    Please write a book. You are such an excellent teacher. I feel that inline skating has become an art in its own right, and if anyone can give voice to that in the semi-permanent form of a book, it’s you.

    A week ago I could not crossover in the grass, I fell without moving ! Yesterday I was back on my big wheels skates after some visits to the skatepark, and I instantly made my first crossovers without trying ! Crazy how it just came to me with general practice ! And you are right, it is a LOT of fun ! Can't wait to backward crossover, hockey stop and all... My cool blading journey is only beginning !

    Loved this step-by-step explanation both of what is happening during the crossover and of how to practice it progressively! It's an amazing feeling when those crossovers begin to feel natural.

    Thank you very much. I am a simple guy from eastern Europe who is trying to correct his mistakes and at the same time teach his wife, for all these lessons that you have on the channel. my English is bad. But I was able to understand everything you were talking about. This applies not only to Crossover, but also to Ride stairs, 360, balancing, etc.

    I've been watching several videos to try to improve my skating (I'm a beginner, I practically only go forward comfortably), all the videos I've seen so far, in Portuguese (my native language) or even in English, haven't helped me much. I try to get some tips from more advanced friends too, but they do little to help someone who is rusty like me (I'm starting to learn at the age of 44, after a life of sedentary lifestyle). I have to say that I have never seen anyone with teaching as simple, but as good as yours. After watching some of your videos, I was able to do some workouts and do things that I thought I would never be able to do. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge in such a clear and educational way.

    Great to see. I'm only 5'4" on 4x90 and crossing over with these wheels is a task

    • @remyhendrikse6450
      @remyhendrikse6450 2 роки тому

      Agree, I do only crossover after the apex of the corner because 4x90 creates more speed and need more space. On 4x80 I can start the crossover earlier, the speed gained and the space needed will be less.

    Thanks for the lesson, when you show and explain in the video it looks so easy, I've been trying to get myself to learn how to use the cross-over technique for a while now. Unlike other influencers online, you show clearly and slowly so it's easier for me to absorb.
    Now i hope that your lesson has given me more meat on my legs, so me and my daughter are going out in the sun to give it a try..

    I would love it if you could do short vid on the way Bill does his crossovers - I think there's a few key differences to what I see around, which is what you did so splendidly here.. I've been trying to implement it for a while now, and while it feels weird still, being so light on my feet and not really stepping across as much as in front of the other skate, I'm seeing it fitting so much better into city skating in particular, especially for short bursts generating power (regular crossovers are not great for this because you'll simply turn to fast for it to be helpful on a tight path for example)..
    The way he does sprints is something I've been trying to unlock as well, and the two are really connected I feel - what he does really looks more like running than skating when talking about crossovers and sprints, and I'd just like to hear your thoughts on it as well, because as everyone knows, you're the best at breaking down all this stuff.. 👍

    • @stephenklump7615
      @stephenklump7615 2 роки тому

      On sprints, recover explosively, back foot coming forward, too: quick starts are about chops, not strides. Keep at it! If you're not working on getting faster, you're working on getting slower.

    I really enjoy your teaching style in these tutorials! Any tips for the weak leg? I'm pretty comfortable going round the circle one way, but it's almost impossible the other way!

    • @crimsonkatsu5919
      @crimsonkatsu5919 2 роки тому +1

      At least for me I find that on my dominant leg I trust the outside edge more so I'll put my bodyweight out farther.
      I'm guessing that on your weak side you don't trust being on the outside edge. To fix it practice gliding on your outside edge on one foot. If you are on your right foot you should start to turn to the right. If you are on your left foot you will turn to your left.
      Once you are comfortable with that look up hockey powerskating outside edge drills or figure skating cross rolls and practice those on inline skates. You'll be a crossover master before you know it.

    • @alvarodelaorden8901

      to keep things balance I like to practice crossover doing an 8-figure pattern, so both sides are worked on.
      by the way, you don´t have a weak leg/side. You have a good one and a better one ;)

    • @richardw7010
      @richardw7010 2 роки тому

      It's crazy how much easy it is one way than the other. But I'm making progress! I can go the other way now, though it ain't pretty! I can actually get some figure 8s going.
      I've been doing outside edge practice, and playing around with inside shoulder back, I notice that it also pulls back my hip a bit which helps. But a lot of cross overs without moving forward and trying to glide on the outside edge, as well as doing the cross over slowly and holding as long as I can.
