    Yes i think you're right. I watched this when it was first shown . What an inspiration. It was an emotional performance by a master of his instrument. Bravo!!

    I have a theory as to why this is not a popular piece to play for a euphonium. To play the music well you must first sell your soul to the devil and every measure saps a year of your life away

    Amazing - if it was Jimmy Hendrix then the world would be be doing Cartwheels, But its always hard to appreciate what a TRUE artiste can achieve !!

    • @ProdyJORDAN
      @ProdyJORDAN 7 років тому

      What the fuck are you on about? You turned it into something about race when that isn't necessary. Fucking racist, implying Jimmy Hendrix isn't a true artist when he is a legend.

    • @mybonesfellout
      @mybonesfellout 7 років тому +6

      JordanYT he mentioned nothing about race

    • @turnitback
      @turnitback 7 років тому +5

      Gabe is right to say that you said nothing about race. Nevertheless, your post betrays an all-too-common narrowness of mind and an assumption that what you like is always better. Yes, Robert Childs's performance is brilliant. I am a brass band musician and, as far as I can see, Jimi Hendrix's skill was equally great. Trying opening your mind.

    • @MUCKER1314
      @MUCKER1314 6 років тому +5

      jesus Christ where did he mention race?? for me he was clearly referring to the more popular medium of pop/rock music, grow up!!

    • @MUCKER1314
      @MUCKER1314 6 років тому +2

      btw I'm a brass player and a rock fan, nothing in the original comment about Hendrix is offensive to either medium

    Wynton Marsalis is an internationally acclaimed musician, composer, bandleader, educator and a leading advocate of American culture. He is the world’s first jazz artist to perform and compose across the full jazz spectrum from its New Orleans roots to bebop to modern jazz.

    hes good...but his son David Childs is better...it might seem like this guy is "better polished" but thats cuz he is playing slower than David...i personally go for David...he would definately kick da shit out of his dad if they played in a competition

      No he wouldn’t. Robert Childs is the most complete euphonium player the brass band world has produced. There are players with better sounds, but for the full house Robert Childs has it all.
