and they can’t get the parts, so I bought this on my Xbox series x! It’s brilliant…don’t hesitate!

I bought an Xbox S just for Microsoft flight sim, and YES it’s worth every penny 👍
I bought an Xbox Series S for this very reason. The choice was to either buy an Xbox for £249 or replace my perfectly adequate pc for one with an expensive graphics card, a fast processor plus lots of ram. Even if you factor in an expansion card for the Xbox, the cost is much less than even a low end graphics card capable of running FS on a pc.
Get the biggest memory stick you can off Amazon and stick it into the back port, A youtuber, Zeroblog, did just that and it worked.

If you only buy the console for this game then def get the S not the X. I have a PS5 and bought the X only for Forza and FS but its just too much money to play 2 games when your main console is something else. The S is ridiculously powerful for its money and you'll probably wont even see the graphical differences on your telly.

Thanks to game pass ultimate and the wonders of modern computing technology you don’t even need a nextgen console. I have been playing MSFS 2020 via cloud gaming on my XB1 S for hours at a time and no real issues. A couple connection drops and a sound glitch where I had to restart the sim but nothing has gone wrong since.
unfortunately I'd like to try this alternative but it's not compatible with a HOTAS system - feels like a bit of an oversight and Microsoft seems to have promised this compatibility for years but with no developments.
just to let you know that you dont need to buy the game pass, if you get the series s for £249 and the the game of msfs for £51 this brings it to £300 but also means that you can keep the game for ever rather than have to renew the game pass subscription. I guess one of the advantages of the game pass though is that you can play lots of other games as well as msfs on that one subscription...
For casual gamers that want to enjoy Flight Simulator, this is a no brainer deal, get the Series S. If you are an avid, hardcore Microsoft Flight Simulator enthusiast (and I mean enthusiast), then you may want to invest around $600-800 and get it on PC; build yourself a PC that can handle it. On PC, you get great mods. The ability to switch Bing Maps for Google Maps, for example is a game changing mod IMO.
You'll never have a 600 bucks PC that can handle it as good as Series S. A PC will cost you at least 3k to make it happen

I bought the S as I could not afford to upgrade PC. Been playing MSFS since version 1 on the Tandy. I rather enjoy it. Looking forward to a decent yoke for XBOX.
I'm planning on getting a yoke, rudder pedals and thrusters setup by a company called Honeycomb. Their version for Xbox is supposed to come out early 2022 (already out for PC). Have you seen anything better for console?

I have an airbus flight stick, do you know if that compatible with the Xbox? And can you also connect a wireless Kb and mouse instead of using the Xbox controller?
I have a Series S and play a lot of flight sim on it, I even got a HOTAS (Thrustmaster t.flight one) and gotta say it's a great experience.
MSFS is something I always wanted to get into but never really had a PC with the specs to do so, it's great that they can bring it to more people by porting it to console!

Just wanted to add to the comments here..... I have a high end gaming PC with RTX card, 64GB RAM, fast M.2 drive etc etc and can play MSFS2020 in 4K (as well as lower resolutions) Annoyingly I always get stutters in the game on my PC even though I have applied many variants of settings etc. As I already own a PS5, I did not want to fork out another 400 quid for Xbox Series X but rather purchased a Series S JUST to play MSFS2020 on and have a constant framerate. The stutters on the PC were frustrating me that much I have opted for the Series S to get full enjoyment from the simulation and allow me to stream it with no issues.

It won't completely fill the 1S, but I can see it pushing 200 gig before too long, so you'll need an expansion card to play other S/X enhance games at the same time.

Flying through mountainous regions look horrible cause the textures constantly seem to change and the mountains themselves change form and pop up. I hope they fix this in the next updates...
I agree, going off the beaten track and visiting lesser known airports and more obscure areas can be a bit underwhelming.

Every airport they have in the game is free but u have to pay for a few airports if u want them to look like they do irl. If u dont a default model will load

On World map you have all those airports? I thought you could only get 30 airports max
30 enhanced airports. You get all airports on base game. The deluxe just has more of the enhanced detail airports.
there are 30+ airports that are in detail graphics rendering (accurate building, etc). the rest, the other many thousands, airports or air fields are AI calculated (imagined by the AI).

PS5 gamer. I got the Series S starter edition for $246 (including tax and shipping) from Dell just for this game. $229 was a good price. Wanted to get the X, but at $449+ tax at Costco with 2 controllers, I could not justify it. Have not had and Xbox since the 360. Good times.
