Not just helpful, but the best I have found on skating backwards. It talks about every single thing that has been stopping me from freely skating this way. Wow. Thank you, so much. 😊
You were actually skating and thinking about learning how to go backward but didn’t and then watched this video insteadzzzzz. lol. Ok. The timing was perfect for you to learn when you had your skates on and was thinking about it.
Yeah for sure. This is not only a beginner video. It has helped me with some explanations. Most of my friends think it’s right to look left with the foot in that awkward position you just showed in the beginning. I’m glad I can now share this video with them. Coz you have really explained everything about backward skating. Thanks again Lino
I was off skates for some 15 years plus.. Going backwards is about the only skill I retained! Keep up the good work! Reminding us why we do this... Its FUN!
Just started skating again yesterday after 25 years or so.. miss my childhood I guess.. and before I bought my new skates the other day, I watched several of your videos and it really helped me a lot yesterday on my first try.. cheers Lino.
Excellent video, could not have been more pedagogic than this. I'll put training into it because I was really insecure when skating backwards, however, after this video, I got the gutts to go for it.
Appreciate your instructions. Cross training: applying the tips at our local ice skating rink. Also inlining in my home on LVT for the winter months. 10'x14'x17 feet, enough space to do figure eights and practice the small stuff.
Great video. I'm still not comfortable jumping on my skates (I can hop, lol) so I do the "split" to transition in and out. It's also called a mohawk, and works really well.
Been watching your channel for a while, and your videos were one of the reasons I picked up inline skating again! I'm about three years back into skating now, and I've reached a point where I feel comfortable to focus on my backwards skating, so this video has been a great help - the breakdown is excellent, and it's helped me realise where I am going wrong in my practice. Keep up the good work, Lino!
thank you ricardo, this video is so, so helpful! thanks so much! i recently got back into inline skating and am really enjoying your content. you're awesome, man!
I knew how to skate backwards but tho idk how to flow with it, every time I try to do that stance with a leg in the back and one at the front I keep pretty much turning random but since you mention shoulders, that could be the reason why. Ty for this tutorial, ima try it out once I go to the park :)
I love the compass turn lol.... but I busted my arse the other day hahahaa. I went into it tooo fast and over turned lost balance fell on my right hip and for-elbow. Got a nice knot and scar from it. Hehehe I heal up super quick n took a picture of it when it happened cus the next day it was gone.
You look like that guy, who was skating in Capetown down a hill with rolla skates with blue wheels. Whom was skating with a friend that was going to another country
Now, is it easier to learn lemon etc and backwards in a flat setup or rockered. I was thinking stability of a flat setup would be better for learning to a higher level. Also strengthens your muscles better than the ease of rockered
just got skates a few weeks ago. Late 20s and i haven't skated since my teenage years... slowly getting back. I've ridden for about 6 hours total. I go once a week for a couple hours. Discovered your channel a couple days ago. Will check out more vids. Thanks for the lesson
Hi, what skates would you recommend for someone who’s getting back into skating after 20 years :) So basically starting from scratch but can skate and know the basics pretty well. :) I was thinking about K2- uptown 2021 purely because of the look and some features. Would you say it’s a good skate for someone who’s going to learn more?? Many thanks 🙏
I have slightly rockered skakes.... so I'm mostly standing on the 2 middle wheels. Is there a difference (from flat wheels) in how I should maneuver a break or skating backwards?

Here to learn how to stop looking over the wrong shoulder! Funny how it feels more comfortable the wrong way at first.
Yes sirrrr
I love going backwards! I like transitioning slowly via a crabwalk 🤫
Hello Ricardo, thank you for you videos. Would like to ask, what kind of inline skates would you recommend for someone new to inline skates?
I want to know where you helmet is from. It doesn't look bulky and big. I want to wear one but I look silly in it so i don't. Please help me
Hey hey.
This is an ennui Elite helmet :)
Super super slim.
Please check it out. I even made a video about them
Cheers
