Garage Gym Reviews. Waiting for it to show up on craigslist free: "old treadmill, motor doesnt seem to work. Dont want to fix so just come take it.... you must haul"
The confusing thing about this treadmill is that despite there being no electronics, and quite honestly - a very old school style treadmill...... it costs MORE than most high end treadmills out there already. It is literally just a curved conveyor belt powered by the user. So why the insane cost? You'd think this backwards step in tech, and by that I mean no tech, this thing would be priced at around $500, tops. Not, $5,700.... closer to $6,000 after shipping and taxes. Life Fitness commercial grade "Club Series" treadmill has all the bells and whistles you could imagine and costs $5500. $200 cheaper than the Trueform.... which has pretty much nothing. So again, makes no sense. If I have ever needed an example of nonsensical pricing this has to be it. The markup is absurd. The price of this thing is like if Apple came back out with the Macintosh 128K and charged $3,000 for it despite it having a fraction of a fraction of the computing power of even the cheapest smartphone today. Paying MORE than a premium price for basic, old tech.... sense being made does not exist here. Now I'm not saying it's a POS treadmill, just saying it is insanely overpriced for essentially some metal and I assume the belt is rubber material.... and then the cylinders the belt wraps around. That's the "tech" involved here. They have to make a killing in profit on each one of these sold. It has GOT to be like a 90% markup on the cost it takes to build these things.... at least, because 10% is only $550..... the price point I'd think something like this should actually sell for, not cost to produce.
The reason why it is so expensive is because the purpose of this machine is to teach you to run with good mechanics. IDK about truform but when I run on the airrunner, it took me longer than running on the road or on motorized treadmill. Have you tried running in it?
when it comes to fitness they can make it expensive and they know people will buy it. there is a 600 dollar jig saw with the rubber ball on it and people buy it
@@smilinjoe23 terrible reason, run outside if you want the proper mechanics with the assistance of a running coach and you'd be guaranteed a better result for $6000
I was thinking "boy, i bet this thing is like $2500" , silly ass me. How bout instead of spending 6k on this, you run at the park, but hire a personal trainer for a year, build a decked out home gym and still have enough for a down payment on a car
When I started the video I was thinking yeah and I bet this thing is $1500 lol. But, it would be nice to have if you can afford it I guess, especially in bad weather.
Everything is coming up Milhouse. This is the type of machine where cost cutting would quickly ruin the point of it to begin with. Its not something I would personally invest in but I also steer very clear of cheep treadmills.
I sell Treadmills for a living, and I do not sell Trueform. But I see a lot of objection over the price so I’d like to add my 2 cents. I sell treadmills from $1000 to $12,000. That being said, the slat-treads are a whole different animal. The motor not being there is not a liability it’s an advantage. This treadmill produces no heat, no rub, no friction, and virtually has no wear out parts. I do sell the assault version which is just like it, and they claim they can get over 150,000 miles on the tread. That’s 10x what a electric treadmill will get. This treadmill feels much better than a regulated treadmill, can achieve a much longer stride and sprint, and matches foot speed better. RG3 ran 25MPH on one that is not possible on a electric treadmill because of the foot plant issues being static not dynamic. A powered treadmill maintains its speed no matter what- you run dynamic, every push off is an acceleration and every foot strike is a deceleration. And at the end of the day they feel night and day. They are a lot, and they are still worth it. I belong to lifetime fitness we have Techno-gyms version of it. That one is $9,000 and woodway makes one too. The amount of steel bearings on this machine are expensive. Not having a motor is not what makes a treadmill cost anything, $399 pro form treadmills at Costco have a motor. This stuff is rocket fuel and the future.
*This is the second Treadmill friend I've owned **bestgym.equipment** t was easy to assemble and easier to fold than my last one. The controls are a lot better as well. I give it 5 stars!*
This came at the best time. My Elliptical Sole e25 broke. Had nothing but problems since day 1. At rating for 400lbs and I am 310lbs it should NOT break at the welds. I was looking getting the Rogue Echo bike, but currently sold out. I am gonna check this out. I prefer overbuilt equipment because I am a fat guy and I buy only new equipment for my home gym. I want my things to last. I don't wanna get hurt trying to save a few bucks.
Just a correction, I spoke with Woodway and the Curve does NOT include a flywheel and they also have a newer model called the Curve Trainer that has a much more subtle curve than the original. The Curve original was designed for HIIT training while the newer trainer was designed for walking and distance work. Also, the Woodway Curve is the only treadmill that I know of to use aluminum slats under their rubber.
Our 24 hour fitness just added a bunch just recently. At first, it’s hard. You really have to have good form when running. But man it’s a good work out. I don’t know if I would buy it for a garage gym tho. Expensive & too big plus I can run outside. But definitely would pick up the rogue echo, rower, and ski erg since I can’t replicate that anywhere. Mybad for the rant lol

Garage Gym Reviews , Hey Coop what are your thoughts on the Rep gladiator bar? I'm thinking about getting the stainless version. It's always humid where I'm at so that's why.
How does the Trueform runner improve your form over the Assault Airrunner? Any evidence for that, or design differences between the 2 to result in one being more effective to improve your form?
cph 8 all the curved treadmills force you to run your forefoot. The only review I've found that comments on the differences suggests that there is more belt resistance in the Trueform. sprintcoach.com/2018/01/08/my-quest-to-find-the-perfect-curved-manual-treadmill/
@@GarageGymReviews Ouch Coop. I'm a few months shy of 70. I lift 5 days a week. Give us oldtimers a break. Old guys like me (ex Army Ranger and SF) think a lot of you young guys "have no idea what's going on". It's all good though. I'm still a big fan of yours. Keep up the great work.
Doesn't the assault treadmill improve your running too? What exactly is the difference between the trueform and the assault that makes one better than the other, because they're both curved?
The sides of the assault are plastic, its built overseas, the belt if much faster which goes against the mechanism that teaches and trains proper form by driving through the stride rather than keeping up with a belt in motion, the true form is 100% hand built in America with much higher quality parts. I am purchasing one this week so I've done a ton of research, nothing touches the Trueform in my humble opinion.
Youre correct. I ended up buying the used air runner at the games for a very discounted parts. Most of the materials are made of plastic instead of metal that is welded on with the truform. When I was a runner in high school all these treadmills with motors are not really that great. If you are a serious runner putting over 50 miles on a treadmill in a week, the treadmill is going to die. I've killed a couple of treadmills at gyms. I'm looking into getting one of these for my house. I don't think I would go with a motorized treadmill unless my wife wanted one to walk on. And then it might last as she's 100 lbs and she'll be walking on it. I would appreciate a motorless treadmill that is built like a tank. I'll probably be purchasing one in the next couple of months as long as it's available.
because the stationary bike companies pay an endorsement fee to the NFL. Watching some of your vids today. You are starting to do more titan reviews/comps to rogue. I was wondering if there was a chance you could get your hands on a Force USA MyRack power rack. People rave about rogue and their quality and number of attachments. Force USA though uses the same gauge steel and same size hardware as the monster lite series. Only difference is the tubing size is 2.4"x2.4" compared to Rogue's 3x3. Also...... Force USA kills it in attachments. Possibly better since they have a cable crossover attachment...... AND everything is insanely cheaper despite pretty much the same material being used. The bare bones rack itself costs only $500. Just a suggestion for future review (read as HOPE for a future review). I've commented before and told you I've literally built my home gym. I just decided though to purchase a "legitimate" rack and I can't help but be attracted to what Force USA is doing. I mean I could get the MyRack and all the attachments I want and pretty much have everything gym related I want in one system for about $1400..... less than the price of rogues RML-690. Oh yeah, and Force USA advertises 2 day shipping and the real kicker..... FREE shipping.
Well, this treadmill is for the serious runner who wants to do HIIT. The weather may not make it practical to run outside and running on a TruForm is better on your knees than running on concrete. Not everyone has access to a running track. It's expensive but so is a Jacobs Ladder which I bought for my house. LOL. But I love the convenience of using the Ladder first thing in the morning for an amazing workout. Wodstar.com has a 5% discount on the TruForm or you can try Craigslist if you don't mind buying used.
2 years ago i was running next to my house and drug dealers (narcotraficantes) start shooting AK 47 Bullets to the sky and still i wont spend 6k for a treadmill
My guy, I love running, it's the best and I would meber say other wise, but I'm REALLY bad at it, so bad that I can only jog half a lap before saying fuck it I'm gone but I want this so bad! I'd love to improve my running in the saftey of my own home but sike, not with that price
This Trueform treadmill looks like a cheap design due to the fact that you kept outrunning it and leaned against the front of the bar. The curve treadmill at my gym is much higher quality and the belt is smooth, and extremely sensitive.
I think this thing looks pretty sweet, problem is that I think treadmills are the most commonly bought and dumped pieces of equipment due to non-use.
The biggest problem is the $5000 price tag...
hahaha lol
That's very true, but I would imagine people purchasing this type of treadmill uses it more than the cheapy, clothes hanger versions.

I've actually had quite a few people ask for a review on those racks. I need to do more research, sounds like they're getting popular!
Any discount code you are aware of, I am in the market to buy a Trueform Runner.
Don't buy it please. Way overpriced. There are other way better alternatives in this price range.
Wodstar.com has a 5% discount on the TruForm or you can try Craigslist if you don't mind buying used.
what about the stress on your knees?? These type products can be brutal on the knees for some. There's a reason NFL don't use these type machines
What do they use?
$5000 for a piece to go in your garage that’s insane..
How about Woodway Curve?
No motors so why are they so expensive?
could not have sounded more like a paid ad and im not paying 7000 for a treadmill.
It's so expensive because it uses invisible engine technology (patent pending) You know, like the emperor's clothes.
Time for Rouge to build an air runner
2 years ago i was running next to my house and drug dealers (narcotraficantes) start shooting AK 47 Bullets to the sky and still i wont spend 6k for a treadmill
Damn
:gasp: ... i might as well get a used car for this price
No in regionals it was the assault runner
Am from India how can I buy this
Why it costly and not available in India
Not taking running advice from a guy that runs in khakis
It's available in India
My guy, I love running, it's the best and I would meber say other wise, but I'm REALLY bad at it, so bad that I can only jog half a lap before saying fuck it I'm gone but I want this so bad! I'd love to improve my running in the saftey of my own home but sike, not with that price
Tell me coop, why SHOULDN'T I buy this product?
It's expensive
Where can I get one in England
This Trueform treadmill looks like a cheap design due to the fact that you kept outrunning it and leaned against the front of the bar. The curve treadmill at my gym is much higher quality and the belt is smooth, and extremely sensitive.
4k for a non motorized treadmill. Thats a scam dude.
I like these.
$5K no thanks I'll just use the one at the gym.....
