I have an Xbox. It’d be really hard to full sim on it. I’m just glad it’s on Xbox so I can finally enjoy this beautiful game and try to be as realistic as possible with a controller haha.

I will use this sim to overcome my fear of flying.
We fear what we don't understand.
My husband and I took turns playing around in the easy mode on the World Map with 4 or 5 different planes. We flew from Orlando to Tampa, flew over all the major theme parks, then our house North of Tampa and landed at MacDill AFB. We noticed the satellite images are older because we could still see the big oak tree that was once outside of our house that we cut down about 5-6 years ago. We explored San Vito dei Normanni (Italy) where my husband grew up; Shiner, TX where he went to high school; Kyoto, Japan where I lived and worked and even took the main menu tour around Giza. Then we challenged ourselves a bit by flying from Seoul to Pyongyang at night, just to see the contrast in how big and bright the lights are in South Korea vs. a nearly-dark North Korea. After I get through some basic flight training, my goals are to fly along the TransSiberian Railroad and the old Silk Road paths.

I know I am 2 years late here, but I just bought the Xbox S console and immediately purchased MSFS 2020. I have not played video games in close to 20 years. So glad I found your video and just wanted to thank you for making it and posting. Having done some systems training in the past myself, I thoroughly enjoy your tutorial style. Great voice and accent, by the way lol.
I love this! Thank you!! One note, the option for the HUD in chase mode has now moved into the User Experience section in the Assistance options. So don't set them all to off as it says in this video, set the HUD option to on.

I hope they don't talk me down due to the fact that I paid a fraction of what they did for their rig and my game runs better on my x.
seems top be the other way round on many videos, many Xbox players seem to think they are superior because they have the same game yet paid far less. not realising they don't quite have the same experience as PC users.
I think it's great there are more flight simmers out there, but everyone just needs to get along.

What I notice is how accurate and immersive the engine sound are. I’m really impressed with this.
From someone who has never flown a sim like this..a heartfelt thank you. Your tone and demeanour are perfect for listening and learning. With your help, I too have flown my first airframe and seen my first landmark. Thank you. I shall watch the landing video when I'm done in the skies 😊

Just finished my 1st flight. Started in Calgary AB, flew over my home and landed on the number 1 highway. Great amount of fun

Picked up a Series X last week mainly for this sim. Really enjoyed this tutorial and looking forward to watching the rest. I already did my first takeoff and landing at my local airport (London City) but this is still a great video to watch. Great job 👏🏻
Brilliant tutorial - very clear instructions and just the right pace. Did my first ever take off following your instructions. Took off from Santos Dumont (Rio) and had a good close up look at Christ the Redeemer. Then, for a laugh, I tried to land (again first time) back at Santos Dumont. Approach wasn’t too bad but overshot the runway and landed in the sea, but just turned the plane around and came back onto the runway! Sully would have been proud! Then the plane somehow taxied itself back and parked - what a hoot! Obviously lots to learn. Great fun - thanks.
In real life, Santos Dumont is a very hard airport. Too short runway for the aircraft that lands there.
As a noob I cannot praise this tutorial high enough, thank you so much, I will now go through the other tutorials.

I have to say I've been waiting for mfs to co.e to xbox for ages just bought the series x for that reason I've been watching your tutorials for a year and enjoy all your content. Don’t have a flight stick so been having to use controller on pc, this made that so much easier. Thanks :)
I'm going to say this again and again and again. You don't NEED a flight stick, or a HOTAS, or a home cockpit to be a flight simmer. If you fly the plane with an Xbox controller, you're a flight simmer and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Mhmm! Dont have to have a stick. I recommend using a keyboard and controller though so you can operate more engine controls.

Your guide really helped a lot. The sensivity of ls x and ls y should be at least - 75% to get an A in flight school in the horizon maneuvre using an Xbox controller - otherwise it is way to lively. Iv'e only been flying today ever and have progressed faster because of your two videos. Thanks a lot 👍

Just got mine 1 hour ago the Xbox x was out of stock for the past 2 months ,I picked it up with Flight Simulator and went home , I don’t want any other game …my journey flying an airplane started back in 2010 when I was running away from airport as much as I was scared flying 😁 not any more though as I challenged my situation by learning everything related to flying .. and I felt in love … I was almost ready to spend $7000 and more to start playing this game ,i feel so lucky when my son informed me about it ..I have already subscribed to your channel , I’m willing to watch your videos as I’m sure I will benefit from it . I hope I will be able to build a nice setup with the right additions , I hope you will include in your videos

What a bloody good video. Really impressed on how clear you gave the instructions. Very good for first time players. I played on pc a year ago but decided to wait for the xbox version. Amazing video so far (half way through). I fear the minute I see a Series X available to buy I’m just gonna do it. I need this. I have dreamt of this since I was a kid. (I know PC flight sims have existed but I could never afford a decent one and this is so much better than they ever were way back when).
As a huge PlayStation guy with a PS5 this game was always going to get me on board with Xbox, and as it actually comes to fruition that has absolutely proven true. What a game. Looks incredible. Immersion to the max. Looking forward to seeing them develop this further, and carry on into future generations. Gimme this in VR in future Microsoft!

You could always build yourself a small form factor pc which is smaller than an xbox series x with far more power but with that being said, pc parts, like the xbox's, are hard to find and expensive atm. Prices should start to come down within the next year or so. Just hold out and make your choice then as the game at some point will be on sale and in much better form by then as they constantly update it. See you in the sky's someday.

First thing I did was go to the nearest airfield at my house and figured out how to take of made my way there and man it didn’t look like my property at all 😂
That is often the case, especially if you don’t live near a major metropolitan area- BUT, the streets and roads should be fairly accurate, even if your exact property isn’t.

I have/had this on PC (gamepass) but the computer struggled a bit. Now I have a series X so looking forward to Tuesday. I've got a thrustmaster but I might try it with Elite controller first, looks easy enough. Another excellent video, many thanks

It's early days for me, but I can't wait to get into this sim. Already purchased a wheel stand and suitable attachment for all three honeycomb flight controls when they come out(hopefully in Autumn) I want to experience this as a full blown flight sim with all the bells and whistles and flight controls. Trouble is......can't get a series X for love or money(without paying scummy scalper prices!!) but I will be patient.

That was an excellent video demo for getting started very informative, can't wait for the landing demo. I hope you make a series off tutorials for this flight SIM, as I'm sure there are many like myself that are new to this. A series of tutorials that cover everything, as your videos gradually get little harder until we get to the airliners. lol

3:25 this is not entirely true, for Assisted Controller Sensitivity.
This is a new setting that simply dampens the inputs of the tiny joypads on your controller, so the planes arent as twitchy. Basically a faster way to set up your controls without having to go into the Sensitivity curves. Its not an "assist" or taking away control, it simply makes an xbox controller behave more like a joystick, in that each 0 to 100% input you make will be slightly delayed.
I still use these settings, this tutorial was extremely useful when I started out.

Hi very helpful video just remember that a lot of people who have game pass will have the standard edition which will have less planes ✈️ than in the early access edition which you showed so it might have been helpful just to mentioned that but having said that you explained everything else very well and helpful so I will be watching many more video’s 👍

Wow thank you for this! I had been playing flight sim for maybe 2 hours. I still felt like the controls weren't working right (AI would take over and I would crash fighting the AI lol) this and the other tutorial were super helpful. Now flying is SO much more calmer and predictable lol. :)

For all you look inverted gamers out there, there is no simple y axis inversion toggle. Make sure you go into cockpit camera settings and eternal camera settings and remap the up and down inputs for the right stick.
